Aye. I came here to post that. I suppose it would be worthwhile IF they went and interviewed the same charmless bunch at full time. That would be fun.

That's absolutely honking about the march in Inverness (I'm married to an Invernessian, hence ICT being my Wee Team). There was an Orange walk in Kirkie to mark one of the ex-Queen's jubilees. To her credit, she was probably less than thrilled by it. Then and now there was no Orange Lodge in the town so it was yet another crazy act by the loons of East Dunbartonshire Cooncil to permit it. It went along the main street just before my bus did. Held up about twenty minutes it was. I hate Orangemen

Meant to bring this up, er, three months ago but at Christmas I was listening to the Off the Ball best-of-2023 programme (yes, there really was one). The had clips from a programme where KMaC and his brother were guests. Tam seemed over-eager to defend KMaC from complaints about a Rangers supporter presenting Sportsound. That of course, isn't the complaint most of us would make. For me there are two 1) Too much attention to the Old Firm (not the same thing as moaning about an OF-supporting presenter. That's inevitable, and supporting an Ugly doesn't necessarily mean your presenting will be biased) 2) Tabloidy, Radio Clydey, shouty, confrontation-encouraging presenting style. Richard Gordon the day. Chalk and cheese.

Oddly on Rangers Media most of their semi-literates were embarrassed by Plastic Bertrand's stroppy stomp up the tunnel. 'Not Rangers class' one of them said. I refrain from commenting.

Telly? Book? Radio? Nah. RangersMedia it is.....

Butland a cinch for England now...
-
Since Butland is now the bestest maist brulliant keeper in the known universe, will Ranjurs fans turn against England for not picking him?

The lesson for proper fitba teams against the uglies is always if you get chances, take them.

Well, yes, but the local glory hunters are not mentioned in RFC Memoranda to the SPFL when an away match some distance from Ibrox is called off.

Ideal scenario would have been Noahic rain overnight, pitch unplayable by 7am, but no postponement announced until c11am by which time the blootered blue hordes are peeing en masse by the roadside a few miles north of the Kessock Bridge as forestry lorries and Citylink buses whizz past. What a read RangersMedia woulda bin.

Reform UK going from strength to strength.
KirkieRR replied to DrChomChom's topic in The Politics Forum
Whole I admit that the SNP, for whom I usually vote, seem incompetent and out of their depth in running the country, Reform UK, like UKIP before them, seem incompetent and out if their depth in running their own party. Why would you vote for them to run the country? Can't you find, ahem, a nice, well-run right-wing party? -
Actually, fair point. I'd forgotten about Scotstoun.

Nae athletics stadium. Or could we be silly and have indoors athletics? It would be great but the athletics issue is a deal-breaker. I went to one of the World Indoors Athletics sessions at the Emirates in March. On the walk from Dalmarnock Station it was grim - litter-encrusted verges and hedgerows, wasteground left over from the 2014 works, graffiti everywhere, even on road signs, general signs of grubbiness and neglect. Do we really want to show ourselves off when we're such a mess?
-
That's certainly true. Last couple of matches I've been at I should have been surrounded by people (going by the wee map on the ticket site), and I wasn't.

To be fair, a deid MP might still be better than some live ones, but not a Reform one, live or deid. -

Queen's Park 🕷🕸 v 🔴🔵 The Caley
KirkieRR replied to Stephen Malkmus's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
The QPFC online ticketing system wouldn't accept my payment for an away ticket earlier. Either it has a glitch or I'm a bankrupt. -
I never stay up for election night programmes (they're boring) but from what I've seen, Portillo responded to his defeat with grace and humour - and I didn't like him then and I don't like him now. Now, that nasty toff piece of work Ian Lang in 1992: seething, seething, his scowl betraying how humiliating it was to have to be voted in - or out- by the lower orders. Of course, he didn't have to be. He was quickly ennobled and is a pernicious Tory influence in the Lords still.
