Junior football, what is the future?
Andy groundhopper replied to Burnie_man's topic in Junior Football
With the shambles almost complete now,and the SFA/SPFL trying to create a 'closed shop' where are any guarantees that future LL/HL champions will get a chance to progress ? Obvious to include the bigger, better senior clubs into the spfl asap, try to inject some life into the stagnant mediocrity of spfl2. -
As with the Restriction of Trade thing that Hearts are tossing around, if the spfl say 20/21 starts in October - surely no club can say we aren't gonna play ? Must be a refusal of something beyond my brainpower ! Don't think clubs want to play behind closed doors, that's all, lack of income a fair point. Will tell my boss tmrw of which days I want to work

Think the geography of clubs means we'll always have this debate, unless a more Central League at HL/LL level is created, then someone is always gonna be upset. Maybe a creation of a new city the size of Glasgow needs to be done somewhere,a new powerhouse -
Maybe there are a number of youth clubs folding - hopefully now players 18+ can see a way through to the 1st team and possibly earning some sort of living from the game. I see this as a pathway from the youth clubs upwards , youth clubs don't usually want to go any further than possibly U18, which is fair enough. Let's be negative and say it will all collapse, what an idiot.

Not wanting to belittle the virus, but it's interesting how much safer we demand the grounds to become pro covid19 - but prior to this,we couldn't really care a less, as said, non Lge grounds are basic and probably unhygienic - but we all turned up and ate the food, drank the beer etc. Confusing when you hear the MP's trying to lower the social distance (for economic reasons)

Main argument against the Colts is - what happens IF they win the divisions, no way will you have them in the SPL - so give it a rest. European youth lge, various Scottish Cups and the Reserve Lge. How much more do you want ?

Agree,we see the lack of interest with the Premier babies playing in the Caribou Cup. If the young bucks want to play in the league, get out on loan and grow up quick !

Quite right, I turn the colour off on my TV in a bid to get a cheaper licence. Can't imagine watching Bilko or the Marx Bros in colour ! I know they think it's for everyone's benefit, imagine Reserve teams in the English Leagues, oh the uproar !

Think the only cast-iron way to have stopped the ongoing saga was : end season, null and void,NO champions and NO relegation, end of. The constant snivelling and ass licking, just to avoid being relegated has been embarrassing. Simple answer, Hearts FC win the Championship with EVERY home game sold out, the big club returns blah blah

That's it then, stuff the lot of em and bring back the progressive ambitious Juniors, that's what we really all want. No one really wants to join the crumbling pyramid and move forward, they were all bullied by the Mob Let's go back and pay 6s to get in, and watch everything in black & white.

My best wishes to everyone who has lost a family member to covid19, hopefully it will soon be behind us. I'd be ok going back to a game, the mask and gloves compulsory ? Sure that a crowd of 4-500 has enough intelligence to stand apart and obey all the rules. Maybe we all need to be tested as insurance, let's hope the deaths decrease asap. All down to the clubs and players really.

Naughty but nice, just when will their tiresome appeals finally end ? Hope the silly division splits, play-offs or whatever just doesn't happen, all very boring. How about doing a rugby union type thing, leaders are 20pts clear, then do a top 4 mini LGE only for the leaders to f**k up - hilarious.Imagine Liverpool doing this ? I'd laugh.

Junior football, what is the future?

Are there any meetings ahead, regarding the future of the North Juniors ? Would be excellent to see them below the Highland, give clubs something to aim for. Or are the majority of the North juniors happy to stay where they are, at that level. -
Premiership relegation

Now I don't know what to believe anymore ,I took it all as gospel truth (stupidly) when it was all announced. Think I'm going into meltdown, but it all seems that regarding the WOSFL and it's relevant tiers, the SFA just can't organise the proverbial piss up As said by other posts, New league, new rules. -
A Miracle If Next Season Even Happens
Andy groundhopper replied to Crazy Feet's topic in Amateur Football
Be interesting to see what happens when the pub's re-open, if the distancing is still in place, whether teams would bother. Yeah players could turn up in their kit, how about those who don't drive ? The costs will be very important to every club, it's around £75 a game down in Bristol, once you start asking £5+ just to play, gets difficult. Hoping every club survives and that the players stick around, even if it's next year.
