  1. Same here, was disappointed. Was hoping for something a wee bit different to try, have already got most of the discounted ones on my shelves. Was tempted by the Lagavulin Distillers Edition, but didn't end up buying anything. My erse is making buttons for something new to try now as I was sure I'd get something on Prime day.
  2. Great wee night at my local tonight: Glenfarclas 25 Arran Bothy Arran 14 Glendronach 12 Clynelish 14 Tomatin 18 Glen Scotia 18 Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2010
  3. I'm happy with this year's Father's Day present
  4. I've used the ice cube, my nipples are freezing. I'm away to try the oloroso now to see if tastes nicer, I'll let you know.
  5. Aye, I got the 60.3% one from Royal Mile Whiskies a wee while back. I was like Goldilocks with it though, too strong neat, then too much water, etc. Never quite got it right and put it back on the shelf. This post has put me in the mood for going back to give it another go.
  6. Just got a bottle of Oban 14 for £38.99 and Aberlour 16 for £48.45 on Amazon. Any of you tried them before?
  7. What was the Scapa tour like? I've bought a bottle of the Skiren, will crack it open this weekend. They seem to only be doing NAS stuff now, is that right?
  8. Caol Ila 12 for £32, just bought a bottle. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Caol-Ila-Single-Scotch-Whisky/dp/B001HU7THE/ref=sr_1_1?adgrpid=57008524761&hvadid=259056732646&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9046964&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=2352265146480783706&hvtargid=kwd-10940182962&keywords=caol+ila+12&qid=1555412729&s=gateway&sr=8-1 They've also got Dalwhinnie 15 for £32, Auchentoshan 12 for £26.50, Glengoyne 10 and Speyburn 10 at around the £25 mark
  9. All I keep reading about the Abunadh is the massive hike in price/drop in quality of some of the later batches I've seen at as 'low' as £58 on Amazon, currently at £62. What's your thoughts, at what point is it worth/not worth it? Be keen to hear a wee review of the 57 North as well, I'm a fan of Talisker 10.
  10. Just went for this from Master of Malt for £40 plus shipping. Anyone tried it?
  11. Loch Fyne Whisky Shop across the road from the George is decent. One down the street from the George as well, can't remember its name.
  12. Awfy quiet in here recently. Here's my first purchase of the year. To be honest I would have preferred to go for the Oloroso rather than peated, but the price tag of £37.50 swung it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glenlivet-Nadurra-Peated-70/dp/B01C62NSEY/ref=gbps_img_s-4_7dfe_828b802f?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_p=f0110363-b410-4b20-a02e-ab660b6f7dfe&pf_rd_s=slot-4&pf_rd_t=701&pf_rd_i=gb_main&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=TBEVR8TVBG36CW9K8GY6
  13. This was my Christmas whisky highlight, not cracked it open yet though. Anyone tried it?
  14. Well worth that IMO Opened it tonight -heaven!
  15. Lucky boy, how did you manage to get your hands on that?
  16. I'm still a novice building a wee collection up, trying along the way as I go. Amazon has been a good source. A couple I've picked up this week are Auchentoshan 12yo at £26.95 and Royal Lochnagar 12 yo at £24.90
  17. Not tried that one, but opened a bottle of the Sherry cask finish on Friday night. Lovely stuff.
  18. Went for this one instead, £49.95 https://www.royalmilewhiskies.com/springbank-12-cask-strength-70cl/
  19. Cheers mate, the one I was looking at was the unpeated cask strength at 59.1% rather than standard bottling. Will be getting neither, unfortunately.
  20. Fair doos, I saw it on the whisky exchange for 90 odds, thought the cask-strength bumped up the price compared to the normal 15 release, glad I wasn't actually able to get it on Costco at an impulse!
  21. I tried to bag this beauty from Costco for £69.99 with free shipping, but didn't realise you had to be a member to buy online. They do a £15 online membership, but that tips it over being a good bargain for me. Worth it for those who are already members though I would have thought? https://www.costco.co.uk/Food-Wine-Household/Spirits/Whisky/Caol-Ila-15-Year-Old-Single-Malt-Scotch-Whisky-Special-Release-2016-70cl/p/250352
  22. I was kicking myself afterwards. Saw they had Springbank12 cask strength for £55 after I'd ordered and paid for the Deanston 18. By the time I'd hawed and hummed about paying for shipping again it had sold out. Can't see it anywhere else for that sort of price, who's tried it and what do you think?
  23. Cheers, looking forward to it...arrives Friday. They threw in a wee 3cl dram of Singleton Dufftown as a freebie once I checked-out.
  24. Deanston 18yo on sale at Master of Malt for £49.41 plus p&p on a flash sale https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/deanston/deanston-18-year-old-whisky/#add
