  1. Anyone noticed before that Jack Ross looks like Racist Daryl from Peep Show?
  2. Absolutely shocked to see a poster such as yourself getting furious over nothing
  3. No that arsed about the score tbh I’ll spend my afternoon counting how many of our team/coaching staff are booed.
  4. Fair enough, cheers for the responses. General consensus seems to be that we don’t know unless we try it which I wouldn’t be against, getting to go to different grounds and such like. And I suppose it would make derbies more special, for example I gave the last Edinburgh derby a miss, knowing we’re likely to play them at least another 3 times this season and I probably wouldn’t have if there were only 2 per year. Personally I’m a fan of the split, games against the clubs directly around you when you’re competing for positions has generated loads of excitement, the 17/18 season where Hibs played out a 5-3 win and a 5-5 draw in the battle for Europe in our last two home games was sensational. Do tend to enjoy the relegation scraps too (when we’re not involved).
  5. Genuinely curious, for the people that want the league to be extended to 16/18. Assuming we play eachother twice that would reduce the amount of league games we play to either 30 or 34 games. How do you plan for clubs to sign up to that? It would reduce the money coming in as it would be less gate money from less games, less derbies and all that comes along with that. I’m not knocking the idea but I’m just not sure how it makes sense for any club from a financial perspective, other than for the 4 clubs that would be promoted as a result.
  6. Just read the last 13 pages and I’m honestly absolutely shocked that St Johnstone fans are furious, it’s not like them. The investigation itself, well, part of me is skeptical, the patter about reducing the clubs in the league is shite and I really hope we avoid that but I don’t hold too much faith that we will, however there is absolutely 0 chance of that being voted through anyway. The other part of Ron Gordon that gives me the fear is pricing, ticket prices have shot up for Hibs since his arrival and while that may not affect this directly, it wouldn’t shock me if he inflicted those ideas on others, I was told he was asking staff around the place if they think people would pay £40 for a derby ticket the other week. On a more positive side though, they’re absolutely aware in our failings from a marketing perspective. Again, going back to Mr Gordon, he’s spoken about having club shops in airports and in city centres to improve the brand worldwide and about the passion of our supporters in this country being our USP, so if they could use that to build the brand and reputation that could be fruitful, although I’m not sure how that’ll happen. It’s safe to say I’m skeptical about this and what benefit it’ll actually bring and for that matter if anything will actually change off the back of it in honesty. Oh yeah and f**k Deloitte.
  7. Good shouts to be fair, at the risk of marrying the two of the players you mention above but it is there not a young guy called Liam Smith at Man City? Sure he’s a winger.
  8. So, for 2026, I’m gonna stick with the same formation to make it easy. GK - Murray Johnson - yes I’m including his full name because he may well be working at IKEA in 5 years but a really highly thought of 16 year old keeper at Hibs, already in Scotlands U19s and I think we turned down a bid from Wolves for him of around £250k, still he could well be at Spartans by the time he’s 22, we don’t really have any exciting names. LCB - Kieran Tierney CB - Leon King - young boy at Rangers, on the basis hes tremendous on football manager he’s going in RCB - Stephen Welsh - if Celtic keep him around surely he’ll be good one day LWB - Josh Doig/Andy Robertson - Robertson will be 32 but still kicking a baw with Doig coming in to rotate in his old age CM - Billy Gilmour - I’ll be devastated if I’m wrong CM - Lewis Ferguson CM - John McGinn - will be 30 and probably playing for Celtic but still doing things with that arse of his RWB - Nathan Patterson/Calvin Ramsey - It doesn’t take a genius to predict it’ll be one of these two, can’t really pick so a cop out from me ST - Che Adams ST - Ethan Laidlaw - file under Murray Johnson, another Hibs young talent who’s been on trial at Liverpool and Leeds already with Man Utd coming in for him, 16 years old, scored a hat trick for Scotland U17s last week, may be playing for Man Utd, may be working in a call centre The only other exciting player I can think of is Aaron Hickey but with our full back options make it difficult to fit him in, look forward to seeing him tried in centre midfield or something. Appreciate I’ve picked 2 players at Hibs that could amount to nobodies but stick to what you know.
