  1. Oh bloody hell. Take your best orgasm and multiply the feeling by twenty and you’re still nowhere near even close. That’s just the type of game we never seem to get anything from, let alone get a win. We were imperious and although watching it with the emotion invested was hardly comfortable, I reckon if there were any neutrals tuned in they’d have thought Austria could still be playing now and not have scored, can only recall Gordon being tested once. Really liking the Gilmour, McGinn, McGregor trio and it has to be how we work going forward, all 3 were terrific with a special mention to McGregor who sometimes deservedly gets lots of slack and he was faultless tonight. Our defence though, Grant Hanley and Jack Hendry, both were superb, properly rock solid, it’s all already been said. Adams and Dykes is starting to work a bit better too, Dykes is limited but he doesn’t really need to play well to fit the role/system as long as he’s a pest which he was tonight and while the penalty was lucky as f**k he does the job. Hopefully all the weirdos desperate for Clarke to fail aren’t furious tonight, bring on the Israel game, grabbed 4 tickets in the East Stand just there, heading for a sell out and I honestly canny wait, what a day it’s gonna be, at least until 7:45 anyway. And hey, even Paul McGinn was pretty good when he came on.
  2. Only really made in impact in friendlies, like has been said above his league minutes have been sparing. Did watch him in friendlies against Raith Rovers and Arsenal and he really impressed tbh, scored against Raith and did well playing on the right wing of a 4-2-3-1 and against Arsenal, again playing wide right he was one of our more dangerous players and he had a shot that hit the post, a really strong Arsenal team we were up against too. Friendlies, I know, but I like what I’ve seen so far, looks pretty nimble, could perhaps say lightweight but that’s probably why he’s out on loan, first impressions are that he’s more skilful and more based around agility than speed for a winger. Expected him to be involved in the first team this year in honesty, even stuck him in the fantasy football team as a cheap player I thought would get some game time, picked up an injury just before our competitive stuff started which probably took him back, will keep tabs on it to see how he does.
  3. PoliticsForAli posting clickbait discourse generating bullshit? Imagine my shock.
  4. Personally don’t think Paul McGinn is good enough but boiling the piss of St Johnstone (as always) and Celtic fans after Tony Ralston had 3 good games after 3 years of being shite is always a bit of good patter and like, does it really fucking matter who our back up RB is? He won’t fucking play anyway . Fraser being out is the real blow here, would have been a good option to have and I probably would have started him. I would play; Gordon; Tierney, Hanley, Hendry; Robertson, Gilmour, McGinn, McGregor, O’Donnell; Christie, Adams It seems the most logical way of doing it but tbf Clarke is prone to not doing the most logical thing but we shall see, get away with a draw and I’ll be pleased, Austria are missing a fair few players too, the midfield battle will be key and we really need to do what we do best by pressing high up the pitch. Definitely a good thing that this is the last of the triple headers, obviously as is clearly shown the players are absolutely dropping like flies. Not a fan of one replacement for 3 call offs but that’s not a Steve Clarke specific gripe, it’s always been like that and I’ve no idea why. Win and all is forgiven, draw and it’s still in our hands, lose and it’s pretty much over and pressure starts to mount.
  5. Theres a laddie from Montrose that Alex McLeish said would never get a game for Scotland that plays up front and has scored 4 goals in 8 caps for Australia. And has 17 goals already in 2021….. Also has experience of playing RWB. Shame, that.
  6. Over the past 3 years or so in the league yeah but if you go further back it’s not quite as pleasing. I’ve only seen us win at Tynecastle twice having not missed one since my first (which happened to be the “relegation derby”).
  7. This game absolutely gives me the fear. Both of us riding high at the top of the table and playing some good football, if it was Easter Road I would be really confident. However at Tynecastle I’m just not and for good reason given our recent record. Its giving me that much fear that I’ve booked a weekend away with the Mrs so I can completely avoid the city and the football and I’ve no missed a derby at Tynecastle since Pat Fenlon was in charge and Calum Paterson scored a late winner in 2013. As much as I think Doyle-Hayes and Magennis coming in has improved us loads, partly because they’re good players but also partly because they just allow us to play much better football. But having said that, as well as they’ve played thus far, at their ages do they have the balls to go to Tynecastle and come up against the likes of Haring and Halliday in the middle of the park, I’m not so sure, they’re better footballers but Derby’s rarely come down to who has the better footballers, we’ve had McGinn’s, McGeouch’s, Brown’s, Thomson’s brought below the level of general jobbing premiership midfielders in these Derby’s. Another thing that gives me the fear is Matt Macey. He’s like a cross between Mark Oxley and Ross Laidlaw, something is wrong, we’re conceding more soft goals than we used to, none of them distinctly appear his fault but he just doesn’t command his area or ever do anything that good, cup final penalty save aside. I hope I’m wrong but he’s got a howler in front of the Gorgie Road end written allover him. I would absolutely bite your hand off for a draw right now and I’m just delighted I won’t be in Edinburgh for a headsgone if we lose. Optimistically going to say Hearts 1-1 Hibernian. Boyle to give Hibs a lead, Hibs to miss loads of chances, McGregor/Gogic/Newell or something to get sent off and Liam Boyce to equalise and make it feel like a defeat.
