  1. Cue cruciate ligament damage in the first pre-season friendly.
  2. Especially as he played precisely once for the team that paid it.
  3. At best, I guess he's proved his fitness this season following a significant medical procedure, so maybe he's now seen as slightly less of a gamble. But I agree that shouldn't be adding anything like £4m to his value.
  4. Let's hope not, if GA really does only want folk who can play 40 games a season.
  5. It did, and a lot of us said the same afterwards. Have to say though, at the time, I think most of us were screaming at him to put Phil through to seal it.
  6. It was a terrific performance from us, but had forgotten how much of a shocker their keeper had too. Chucked the first one in, helped the second on its way too, and beat at the near post for the third… almost Chapmanesque.
  7. Because they all cost money to run, so it's a nice thing to do? (Some people pay for this one too, you know...)
  8. Don’t disagree, but I guess they don’t really practise low and accurate very much, their usual target is height and/or distance.
  9. Ian St.John perhaps... although most of his success was certainly achieved elsewhere, it was of course his transfer fee that funded the main stand, so there's that link too.
  10. Well, I'm not. Hated all the "thunderdome" pish, can see that down the local playing fields anytime.
  11. His record wasn't exactly too shabby before he joined us, either.
  12. Always the chance you'll get shot while you're just minding your own business, of course.
  13. No wonder we lost. At least I know how to pronounce Deimantas Petravičius now, though.
  14. Only because I'll never believe it wasn't meant to be a cross, however much anyone claims otherwise.
  15. For whom? It's certainly not the point for those of us they're meant to be keeping informed.
  16. As you say, it's only tailor-made for him if he's actually any good at that sort of thing, and his record to date suggests that's not necessarily the case. But if coaching is what he wants to pursue then I'm sure we'll give him every opportunity given his status at the club.
  17. True. There's always this one though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Pedro_de_la_Paz
  18. Sounds like these two facts should be connected, but I'm not sure how.
  19. Nothing major I would say, Alexander just seems to have got certain players to focus on the basics a bit more, and has been playing more folk in their natural positions. Alexander has also had the distinct advantage of having Liam Kelly in goal, who's a considerable step up on Aaron Chapman.
