Motherwell FC - A Thread For All Seasons
AndyX replied to Casagolda's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
That's not how the co-efficient works - maybe it used to but not now. It is an advantage to enter at later qualifying rounds because then you can't get knocked out in very early rounds. How the club coefficients are calculated | Club coefficients | UEFA Coefficients | UEFA.com -

Because if you take away these 2 clubs, there is really not much difference between these two leagues. On a night when Irish teams have beaten a Scottish team and a Slovenian team you're showing some ignorance to refer to them as 'bottom-feeding trash'. That's all I'm saying. And let's not kid ourselves that any non-OF Scottish team wouldn't be delighted with St Pat's result tonight. Go have a look at Irish teams results and non-OF teams results over past 10 years and see if you can see any real difference. Motherwell qualified from the Scottish league and pretty much any fan on this thread would tell you that they were brutally bad last season. We are in no place to insult the quality of other leagues. You want to mock Armenia too? Have a look at our record.... -

They count of course. But they are no measure of how good the rest of the league is. AZ (Netherlands ranked 7th) play Dundee United (Scotland ranked 9th). Do you think it'll even be close? -

Take out Rangers and Celtic points, and where would Scotland be? -

Should certainly have played David Turnbull and James Scott. -

And not mentioning beating Maccabi Tel Aviv in Europa group stages..... Talk of 'pub league' or 'farmers league' is really ignorant. -

There has been some insulting pish in here about Irish football. Also worth mentioning that if you go back 2 more fixtures, you get St Pats drawing at Celtic Park and Shelbourne being 3-0 up on Rangers. -
Like the look of Owura Edwards. The rest has been pretty hard going for County.

Stephen Kelly is available - that would divide opinion. -
Would Scotland or Northern Ireland win our league?
AndyX replied to Sortmeout's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Much as I love Cookie - Che Adams is a different level And Wales would win the SPFL most years. -

Oh piss off - 27000 posts and the best you can manage is Scotty Wright won the Scottish Cup. Do you never wonder where your life's gone? -

I'd sooner have Scottish Cup-winning John McGinn And should I remind you haw 'Full team Rangers' got on against Alashkert? -

You surely wouldn't play Scott Wright instead? -
American chairmen just seem to be really really bad at picking managers for Scottish football teams. Impressing at interview might be important for some promising new manager with no real track record, but this guy has 10 bloody years of achieving nothing - it shouldn't matter what he says at interview.

It seems like a long time ago when it looked like County were going to be just a team full of loanees. Only 2 on-loan players in the 15 used today. -

I did try to but they're not in listening mode just now. I'll maybe pop back around November to see if they've started to see through him. -
Speaking as a County fan..... When OC was appointed, fans of his previous clubs tried to warn us what was coming. We thought they were probably just bitter or something. They were 100% right though.

Dundee 0 v Ross County ? - 5/2/22
AndyX replied to Spikethedee's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
They did. Just the highlight of a very bad day for them.... Repeatedly mixed up Watson with Iacovitti. Mixed up Callachan and Spittal Couldn't see how it was a penalty Said Charlie Adam won silverware at County Credited 'Dungbo' with the equaliser Didn't recognise any of the County subs, but thought Harry Paton might be Kayne Ramsay And of course, the sending off was a yellow at most -
Weird team selection from County. Top players unused on the bench. What can they ever win if they don't want to win cups?

Heart of Midlothian FC v Ross County
AndyX replied to Kyle Reese's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I wonder if a Hearts 343 might play to County's strengths (which are basically 2 good wingers and an attacking FB if they play him there) It could need some shift from your wide players. -

RCFC - Joseph Hungbo joins The Staggies (rosscountyfootballclub.co.uk) "season-long loan" Agree that losing him (or Harry Clarke) would be pretty close to game over.
