  1. Seems sensible for the Tayside clubs to be part of their own league in the future, there are always journeys which stand out due to clubs geography. All dependant if the clubs wish to progress to becoming apart of a feeder league to the HL etc, would give them something to aim, plan for, regarding grounds criteria. Think the other point is that now, some clubs won't really be a loss to the spfl, your time is up !
  2. I should have been in Scotland on sat for 11 days, how do I find the ticket donation thing ? and is it just for spfl clubs I wonder ? Now to look where I could have gone, thanks
  3. The nearest football club is Cefn Cribwr in the S.Wales Alliance, and best wishes with the Gas Legend Ian Holloway, wanted him back but the board weren't interested, sadly. Am from Bristol so have seen loads of games over the bridge.
  4. Think some of the comments show how cosy life is in the spfl, until the threat of HL or LL became a reality. The finances will be much less without the TV payout etc - the players thing is important, clubs will be looking at a different pool of player, takes getting used to. As to the league's, is a 2 hour journey really bad ?
  5. Suppose the downside will stay until there are possible dates for a return, wonder how long a club needs to rebuild ? Guess if the lower club won a play-off, then it would try to keep a majority of those players.
  6. Maybe in some distant universe there will be born some new fangled 'Super League' where the OF can go with teams from smaller countries, so long as travelling is allowed. Then reconstruction can begin or be discarded altogether, just an idea
  7. Turning into a real shambles, do the various leagues communicate with each other at all ? Or is the silence part of a bigger picture, with big news to emerge. The SFA, SJFA etc and the memberships/cups issue seems so confusing - must be an easier way ?
  8. Is this for real ? clowns in the park ? Come on lads just do the decent thing for everyone's sake, we are all missing football but there are bigger things at stake. Not helping matters
  9. Push the SFA into a corner and you may get a response sometime. Am sure there's still something surprising ahead, the Brechin problem appears to be the no promotions or relegations issue. Got a feeling that the Kelty/ Brora story isn't finished yet. Across the football spectrum it sounds like every club at the bottom WILL make an amazing escape, or that's their belief.
  10. Mainly because I didn't hear it season after season, that junior clubs were desperate to progress (maybe im wrong) and move on upwards. Now if clubs aren't happy with the new WOS, at least there's a pyramid / pathway ahead, hopefully !
  11. Obviously the spfl clubs have built a bomb proof house allowing nobody inside, and the fear of disappearing into the LL or HL is as clear as day, running scared. Am not fully up to date with everything, how has the reaction of Berwick fans/club been this season ? Is it just the money that keeps spfl clubs in their cocoon ?
  12. Obvious announcement 'until deaths go right down to almost zero and a vaccine is found, the worrying way viruses passed by people who have done the right things' then there is NO football. We all miss the game but we don't want to start the spread all over again. My last game was Neilston v Pollock where the old fellow died, that was bad enough.
  13. Difficult situation as the season never finished, would have been good to have say PPG across the board, SPL downwards and then possibly have a play off for Kelty,Brora etc prior to next season starting. Also, would it be beneficial to keep the transfer window open throughout the season ? As there's a possibility that such pandemics could be a regular thing, isn't it time to have new rules set in stone re seasons ending and at least the clubs know beforehand.
  14. Ha 3 points for a win, get paid to play football, have say 100 to 50,000 fans watching, after paying their money and people say games are meaningless. I played to win every game, and it meant the world, IF games don't mean anything, why do you bother going ? Wait to get slagged off now
  15. Maybe the obvious number of players who will be out of contract this summer will benefit most clubs- players will have to take what's offered or be unemployed. Some clubs will possibly throw money somehow, best of luck ! Hopefully we'll lose no clubs from any league's despite the financial problems, and the reconstruction (when it happens) can be done properly !
  16. Before the pyramid it seemed the juniors would be happy to continue with possibly the same champions year after year unable/unwilling to progress. If theyd continued as juniors there would probably be no interest in updating grounds etc that's all - random enough for you ?
  17. With the various league boundaries etc,and clubs being out on a limb away from the big cities - is it the league's or the clubs who don't seem keen on allowing everybody into a set up ? Once you get into the H.L / Lowland etc shouldn't these boundaries be relaxed a little ? as these are serious, senior leagues.
  18. I get the idea down south over the dream of being a football league club (daydream but possible) one day. How do clubs feel in Scotland about maybe being a spfl club in say 5-10 years ? And is the licensing thing a brick wall or a stumbling block deliberately put in place ? Just wondering
  19. As the Conference winners will be promoted,I'd give it 2-3 years, when things settle down, and then clubs will probably be in their rightful position in varying league's. Sure the best teams and the best equipped shall rise to the top fairly soon, over confident or what ? Would be easier to split the 20 down to two groups of 10 when things get going, just positive that the Scots have tried to progress - as the juniors had become stagnant, unambitious.
  20. Am possibly a bit insane, but I'd never say tier 8/9 as that's below County League standard. As stated I thought the team's I'd seen were around step 4/5, but if the Auchinleck's, Lowland Lge etc are up around the National League then brilliant. Just out of interest I usually see 30+ games up to Southern Lge and try to get to Scotland 2 or 3 times a season. Happy to be corrected
  21. Fair point, was just going by the games I'd seen, possibly coz I hadn't seen the top end clubs. If they are of step 2/3 that's brilliant, and signs that they really could progress through the leagues. Was meant to be in Scotland next week, will be back asap. Don't do the organised groundhops - right idiots on those !
  22. Being a southern groundhopper,I've been lucky enough to have seen around 75+ junior games recently - all clubs come across very friendly with decent support. The grounds will no doubt be improved before long, the football on a par with possibly step 4/5 down here. (sometimes not ! ) Maybe the juniors are now history, but here's hoping the way forward is a success for everyone.
  23. As the Conference winners will be promoted,I'd give it 2-3 years, when things settle down, and then clubs will probably be in their rightful position in varying league's. Sure the best teams and the best equipped shall rise to the top fairly soon, over confident or what
  24. Maybe all the youth leagues up to say 18 could be summer based, making use of the 3g pitches etc , suppose the cricket folk might moan a bit. The senior lges would never change to summer, too much for them to reorganise. Fair idea though
  25. Thanks, the licensing thing throws me at times ! See that it's a clubs choice rather than a League's necessity,Being a non LGE fan down south, our ground grading tends to be over strict and beyond what clubs really need.
