  1. It’s probably still there, next to a stashed carry out…..
  2. The thing I took away most from the thistle game, was how we were completely unable to make ANY changes from the bench. In my opinion this is where McPake (and The rest of the back room team) is at his best, changing the game via the bench and switches. So many injuries meant there was no one on the bench, and while v QP plan A worked perfectly, v Thistle it didn’t, and we couldn’t change it, hence the result.
  3. Official website has this https://dafc.co.uk/kane-working-on-his-recovery/
  4. On the whole, artificial surfaces v their grass compatriots at the same division don’t compare well in my opinion. Im not anti artificial surface on the whole, just very much against shit ones.
  5. No thanks. The future is artificial pitches, but except at the elite level, they aren’t favourably comparable to grass just yet. I’m happy for us to wait a good bit longer til the technology is better and cheaper than current. I watched the Falkirk hamilton 0-0 game on that “new” pitch surface, and it was absolutely awful with horrendous deviations in the bounce and pace of the ball. Fk that.
  6. That’s got Andy Barrowman wind up written all over it. Same way Kelty were putting Cardle and Higgy on the posters when we were going through our rough patch. Clever to a point.
  7. That’s twice I’ve seen thistle this season (made the Morton away game too) and twice seen them win by 3 clear goals. Both times I’ve felt their level of win has been due to how bad the opposition has been rather than their own good play. I’m not saying they are a bad side, sometimes the mark of a good team is winning comfortably without looking flashy. Being clinical and neat is far more effective. Unfortunately that’s the worst performance for us under McPake. Goalie sells the jerseys for the second goal and after that the whole spine collapses. So many off days, summed up by McCanns free kick, two weeks ago he’s ripping the net off, yesterday it’s the roof of the stand. See how we go v Arbroath, but this is a timely reminder that in the championship, every game has the potential to produce unexpected results, including drubbings out of nowhere.
  8. It was a bad day at the office, that’s it. No need for dramatics - it’s McPakes second league away defeat and worst result for us as boss. Mehmet in for Sharp next week is a big upgrade, Sharp doesn’t make that mistake then we have a chance of pulling a draw out of it.
  9. They’ve not even started selling away tickets yet so pretty convinced we’ll be in the old main stand. Not seen us win there yet
  10. And to think this has probably not even made the top 3 most supporter alienating decisions by Fife football club boards in the last couple of years eh?
  11. Definitely the best first half we’ve had under him anyways - that was incredible at times. Really enjoyable.
  12. Really enjoyed that game. When Morton woke up in the second half they caused us some issues, but overall we deserved to win that game by 2 goals at least. If McCanns long range strike goes in, that’s a contender for goal of the season, some hit. If he can stay fit then he will be some player for us this season. As @101 says, when we get everyone back fit, it’s frightening to think how good we could be.
  13. Oh hohohoho Youve not considered, the John Hughes with Peter Grant as assistant option. That would be an immense appointment for Inverness.
  14. I took in the Morton v Partick Thistle 1-4 game the other week, and based on that - I really thought it would be curtains for Imrie. Did ok for the first 30 mins then seemed to just play into Thistles hands and concede basic goals. There were some right angry folk walking away from that game. But can’t be going to Tannadice and getting a good draw if you’re totally pish so it sounds like a typical championship match up coming our way! If we have any ambition of finishing in the top 4, this is exactly the kind of game we need to be winning. It’s going to be tough!
  15. I thought someone was taking the piss when they told me it was open for start of this season and capacity was less than 2000. What actual good is that to anyone? And why not just put some terracing behind each goal and get the capacity to over 3/4000? What’s wrong with folk!?
  16. That was a tremendous performance (in the main) and superb result.
  17. Absolutely isn’t. Quality player when he can be bothered, but he just didn’t do it for us when needed and we went down, while he had already agreed his PCA. I accept many of us want to wipe that season from memory right enough.
  18. In my opinion, Thomas downed tools when we needed him most and PCA’d himself with the team who we got in playoffs when relegated. Longridge was an absolute waster at us and deserving of a good boo.
  19. Louis Longridge and Dom Thomas in the starting queens line up
  20. Christ that would be a career ender the size of that ego. Am I reading this right, 2000 home fans expected for this? That’s a fair jump up from the days of 400 or so attending to watch the amateurs in league 2. Fair play.
  21. Never thought of any of our players “not trying” under McPake. I actually believe he is the best man to get the most out of what we have. My concern is the quality of what we have at this level. Hard work, guts and commitment will get them so far, but we need quality and right now - that’s the bit that’s unproven for me. I’ll add to my post by reminding myself that we have Chris Hamilton who is more than capable of being a dirty wee shite who could upend DT23 in the first 5. What odds on a yellow for Hamilton on Saturday?
  22. I’d like to think we could get at least a draw on Saturday but it will be tough. Would also have liked us to have someone capable of whacking Dom Thomas several feet in the air in the first few minutes. However given our track record over the years, much more likely he’ll score a winner. Could be a difficult couple of weeks for the club if we don’t pick up a win this week or next as we’ll start to sink down the table a wee bit. This could be McPakes first real test on getting us out of a bit of a gully on form.
  23. In league 1 aye. Everyone fully fit he struggles to get on our bench. Why waste a full time wage on someone like that ego at his age is unlikely to get better?
  24. Rob man - You’ve come away with some belters this window. I’ll take just one - with respect to the guy, Darren Lyons, a 28 year old midfielder playing part time in his last gig in league 1 for Kelty who finished lower-mid table certainly wouldn’t improve our midfield. He’s done well to get in at Arbroath and I hope he does well there. But come on.
