  1. Yeah but as Stan3600 heavily hinted towards, we already have someone in the squad with those atributes.
  2. Can’t see him being anywhere near the starting 11 but our squad is small and with the new 5 subs rule he will definitely feature. Our biggest weakness this season has been quality delivery so if he can cross a ball then he’ll do ok.
  3. No way could Chris Hamilton play centre half, especially not last night against Hamilton’s height - they scored both their goals with headers from crosses - but he’s a good full back. Also remember that Ricky Little’s short for that position too so we would have been very compromised. Could have possibly played Hammy or JT as centre half to enable Henderson to play in central midfield with Low, Linn on the left and McKenna right. Doesn’t matter now though as it’s history.
  4. Low was playing wide left the whole game not just the second half. you could tell the ref was scunnered with Hamilton’s time wasting so I was surprised that he didn’t play longer. Mind you he was probably scunnered with fitba in general by about 60 minutes so wanted it over as quickly as possible. As I said earlier, we were there for the taking last night and I’m sure Accies would have won if they’d put as much effort into winning as not losing. They completely negated our strengths and looked dangerous in attack. I suppose staying up is their big priority this season so sitting back and time wasting enabling them to get at least a point isn’t a bad approach.
  5. Spot on. I kind of understand why Low has been played wide the last two games as, if he was played in the centre (where he should be) we would have no height there with him and C Hamilton. Perhaps we need to start Henderson with Low instead as he has been excellent when he’s come on the last two games. Worst performance from us for a long time. IMO only Low, Henderson and J Hamilton played well. Some very out of character performances all over the pitch. Really don’t want to single anyone out but what has happened to McKenna? Aside from his, admittedly very good, penalty, I can’t recall him doing anything tonight that wasn’t rushed or clumsy or laboured. Seems to have lost his spark. Hopefully his goal will reignite it. Some points re Hamilton (the team) - their physio must have ran a 10k tonight; since when are players allowed to stay on the pitch after treatment? They could have won that easily tonight, ludicrous time wasting and slowing the game down at every opportunity when we were there for the taking. Play like shit and draw, I’ll take that.
  6. Some very poor individual performances in the first half. Has to get better.
  7. Yeah, it’s here to stay. They could surely put all the Hamilton fans in the end section of the main stand though and give us the entire terrace.
  8. Agree with this. I was happy but a wee bit apprehensive about him coming back. Obviously none of us saw him in the flesh first time round so couldn’t really see the full player and what he contributed beyond the goals (which as a centre forward is enough really). Add in the, not exactly glowing reports from Livi fans - slow, lazy, disinterested etc and I was thinking last seasons goal flurry may have just been an anomaly. In reality though he’s even better than we could have hoped. Full of running and energy, sharp, physical, fully committed, constantly pressuring the defence and has an obvious eye for goal. Give him half a chance and he scores or makes the goalkeeper work at the very least. Something must not be a good fit for him at Livingston.
  9. Would like to see us get the entire terracing for this game. Can't imagine Accies will bring more than 100 so could easily put them in the away section of the stand. Would be great to get behind both goals.
  10. It wouldn't be back-to-back promotions - this is our third season in the Championship.
  11. I was always impressed with him when he played against us for Airdrie so was delighted when he signed. He’s been superb for us, very consistent and always gives 100%.
  12. Said to my pal last night when leaving Gayfield - that’s 7 points out of 9 against Kilmarnock this season, I remember the days of being delighted if we took 7 out of 9 against East Stirling (no disrespect to ES intended). Show’s how far we’ve come.
  13. One of the best things about it is the amount of kids that are at the games now. When I was a kid and going to games there weren’t many others and you certainly never saw kids in team kits or proudly saying they supported the club, changed days now. Obviously success plays a big part but the way the club is run just now and the engagement with the community also plays a huge part. Not sure what the Killie support was last night but it definitely looked a fair bit less than when we played them in September. I reckon they had maybe 500-600 max last night, meaning there were 2200-2300 home fans on a cold February night with the game live on tv.
  14. Did you never notice how he approached games at Aberdeen? Ultra conservative. I think he was hoping for a 0-0 tonight. Aberdeen supporting friends of mine were driven mental by his negativity. He would try to protect a 1 goal lead from the 15th minute if he had to. Never tried to kill the game and get a second goal. Don’t get me wrong, he’ll get results for you but don’t expect exciting or high scoring wins. You’ll likely go a goal up and he’ll immediately take off an attack minded player and try to conserve your lead. Frustrating to watch.
  15. Everyone played well tonight but those two plus Chris Hamilton and Scott Stewart were superb.
  16. Physicality is a big part of his game but he was certainly not dirty for us. Yes he’s very strong and defenders would just bounce off him if they tried to outmuscle him. I wonder if he’s trying extra hard to impress and impose himself in a supposedly more physical league and is therefore getting on the wrong side of refs because of it. Physicality and skill is some combination.
  17. There are quite obviously good, bad and downright terrible commentators and pundits out there - regardless of their sex. Personally I think Leanne Crichton is decent. She’s played to a high level: Champions League, World Cup etc (cue “aye but wifie’s fitba is shit” comments) which is as high as it goes in women’s football and she obviously knows what she’s talking about. I fail to see how some mannies talking pish down the pub or on an internet forum, who’ve never played to a decent level, seem to think they would be more competent than an ex high level pro just because she’s a woman. Anyway - home win!
  18. Sadly, they all do. Take away that and I actually quite like her.
  19. You can just picture all the managers and chairmen in the country frantically phoning round all their players telling them to keep their puss’ shut on social media. I’m sure every club has at least one or two thickos who could potentially say the wrong thing.
  20. Also the world is, thankfully, a different place than it was even 5 years ago. The attitude towards rape is still in the dark ages with some folk but it’s going in the right direction.
  21. She could have started waffling in Latin and talking about Jimmy Savile, that seems to be what’s expected and accepted of politicians nowadays when asked a difficult direct question.
  22. I thought the Falkirk and Dunfermline boards were the masters at treating the club and fans with utter contempt… in reality, they’re absolute amateurs compared to that shower at Raith.
  23. Both us and yourselves are so fortunate at the moment to be ran by, not just competent individuals but also decent people with the genuine interest of the club, community and fans at heart. When you look at clubs like Falkirk, Dunfermline and now Raith it really brings in to focus just how lucky we are. I take no joy in Raith’s situation, even though they have become our default rivals for the last few years, due to a certain bunch o diddies fae up the road nae getting their fingers oot The vast majority of their fans and I’m sure a fair few of those involved with running the club, are good people. They don’t deserve this and I hope they get out the other end in as good a place as they can.
