  1. When you start attributing things to me that I haven’t said, then I think that’s about time to call it a day.
  2. "The last few seasons" equating to the season we won the league? Celtic have since spent €32m more than us...
  3. I'm not sure what your argument is here. Are you implying that spending more money on wages and transfer fees doesn't tend to get you better players the majority of the time?
  4. If a team spends more on players in both wages and transfer outlay, it is safe to assume the calibre of player they can attract is higher. I don't know how else I can put that across as it is just simple logic I'd imagine. Your question regarding Morelos is a bit of a false equivalence. Morelos at his peak when he signed his last contract was a better player than either Kyogo or GG are now. Hence why he is currently paid more than them. They may go on to improve beyond that level, and their contracts will no doubt reflect that. Morelos has also dropped below his level, but you can't just reduce a players salary to reflect their form. Again though, I am unsure how anyone can argue against the fact that paying more money on transfer fees and wages means 9 times out of 10 you are getting a better player. In the last 2 seasons Celtic have spent 50 million euros on incoming transfers in comparison to Rangers' 18 million euros. They will be paying more than us in wages as well I'd imagine so it's no surprise a Rangers squad that is stale and desperately needed investment has fallen behind. (figures taken from Transfermarkt for both teams)
  5. There is a more recent set of figures that the Swiss Ramble has studied than the one's noted previously. That was from 2021 showing there is still a £4m gap from Celtic to Rangers in terms of wages. We will always be working historically given the amount of time companies are offered to submit their year end accounts.
  6. Read what I'm actually typing. The more you spend on a player, the better they are likely to be. Do you agree? Regardless if Celtic bring in more money when selling players, they still spend more on the players they bring in than Rangers do. Meaning their squad will always be filled with players that cost more than Rangers players do. I don't know how you can dispute that?
  7. No, we were discussing player wages and then transfer outlay. How much you bring in for player sales does not negate the amount spent on players coming in. The more you spend on a player (wages and transfer fee), the better they are likely to be. I don’t think that can be debated at all? And the basic fact is Celtic spend more on their players than Rangers do.
  8. But we're not looking at a club's financial health here. We are looking at the quality of player at their disposal and it is simple to conclude that the more you spend on a player then the better they are likely to be.
  9. Transfer deficit doesn't really determine anything though. Your transfer spend determines the quality of player you bring in. Celtic have heavily outspent Rangers over the years. That's why net spend doesn't account for much. Even if Celtic's net transfer spend is lower than ours, they are still spending more than us when purchasing players which means they are (theoretically) bringing in higher quality players.
  10. I did wonder this myself. The source is probably a Celtic blog account he is using.
  11. Michael Beale will probably pass at this stage if he is already being approached for (and knocking back) premier league gigs. If we could somehow tempt Bielsa, that would be an interesting choice, but I’m not sure we’d afford him.
  12. His European achievements can only get him so far when domestic success is generally the measure of a Rangers manager. I’m also not sure why we wouldn’t be able to advocate for a new manager. Just because we wanted Gio in the first place means we can’t believe his time is up? Weird logic that.
  13. Think the Gio reign has run its course now with a big clear out required. His style just doesn’t suit us, the constant backwards recycling of possession just to keep a hold of the ball holds us back and we don’t have any impetus or penetration. Do it now and give someone new the World Cup break to get to work.
  14. Duk starting to get a wee bit of a reputation as a diver then after a couple in a row.
  15. So, that was kind of my point. Celtic fans seem to believe that Leipzig have improved significantly from a 4th placed finish and a European semi-final last season just because it suits them.
  16. Leipzig finished fourth in the Bundesliga last season and made it to the semi-final of a European competition. Does that equate to much difference between them then and now? I've just enjoyed the changing in opinions from Celtic fans on this (not just here, more so on twitter) where they had Leipzig down as a diddy team in May when we put them out. We then got a doubling down of this in August when the CL draw was made - they had to claim that 2nd place was achievable after branding them diddies just 3 months prior. And now, just a couple of months later we are being told they are a very good team Rangers fans will always claim Leipzig were a good team as it adds more weight to our Europe League run. Celtic fans will always claim they were diddies as it takes away credit from our Europa league run. I get that, now it's just funny that the opinions have changed after your meetings with them.
  17. Interesting to see that (apparently) the Swedish league has just had 9 of their 16 topflight clubs vote against the introduction of VAR. Not entirely sure of the detail, just wondering why there would be such a contrast in the number of clubs supporting it compared to us.
  18. So aye, I'm taking from that you agree your comparisons with Pedro and Murty were disingenuous. Cheers.
  19. So I am safe to assume you are also ignoring reality with the rest of your comments as well.
  20. Firstly, your question was do I think GVB is worse than Caixinha or Murty. Anyone looking at that question objectively will arrive at the same conclusion: no, he isn't. If you are suggesting otherwise based on his European record alone, then there's no point continuing the debate given what Gio achieved for us in Europe last season. Even qualifying for the CL this season and getting spanked in the group stage is more than Pedro or Murty achieved. Secondly, you have implied that I rate him so highly for something that I did not know he had, nor do I know what a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau is. For one, I haven't said I rate him highly and I have been critical of his team. The original post of mine you actually quoted was me being critical of him... But to suggest that he is worse than Caixinha or Murty is simply moronic. I don't take you for a moron, so I can only assume you are being disingenuous in your arguments. ETA: I've just googled this Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassua and it seems this is a military and civil award for special merits for society and has no religious basis whatsoever. Yeah, good homework you've done on that
