  1. Fotheringham definitely highly rated but very young and inexperienced. Might take a few games to bed in but I'm excited to see how he performs. Neilson I'd expect (if given the game time) to really show up well. He is a big strong guy for 17 and has certainly looked good in spells for us this season in big matches so I'd have high hopes for him. Has a bit of pace about him and very comfy on the ball. All about working on his defensive awareness and decision making.
  2. Afternoon all. Friendly reminder that United are doing virtual tickets for Sunday. £5 a pop and there is a specific away fans draw that you guys can enter and there are some free ticket and hospo prizes for the next United v Celtic game at Tannadice once fans are allowed in. Link below: https://soldouttannadice.co.uk/collections/frontpage/products/away-end-virtual-ticket
  3. The thing with the offside was that the free kick can be taken from where the player "became active" which means the area of the pitch where their run started which led to them being offside. Dillo didnt know that. As did, I'm sure, very few people. Doesnt mean you can now be offside from yer own half.
  4. Seeing rumours we've had another Covid issue - anyone got inside info?
  5. Would take the Souttar brothers at United right now in a heartbeat.
  6. Certainly not unpopular. I think thats a fact. Both have been OK with one or two horrific errors. Reynolds distribution is what is really starting to let him down. I saw a graphic of his successful/unsuccessful passes v Hibs. Terrifying. Connolly on the other hand, seems to be able to fire the ball into the feet of a striker. But not much else happens after that.
  7. Watched the whole thing and the comment around mental health wasnt bad in my eyes in the context of what they were talking about. Just not sure why the club has chosen that as the snippet to tempt fans in. Thought the whole interview was excellent.
  8. If we go 442 over the next 4 or 5 matches (in my opinion) we will pick up enough results to basically kill any chance of us being in any kind of relegation battle.
  9. Adds a nice bit of depth to the squad. Would like to think the guys that were playing in league 1 might see some minutes. Freeman especially. Excited to see what Mochrie can offer too.
  10. Great news about Clark. And some more news, rumours that all of our players out on loan have returned to the club.
  11. By the sounds of things, the contract talk with Clark was ongoing for a while. It was in the papers a couple months back that it was being discussed and he mentioned in his DUTV interview with Sean Dillon that he wanted to stay. Maybe his agent leaked the Dundee story just to push United along a little bit? Fair play. I'm delighted we look to be keeping him. Anyone who doesnt rate what he brings to the team doesnt really understand football in my opinion. Quality player. I would have been gutted if he left. Now get Liam Smith signed up next. The rest of the out of contract first teamers can go with my best wishes.
  12. Why would we want to help a player that has agreed to sign for our rivals? I don't understand why anyone would want to see him in a United shirt again. I have no ill feeling towards him, but I'd rather we play someone who is going to be here next season etc.
  13. Holy moly. Do we haunt your dreams that much that you have to come on a thread that has nothing to do with your tinpot club and comment on why a game was postponed? Strange one. Edit to add - just realised you are a Saints fan. Still a very strange rant. All the best x
  14. What bit of difference would he have made? Can he unfreeze grass with his bare hands? Covid protocals clearly the reason. Plus did he f**k actually go and offer help. Load of shite
  15. No goals or assists in the league this season for McMullan. I think he got an assist in one of the league cup games. Brechin maybe? I think when he has come in and started games this year he has been OK. Killie and Motherwell at home specifically he looked fairly decent. If Dundee were to be in the Championship next season then its a great signing. If they get promoted then he is just a decent squad player, similar to what he has been for us this season. If he goes in January I'd like to see us replace him but with everything going on I just cant see it. Zero incomings for me this month I think. Unless we do bring back some boys from Loan spells. Hoti maybe being the most likely? Seen lots of calls for Mochrie to return. Not for me. Give him the season out there, playing 90 mins every week and the player we'll get back in the summer will be so much more than he is now. He is getting rave reviews, let it run.
  16. Can see another solid performance from United. Hibs still look a bit suspect at the back now and again with a few new players settling in. Having said that, I cant see them not scoring against United so I'll go for a repeat of the SC game last season and say 2-2. Nisbet to be marked out the game easily by Reynolds as he was in the first two games of last season. Doidge with the goals for Hibs and Harkes and Connolly with United's goals.
  17. Nothing official about Shankland but I've heard it from a few different people so wouldnt be surprised to see him not in the squad at all tomorrow.
