I agree, but as has been pointed out before, you can partly blame Twitter for that decision, since the official apps and website try very hard not to show you a chronological timeline by default any more. (And if you do turn that option back on, they have a habit of randomly turning it off again.)

It does, but that of course is what you agreed to when you signed up with your phone provider and the various services on it, so that's why they're allowed to do it. That doesn't give any other company free rein to do what they like with your data, legally they have to it make it very clear what they're going to do with it when you sign up for whatever they're offering. But as I said above, hopefully they're well on top of that and it's all good.

Collecting the information is one thing, but in these GDPR days, how long they're allowed to keep it, what they're allowed to use it for, and even how they store it is a whole different matter. Hopefully they're on top of all that though, as it does seem like a good use of the data.

Pretty much sums up my feelings too. Sounded like a great idea when I read about it, but when I saw the actual email it seems a bit creepy, and borderline data-protection-infringey (did you really give them permission to monitor your attendance at games when you bought your season ticket? Maybe, I don't have one). But it seems to be getting a lot of positive feedback, so hopefully they'll tweak things a bit if required and try to keep the creepiness to a minimum in future.

Maybe we should switch to the Deacon Blue song just to be different.

How do I get proper email notifications back? The emails now just show first couple of lines of each post, which is mince.

Haven't seen the incident, but as far as I know the handball rules are no different for a keeper for than anyone else outside the box. Red for denying an "obvious goalscoring opportunity", yellow for stopping a "promising attack".

All three players worked fine here, I was switching between them at different times depending on whether I was wanting picture-in-picture or casting to my telly.

I hadn't even heard of half the England team that Scotland were playing against the other night. So as far as I'm concerned, everyone we're signing is a household name who's guaranteed to bang in 20 goals a season.

I see he's of Nigerian descent... I work with a Nigerian guy who has at least three different surnames that he uses in different circumstances, based on his family's name, the village he was born in, and his appearance. So it's probably not that odd.

I particularly like that in his very first highlight, he misses.