  8. Not a huge fan of that team but I suppose to play the devils advocate I’m assuming we’re looking to stop their full backs which were a huge part of their game at the Euros and putting our strongest 2 players there to combat that I suppose is one way of going about it. Also going by the Tartan Scarf podcast, the Denmark guy they had on said Denmark’s main weakness was on the counter attack in transition so having Adams and Fraser there to try and capitalise that is, I suppose, an option. I know Kenny McLeans never really let us down but I don’t see how having him in there aswell as McGregor and Gilmour makes a lot of sense, lacks a bit of dynamism we’d have got from a Christie/Turnbull, suppose we’ll probably be looking to match up with them and keep it tight and maybe bring them on later on in the game. If I’m right and that’s our gameplan and we lose an early goal and we’re screwed tbh but if we can keep it tight it might do us a turn, whatever happens it’s not gonna be an easy watch.

  10. I’ve spent the past 2 months or so binging this for the first time and I can honestly say this is my favourite TV programme ever, I had seen the odd episode here and there but I had never watched it properly. The character development throughout it is tremendous, pretty much all of the characters have a spell of me disliking them and also liking them, with the few exceptions being Creed, Kevin, Stanley, Jim and Pam who I just love all the time. Although series 8&9 aren’t as good they’re worth sticking with for the absolute beauty that is the last episode, honestly I actually burst into tears, possibly was the hangover that caused that but it was amazing.
  11. Reckon if St Johnstone go down they’ll still want their whole team in the Scotland squad?
  12. Obviously there’s still time but its appearing likelier and likelier it’ll just be Mitchell and no other players in. Overall, a pretty disappointing window I would say, Doyle-Hayes probably being the only player that improves us as an XI. Obviously with Magennis’ improvement you could argue he’s “like a new signing” but we’re no stronger in defence or attack and we now have less depth in midfield. Losing Mallan, Irvine, McGinn with Hallberg and potentially Murphy out for a length of time leaves us far weaker, despite the majority of the aforementioned names not having a massive impact for us and unfortunately I don’t have much faith Allan will ever be the player he was. Last season I felt we were light up top and with no Doidge till Christmas it now feels even moreso. Got to pray for a lack of injuries between now and Christmas really for when Mueller comes in and Doidge comes back. I’ve said this already but if we’d acted earlier and brought Wood in instead of fannying about with McCart we’d possibly be on 12 points rather than 10 and at least have got through an extra round in Europe. And it can’t be a lack of budget if we just offered a few hundred grand for McCart, and also do we really need 3 goalkeepers? When in the history of the club have we ever went down to a 3rd choice? There’s also an emergency loan system in place for rare occurrences like that, appreciate he’ll be cheap and probably never play but could we not have chucked that few hundred a week at another player. Pretty frustrating all in all.
  13. Gary Deegan, Jorge Claros, Tom Taiwo, Owain Tudur Jones, Scott Robertson, Liam Craig, Kevin Thomson, wharra time
  14. Adam Johnson would probably do a job for us too. David Goodwillie anyone? Why not get Stokes back while we’re at it?
  15. I would probably rate him as the 2nd worst striker we’ve had in my lifetime with only Shefki Kuqi getting the nod in front of him and the only reason for that is he created a goal for us against Stranraer in the league cup. An awful player with an awful attitude who spent most of his time at Hibs arguing with fans on social media. Left St Johnstone to sign for us to play European football and played in one tie against Malmö which we lost 9-0. Although in fairness to him he hit the post in the away leg when the score was 1-0 and he also scored an offside goal in the home leg early on, shame he didn’t come as close to scoring for us again. He was a properly brutal footballer, it was like the guy at 5’s who's turned up still absolutely steaming from the previous night. His post-Hibs career speaks volumes.
  16. Would rather we had re-signed Rowan Vine than bringing Griffiths back in tbh, wouldn’t touch that horrible wee man with a bargepole.
  17. Ah well, Lanarkshire Live saying Nisbet won't be travelling anyway. No idea if that's to do with transfer speculation but it makes a nice article to link the two. It’s a weird one, he missed our game against Dundee with covid but he played (& scored) on Saturday. He did go off but Jack Ross said it was just cramp having not trained for the past week. There was an enquiry from Swansea yesterday but nothing else that’s in the public domain.
  18. Chat on the twittersphere that Swansea have just bid £5m for Nisbet. Dreadful timing but I’d be tempted to take it, probably as good a deal as we’ll get for him. Would need to get a replacement in soon and no one is really jumping out to me as a candidate. Interesting a couple of days ahead.
  19. Guess which idiot turned up at this without a jacket on because it was sunny when I left the house. Reckon that’ll be me in bed with the cold for a week. 3rd lower league game I’ve made it along to this season and I enjoyed it. Back in my slightly younger days I used to find myself arguing with Danny Handling a lot on twitter when he was a bit of a p***k during his time at Hibs and I did laugh when he scored and celebrated both goals right in front of me, he did look very good in fairness, as did Daniel Jardine. Elgin really didn’t offer much at all which was surprising, had them down in my head as the team that would finish 3rd this season but they didn’t show anything to suggest that to be the case. Love a bit of Friday night fitba, looking forward to when City get back to Meadowbank, will definitely go more often, only a 20 minute stroll from my flat.
  20. Really really starting to get concerned about the way my club is going. Walk up prices increasing to up to £28 for category C games, the chat about an Atlantic League a couple of years ago and now Ron Gordon piping up with shit like this. On the walk ups I’m a season ticket holder so it doesn’t affect me but it’s going to affect the poorest Hibs fans who want to go all the time but can’t afford a season ticket, it’s as if we’re trying to cut the working class out of the club, and coming out with Tory shit like this just makes it worse. No doubt the Hibs.net weirdos that just defend everything the club does no matter what it is will continue to defend it and be content with it so nothing will change.
