  1. They're not doing the league winner out of a chance, because the league winner wouldn't have a licence so can't enter the play-off anyway. You're not denying anyone of anything.
  2. We could have a situation next season where St.Cadocs, Whitburn and Creetown are the three Champions. Creetown automatically promoted as the other two unlicenced. Good for the Pyramid?
  3. As I said, it's called being pragmatic and making the best of what you have. The LL are unlikely to change the relegation rules until the SPFL change theirs, hence impass. Will it change because tier 6 want it to? probably not until the balance in LL membership tips more towards former Junior clubs. In the meantime, the LL probably don't care that much about how tier 6 find a club to be promoted, so that at least can be addressed to try and ensure that three clubs take part in the play-off every year. The WoS is now a damp squib, it may well have been a little more interesting if second place offered a chance in the play-off. You don't like that idea, fair enough, but others do and helps move the Pyramid forward just a little more.
  4. That's a different matter and one which isn't going to change anytime soon, so perhaps be pragmatic about it and make the best of what is currently on offer to increase promotion opportunities for licenced clubs. Re relegation, I'm not sure what the issue is with that scenario. If the WoS Champion, second, or third win the play-off makes absolutely no difference. You place too much emphasis on Champions only being promoted.
  5. Does it really matter if you play the other two Champions in the play-off, or two third places? Not really. If you're good enough you'll win and go up. I don't get your point re relegation or running up scores.
  6. I don't disagree it may not be easy to get agreement, but if nobody tries then it definitely won't happen.
  7. Top three in the WoS, EoS, SoS should be eligible for the play-off, the highest placed licenced club in each league (as at 31st March) taking part. That would resolve issues such as Beith blocking the pathway from the WoS (although I appreciate it's not neccesarily their intention). As has been pointed out, if Airdrie can potentially play their way into the Premiership after finishing 4th, then I don't see what the issue is with applying a similar scenario at tier 6.
  8. Broxburn win the EoS, and in the WoS two points (probably one) will secure the title for Beith who of course have no licence. So almost certainly Broxburn v Dalbeattie/Creetown for a place in the LL.
  9. Sad news. Only ever met him a few times when he came to the occasional Blackburn game, and was surprised when he told me he was on the Eyemouth committee. Nice guy. RIP Brian.
  10. Sadly there's rarely a few hundred there, 50 last night I think. Fairly soulless place when virtually empty, like most grounds. Not sure how Tynecastle sustain the level they're at.
  11. Assuming that's right, what on earth are they doing risking the clubs future by doing that? By all means, projects like this are welcome IF you have the cash/backing to do it with no impact to the club.
  12. I'm trying to work out what they mean. I assume the club have put money into a charitable pursuit based on promises of investment. That investment hasn't happened and now the club have a financial hole to fill? It's hard to work out really.
  13. I think something happened on the Bo'ness thread and he took the huff.
  14. I feel sorry for the Non League Matters forum.
  15. I think sometimes the SPFL just troll tier 5 for the bantz. Yes we all know the HL Champs will get an invite, but following hard on the heels of play-off refusal, it just makes the SPFL look clueless. Again.
  16. .....an hour had elapsed, and the noisy dot matrix printer was still churning out the list.
  17. Long term it probably is, but depends how much a Doctor costs for 15-20 home games when you don't actually need one in tier 5, plus other associated costs. That's the dilemma, and clubs who are in with the chance of the play-offs will take it right to the wire as they wont want to be shelling out more than neccesary if they don't get to the play-offs. A set one year derogation to complete the Bronze process, upon promotion, would go a long way to helping clubs, as would the removal of the doctor requirement which seems excessive.
  18. Yip you're right, just found an old SFA email which is the payment in Dec 2021; • Entry Level clubs will receive £10,000 (CL award £4,000 plus £6,000 Euro bonus) • Bronze Level clubs will receive £20,000 (CL award £8,000 plus £12,000 Euro bonus) • Silver Level clubs will receive £30,000 (CL award £12,000 plus £18,000 Euro bonus) • Gold Level clubs will receive £40,000 (CL award £16,000 plus £24,000 Euro bonus) • Platinum Level clubs will receive £50,000 (CL award £20,000 plus £30,000 Euro bonus) Clubs should receive another Euro bonus payment this year due to Scotland qualifying for Euro24.

  20. From memory it's level within the Pyramid as opposed to licence.
  21. Are Peebles still moving out of Whitestone Park for next season?
  22. I'm fairly sure not many people would shed any tears if they did. It's literally a pointless existence.
  23. For I'm the type of boy Who is always on the roam Wherever I lay my hat That's my home I'm telling you, that's my home.......
  24. All correct until 4) It's Hearts B as runners-up, not Cowdenbeath.
