  1. I couldn’t agree more I was speaking to a work colleague last week who is from down south and is an Aldershot fan. When I mentioned Falkirk he said what he knew about us was our great youth set up. He couldn’t believe it when I told him the story of how we had got shot of it. Hopefully these 4 young lads are the first of many and the best of luck to them.
  2. I agree with a lot of the sentiment around the theory of keeping McGlynn but although he’s received numerous red dots I can buy into a bit of what Bairn in Exile is saying in his post. McGlynn’s team next year will be his, the type of football we see will be completely his and there will be no excuses. He has to show that he can adapt and that there is a plan A,B,C etc etc. If come October/November he and his team aren’t showing that he will be gone and we will be back to square one. The board are in a horrible position because if things go well they will be praised and if it goes tits up, the nay sayers amongst us will say they should have got rid now. They are very much damned if they do, damned if they don’t at the moment.
  3. Hamilton actually reminded me a wee bit of us, a lot of the ball but sod all going on up front. The only difference being their defence wasn’t nearly as bad and they have a bit of grit and strength about them and we had neither.
  4. Really pleased Ola is staying, just hope McGlynn actually starts playing him regularly.
  5. The big no. 10 for Annan looks decent, his hold up play and linking with the on running midfielders is good.
  6. I agree but I’d counter that by saying McGlynn has to make sure that the players he signs are first team starters. If he doesn’t do that then keeping the likes of Oliver will come back to bite him on the arse.
  7. I’ve no an issue with either staying as squad players tbh.
  8. An old head CH and a goalscorer akin to the likes of Declan McManus can make all the difference at this level. I’m like a broken record but I honestly think 4 experienced players at the spine of the team keeper, CH, centre mid and up front can make all the difference at this level, as long as they are semi-decent.
  9. Have seen McPake in a few of the Friday night games on the BBC and he looks shite, hopefully not.
  10. Was there any other rumours of potential signings?
  11. I’m pretty much resigned to the fact he’s staying, I’ve already renewed my ST so that’s not up for debate. For me he only gets my backing if I rock up at TFS at the start of the season and see that he has learned from his mistakes and the team is set up to play a different style of football. I want to see a strong, physical team that attacks teams from the off and has a really strong experienced spine. Get this slow, laboured, tippy tappy, possession based shite in the sea.
  12. Just watched the highlights and the defending for the Airdrie goal is calamitous to say the least with Coll Donaldson to blame, there is no need for him to go for the ball as McKay had it covered. Going forward if McGlynn is staying he needs to address that pair as they are a couple of nightmares waiting to happen and cost us too many goals.
  13. Thanks for that, I suppose he would definitely be an upgrade on what we currently have and would be a start to addressing the fact that the spine of our team is currently so weak. Hopefully our fans can see past his couple of gaffs in the 2015 cup final.
  14. Don’t think our fans would be too enamoured by it, but that aside how has he played for you this season. I’ve only seen Raith a few times on TV this season and I always think McDonald looks totally unfit.
  15. Ayr missed an absolute sitter when 1 up, if that had gone in they would have won.
  16. Just watched the interview and he’s basically confirming he ain’t going anywhere. Plenty of excuses in there and what’s worrying is the chat of him talking to our out of contract players and on loan players who are ending their contracts with their clubs, don’t bother John, they are shite and barring Max who we have f**k all chance of getting don’t want any of the others.
  17. Probably would rather try Smith on his own to see if he can do any better.
  18. I’d rather go with Arfield, he has connections to the club.
  19. Player Manager, it seems to have worked for Airdrie
  20. We know we do, eventually the well will run dry though.
  21. The way I feel just now we could sign Haaland, Mbappe, Van Djik, Messi and I still think we would f**k it up.
  22. Well said, Lewis is a volunteer who gives his time up to provide a service for fans who can’t always get to TFS. There has been times I’ve moaned about showing replays when the game is still going on but it would never get to the level of personal insults. He’s one of us and deserves a bit of respect.
  23. I bought my ST and I give £30 to the FSS a month. I won’t stop as I love the club but f**k me they make things hard for us. I wouldn’t blame anyone for chucking it all in, I walked away for a couple of seasons when we got relegated but it sucked me back in.
  24. We’ll get a couple of signing followed by the release of the new strips then slowly but surely the board will raise their heads with the “our time, we go again” type of bullshit to get the ST’s selling. It’s so predictable being a Falkirk fan these days.