  9. If you’ve read anything above you’ll know that’s not the case, 24 year old here not due my second till the 28th. First was originally 13/07 but had to delay till 03/08 due to picking up covid in July. 3 others in the thread in the same boat, aswell.
  10. Reached out to a mate who works at a Scottish media company. He won’t have the final say but he’s going to ask around to see if anyone will run a story, will keep you updated. Seen at least 2 folk on here affected, 1 other of my mates and a few folk on the Tartan Army Facebook page too.
  11. As much as I’m desperate to go to the game, I’m not so desperate I’d be willing to compromise my morals to the point I would speak to The Sun.
  12. Any idea of a starting point for taking this forward?
  13. I was thinking along those lines, suspect we’ll here more as time goes on.
  14. 8 weeks from my 1st takes me to the 28th, would need to be the 25th or earlier, they don’t let you get one less than 8 weeks prior
  15. Taken from here - https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-mandatory-vaccine-certification/ As someone aged 18+ who can’t get their second dose until the 28th of September I’m absolutely fizzing about this. I’m already unhappy at the law being passed for ethical reasons but this totally fucks me over. Already bought tickets for the Scotland game only 11 days after my second vaccine. Does this mean I won’t be allowed to go? Through no fault of my own. I cannot stress this enough, f**k this government. Absolutely delighted I cancelled my Green Party membership, clearly shown they don’t have any backbone and don’t stand by the views that they supposedly have.
  16. I grabbed mine last night in G6 in the south, I didn’t see any tickets in the upper go on sale although a quick twitter search looks like we put 4 of the blocks on sale, I suspect there will be some more available, assume some of the seats will be affected by the red zone shite aswell.
  17. Oh bloody hell. Take your best orgasm and multiply the feeling by twenty and you’re still nowhere near even close. That’s just the type of game we never seem to get anything from, let alone get a win. We were imperious and although watching it with the emotion invested was hardly comfortable, I reckon if there were any neutrals tuned in they’d have thought Austria could still be playing now and not have scored, can only recall Gordon being tested once. Really liking the Gilmour, McGinn, McGregor trio and it has to be how we work going forward, all 3 were terrific with a special mention to McGregor who sometimes deservedly gets lots of slack and he was faultless tonight. Our defence though, Grant Hanley and Jack Hendry, both were superb, properly rock solid, it’s all already been said. Adams and Dykes is starting to work a bit better too, Dykes is limited but he doesn’t really need to play well to fit the role/system as long as he’s a pest which he was tonight and while the penalty was lucky as f**k he does the job. Hopefully all the weirdos desperate for Clarke to fail aren’t furious tonight, bring on the Israel game, grabbed 4 tickets in the East Stand just there, heading for a sell out and I honestly canny wait, what a day it’s gonna be, at least until 7:45 anyway. And hey, even Paul McGinn was pretty good when he came on.
  18. Only really made in impact in friendlies, like has been said above his league minutes have been sparing. Did watch him in friendlies against Raith Rovers and Arsenal and he really impressed tbh, scored against Raith and did well playing on the right wing of a 4-2-3-1 and against Arsenal, again playing wide right he was one of our more dangerous players and he had a shot that hit the post, a really strong Arsenal team we were up against too. Friendlies, I know, but I like what I’ve seen so far, looks pretty nimble, could perhaps say lightweight but that’s probably why he’s out on loan, first impressions are that he’s more skilful and more based around agility than speed for a winger. Expected him to be involved in the first team this year in honesty, even stuck him in the fantasy football team as a cheap player I thought would get some game time, picked up an injury just before our competitive stuff started which probably took him back, will keep tabs on it to see how he does.
