  1. The Lowland League isn't in competition with the EoS, and vice-versa.
  2. That's wild. So the Heid Bummer of the SJFA who's purpose is to promote and expand the Junior Cup back to what it once was as well as the game itself, could potentially be Heid Bummer of the WoSFL who are part of 4-way agreement to run the South Challenge Cup, and the prime Senior league in the West of Scotland. If that's not a conflict of interest I don't know what is.
  3. Is he required to resign his position with the SJFA? I recall a candidate to the EoS Board was disallowed due to his involvement with the SJFA. Conflict of interest.
  4. I heard this today. First proposal apparently is to make the South Challenge Cup non-compulsory, a complete co-incidence of course. What's going on in the West, do they want to wind the clock back to the 1960's?
  5. Good result for Burnie. Being "best of the rest" has to be the aim. Not been to many games this season but from what I understand, long term injuries to important players plus the departure of our main striker to Linlithgow, has lead to erratic form whilst the squad undergoes a rebuild. Some very good U20's players in the pipeline, top of their league currently. Happy with mid-table obscurity this season.
  6. I messaged him a couple of weeks back with a correction to one of the attendances, which he hasn't even read yet. Perhaps he isn;t using the forum anymore?
  7. You've only just read them, yet you red dotted my post on one of them almost 3 weeks ago My post read "......perhaps just another troll ID" which is a reasonable assumption given the profile was deleted (which happens when moderators boot out trolls) and based on years worth of trolls infecting this forum.
  8. Callum Carson leaving is probably a death blow to the WLC having any sort of decent non-league coverage. That said he clearly couldn't cover every game - and his priority was Livvy on a Saturday - so relied on clubs themselves sending in match reports/news which he would include where he could, even match pics. Not every club did that so they didn't get much coverage, and then complained about it! Callum done a lot for the non-league game in WL in his 10? years at the Courier. Not sure who now does it but perhaps with shrinking sales they are covering more than just sport.
  9. Interesting time to get rid of your management team.
  10. Went to the game on Saturday, thought Laurie Devine was one of your better players which was good to see, involved in a lot going forward. Good to see him progressing. MOTM was your keeper who stopped it being two or three to Hearts in the first half.
  11. That's why I said it's pretty unlikely. Any new club would probably look to start in the amateurs anyway to find their feet. Anyway, the WoSFL have made their decision whilst maintaining a closed door policy until someone leaves. Let's see how that all pans out.
  12. There's many Community Clubs who exist quite happily without an adult team, they don't need anywhere to go. Some may choose to field an amateur side of course, but they shouldn't be obligated to in order to apply at some unspecified point in the future. Clubs can meet all the requirements of the WoSFL facilities wise without the need to have an adult team until they actually apply.
  13. I'm not sure that being forced to go through SAFA proves anything to be honest, amateurs is literally a whole different ball game. The points you raised can be addressed by more stringent processes such as no ground sharing and proper facilities.
  14. Community Youth Clubs will continue to play in youth football, they don't need to go anywhere. Clubs that are already amateur don't need to go anywhere. Clubs that perhaps don't even exist don't need to go anywhere. The only issue that needed addressing in the west, and still needs addressing, is the closed door to accessing the league.
  15. A club can play wherever they like, what shouldn't happen is they are obligated to join the SAFA before being eligible to apply to the WoSFL.
  16. Not at all, feel free to counter anything I've said.
  17. Agreed, it's a fairly outdated principle and one which England got rid of in 1974.
  18. None of it makes any sense, regardless of which amateur league is involved. Your post merely underlined it. Let clubs outside of the Pyramid choose whatever path best suits them/prepares them for any future application to senior football.
  19. Take a step back. If the amateur league covering a particular area has no member clubs close to being at a level to move to senior football [your words] or have any ambition to, how can it be an attractive place to play for clubs that are? why should any club waste their time playing in that environment for an indeterminate period of time with no guarantee at the end of it? why do they need to, what is the benefit? none of it makes any sense.
  20. I was there last night, to say I was shocked at the state of the pitch is an understatement. I can honestly say it's the worst I have seen at any senior level (tier 1-tier 9) of football for a very long time. It pished down all second half which made things worse as well, there were areas of the pitch where it barely bounced. Praise to the auld guy at half time walking around with a fork, his level of ambition was admirable. Sharing with Broomhill appears a bonkers decision from an outsiders perspective.
