  1. Finding it difficult to let go of the 'junior' tag, like losing a relative. Maybe the new West U20 teams will give all clubs a chance to build up without throwing the money around. Hopefully once the dominant teams win the lge and move up the pyramid, then maybe the divisions will look a bit more even, giving everyone a chance to shine.
  2. Given that 20/21 is likely to be different to normal, would it be reasonable for the 20 team division to be split into two 10 team divisions,18 games plus cups plus bad weather p-p games maybe easier to fit into a later start. Also as it's just the Conference winners who go up, will most clubs be happy with this until the divisions are sorted ?
  3. Really starting to look good now, with so many WOS clubs having U20 teams, hopefully very few talented youngsters will be lost to the game - creating a pathway through to the 1st team and beyond. As I said yesterday, why don't the spfl clubs say use our training grounds etc if pitches are hard to find ? Go on be generous !
  4. Correct, the colts already play in the cups, England & Scotland, not set the world alight yet. Why should they be shoe-horned into the spfl ahead of the likes of Kelty,Brora ? Put the young pups down the lges, imagine em playing there, where tackles are still allowed - rather than the tippy-tappy non contact stuff.
  5. Hopefully the EFL meeting this week will bring this sorry saga to an end, how about some leadership from the FA clowns. No doubt PPG will upset some, a decision should have been made to cover all football. Maybe it's back to Div 3 North and South like the old days, if only for a few seasons to give all a chance to rebuild.
  6. Only a quickie, the Irish FA statement on the Amateur forum is interesting and sensible I think- least it gives an insight into how training could be re-introduced. At least its a positive start eh. Now back to the Tut v Glensmad confrontation how are the judges scoring ?
  7. The Irish FA plan appears sensible regarding a return to training, all the hygiene stuff in place etc - still have the unknown of who may be infected though. Guess you let them give it a go, and see if anything crops up after a month or so. Be helpful if there was an affordable and reliable test everyone could buy, of course.
  8. Could anyone use Petershill on a Friday ? Wasn't there a 3g next to Scotstoun rugby ? Bit far fetched, but why don't the spfl help these clubs, can't be using their 3g/grass training pitches all the time ? Have tried to see if all the Sports Centres would fit the criteria, sure you have better knowledge than myself !
  9. That the one that Rangers Chelsea etc play in ? If that be the case, then why stir up the Colts thing all over again. Realise that someone wants to be the saviour of Scottish football, just needs a different outlook from maybe people not currently involved in any club - maybe wrong.
  10. Wouldn't Beith be an example of the 'caged ground' with spectators standing outside ? Hopefully all the clubs get booked up with a regular ground, before it causes problems with cancellations etc.
  11. Thought it would be expensive, just going by prices down here in Bristol. Guessing most Fridays will be on council or school 3g unless (junior) senior grounds were available. Seen plenty of 3g pitches on my travels in Scotland, unsure if they meet criteria however.
  12. As with all big clubs, they attract fans from all over but when it's either development/reserve or FA Youth Cup in England, then they couldn't give a damn. Go and create some European Colts LGE then the big boys can run and jump, or maybe the Icelandic lge have a few spaces to fill. If the big clubs had say 4,500 for home colts games then they may have a (basket) case.
  13. Could it be on donations into a bucket then,be more than happy to pay /donate £5 upwards as the pitches must be around the £75 to hire, plus referee. Depending when the season starts, think 18 games plus one cup should be workable. Glad some of the strong youth clubs are deciding to link up without losing their identity.
  14. Really hope the season kicks off with poss 30 teams, (3 X 10 ? ) Can see the grounds being the main issue, with possible late switches similar to the spfl reserve set up. Would be nice to see crowds of 50+ paying whatever, going towards pitch and ref fees, costly affair these days. Positive times thankfully.
  15. Agree, that was my last game in Scotland amid the heavy snow. Seemed a nice friendly club, liked the ground too. Was anything ever done following the fan's death outside the ground, help the family etc ? Good luck in the future, sound well respected in (junior) circles etc.
  16. Watched a few games from outside the cage, not very enjoyable to be honest. Guess the least would have to be a permanent barrier and not just a rope, hopefully all fans and clubs use common sense next season. Maybe it'll be like the kid's barriers they use at games, just portable things. Suppose the probable lack of numbers at games makes this slightly unimportant ?
  17. Just throwing this in,as being down in England I don't see/hear all the news from Scotland : has there been anything about whether any clubs were close to folding ? As to Arthurlie training, maybe they all wore body bags, masks, gloves, to stop the spread - why are these clubs jumping the gun, go back when it's safe, very clear to understand.
  18. Excuse my ignorance but are all the grumblings coming from clubs who would have got relegated anyway, bar for a Lazarus (think that's right) type finish to the season ? I know that great escapes DO happen, and clubs make late surges, but come on. Maybe a side clear at the top could refuse promotion coz they'd get whipped in the lge above - don't declare us champions
  19. A film about Hearts ? Being a Tony Hancock fan 'The Missing Page' or '12 Angry Men' spring to mind. What a dramatic film it could be,not having an ending - wonder if it's a PG or adult ? Maybe they could show it on TV with the UK having a vote - yep Hearts are down ! !
  20. As with Sky and the EFL, they did loads of love games on the red button - couldn't something similar happen ? A tv season ticket sounds good,as people can't get to every game, I'm guessing most games can be found somewhere on the internet etc ? Sure that the 1 camera will be ok,just like the old days.
  21. My apologies, was up and working as a postie so haven't heard any news yet. Will try to give that a look, can imagine the bollocks being spoken.
  22. Should be making a film about Hearts soon, farcical letter, sounds like you have to be rich to play in the Fantasy League, stuff the rest of them. Yes next season may have to be almost an 'interim' until things return to some normality - definitely won't be sustainable behind closed doors. Why can't Hearts concentrate on winning the Championship first-time back ?
  23. The testing of players, whether grounds are suitable, the transport thing, etc just things like that.Sorry for confusing everyone the crowd number was based on the German figures for their games. Shall try to explain my comments better in future, remember I'm English !
  24. Suppose for clever,I guess the scientific folk with supposedly all the answers to covid19 etc. They seem to steer the government into making decisions (maybe wrong) and announce when things can be done. So long as the clubs and players feel safe, then I'd be happy to watch games. Being 58 I'm nearly Inthe 'old' group I guess !