  19. PoliticsForAli posting clickbait discourse generating bullshit? Imagine my shock.
  20. Personally don’t think Paul McGinn is good enough but boiling the piss of St Johnstone (as always) and Celtic fans after Tony Ralston had 3 good games after 3 years of being shite is always a bit of good patter and like, does it really fucking matter who our back up RB is? He won’t fucking play anyway . Fraser being out is the real blow here, would have been a good option to have and I probably would have started him. I would play; Gordon; Tierney, Hanley, Hendry; Robertson, Gilmour, McGinn, McGregor, O’Donnell; Christie, Adams It seems the most logical way of doing it but tbf Clarke is prone to not doing the most logical thing but we shall see, get away with a draw and I’ll be pleased, Austria are missing a fair few players too, the midfield battle will be key and we really need to do what we do best by pressing high up the pitch. Definitely a good thing that this is the last of the triple headers, obviously as is clearly shown the players are absolutely dropping like flies. Not a fan of one replacement for 3 call offs but that’s not a Steve Clarke specific gripe, it’s always been like that and I’ve no idea why. Win and all is forgiven, draw and it’s still in our hands, lose and it’s pretty much over and pressure starts to mount.
  21. Theres a laddie from Montrose that Alex McLeish said would never get a game for Scotland that plays up front and has scored 4 goals in 8 caps for Australia. And has 17 goals already in 2021….. Also has experience of playing RWB. Shame, that.
  22. Over the past 3 years or so in the league yeah but if you go further back it’s not quite as pleasing. I’ve only seen us win at Tynecastle twice having not missed one since my first (which happened to be the “relegation derby”).
  23. This game absolutely gives me the fear. Both of us riding high at the top of the table and playing some good football, if it was Easter Road I would be really confident. However at Tynecastle I’m just not and for good reason given our recent record. Its giving me that much fear that I’ve booked a weekend away with the Mrs so I can completely avoid the city and the football and I’ve no missed a derby at Tynecastle since Pat Fenlon was in charge and Calum Paterson scored a late winner in 2013. As much as I think Doyle-Hayes and Magennis coming in has improved us loads, partly because they’re good players but also partly because they just allow us to play much better football. But having said that, as well as they’ve played thus far, at their ages do they have the balls to go to Tynecastle and come up against the likes of Haring and Halliday in the middle of the park, I’m not so sure, they’re better footballers but Derby’s rarely come down to who has the better footballers, we’ve had McGinn’s, McGeouch’s, Brown’s, Thomson’s brought below the level of general jobbing premiership midfielders in these Derby’s. Another thing that gives me the fear is Matt Macey. He’s like a cross between Mark Oxley and Ross Laidlaw, something is wrong, we’re conceding more soft goals than we used to, none of them distinctly appear his fault but he just doesn’t command his area or ever do anything that good, cup final penalty save aside. I hope I’m wrong but he’s got a howler in front of the Gorgie Road end written allover him. I would absolutely bite your hand off for a draw right now and I’m just delighted I won’t be in Edinburgh for a headsgone if we lose. Optimistically going to say Hearts 1-1 Hibernian. Boyle to give Hibs a lead, Hibs to miss loads of chances, McGregor/Gogic/Newell or something to get sent off and Liam Boyce to equalise and make it feel like a defeat.
  24. Not a huge fan of that team but I suppose to play the devils advocate I’m assuming we’re looking to stop their full backs which were a huge part of their game at the Euros and putting our strongest 2 players there to combat that I suppose is one way of going about it. Also going by the Tartan Scarf podcast, the Denmark guy they had on said Denmark’s main weakness was on the counter attack in transition so having Adams and Fraser there to try and capitalise that is, I suppose, an option. I know Kenny McLeans never really let us down but I don’t see how having him in there aswell as McGregor and Gilmour makes a lot of sense, lacks a bit of dynamism we’d have got from a Christie/Turnbull, suppose we’ll probably be looking to match up with them and keep it tight and maybe bring them on later on in the game. If I’m right and that’s our gameplan and we lose an early goal and we’re screwed tbh but if we can keep it tight it might do us a turn, whatever happens it’s not gonna be an easy watch.
