  1. I heard it as he missed last week with virus so possibly still an issue. Manager clears up likely a knock in training or dual issue. Tuned in to their broadcast tonight. Wish we had access for the weeks I can't make it's an excellent product. Craig Dargo on Commentary put some of the BBC wage thief's to shame. Excellent foil for RTV team.
  2. You've made quite a few assumptions accross your posts. Don't see anything about the new guy having any of the CEO's duties. Don't see anything about him being a paid employee either. Rather he a Council employee with a private business interest. You could be right but nothing I see clarifies any of your points.
  3. Enjoying the goals with commentary on a Sunday, Jock Mcstay yahooing the goals is brilliant. Hats off to Murray from the deficiencies of Cove to yesterday is quite something. Defensively strong when he had pretty much a juggling act to manage a matter if weeks ago. I wouldn't swap O'riordan/Dick for and mix of Benny/Berra/Frankie. Didn't realise till the highlights that Connell was key to all 3 goals.
  4. Majority of decision makers took action to rectify "the situation" as soon as possible. Utter garbage.
  5. Manager said 2/3 players and no reason to think they won't come in before Cove. Ideally before Sunday but looks unlikely. I'm happier getting the right guys rather than panic signings. We will hear in time if and why there has been delay though I can see the view of posters who are intent on seeing this as drama in the making. Longer it goes the more expectations that the signings might have some profile. Might even be loans with English teams setting the time frames, that's what the Chairman suggested. Still gives folk time to run out that hilarious and original patter on Twitter "New strip" Sign SumdY "Season tickets sales" Sign SumdY "Walking football" Sign SumdY
  6. Just watched both parts, great detail all round. Murray answers aren't cryptic puzzles instead just good questions and informative answers.
  7. Just watched rhe full replay, good facility that. First 11 looks quality it then starts to drift though the young boys have got something about them. Missed the Chairman yesterday as I only caught wee bits of the game live. I don't think he loves the on mic stuff but came accross well. Good addition to the commentary during the friendly. Ross has bulked up a bit, Gullan as an out and out striker might work. Trialists up top didn't shine both centre halfs looked worthy of another shot maybe closed doors games. Neither really tested but neat enough.
  8. I would imagine the chances od Ross signing for the manager who wouldn't play him at Aberdeen are pretty slim.
  9. Grand day out at the open day, sure it was a bit chaotic but players were absolutely first class. Kit is an absolute banger, to be fair the kits have been great for a few years but this is next level. Had a wee kick about on the pitch and a tour of the main stand. Hoping my commentary efforts with the TV guys "experence" will get me signed up and now wholly regret not getting my face painted. #IMaRover
  10. Live updates and free audio for season ticket holders. Glad the free audio for home and away games has been retained it's something the club should publicise more. Not something they need to do but a great wee bonus.
  11. I'm in the retain camp, think he carried more blame than was deserved at times. Its a good signing for them and without knowing the replacement a move we can't criticise from the new managers perspective. Seems like a trait of the Rovers board, stall then wait for the player/manager or another club to make the move elsewhere. Great servant, great captain.
  12. The 5oo post is interesting, not sure if it's really good going or a sign of a larger number holding back. A fair few of the tickets will be kids ones too so it's hard to draw any meaningful detail. Hopefully it's the former as this we do have a foundation to give this season a right go. Chairman's interview was a good read, written press is a good format for taking steps forward when used appropriately. I still fear that Sim will be along soon to create havoc by opening his yapper and setting the club back again.
  13. Agree they are absolutely cringe but would rather we actually done something creative, funny or intelligent. The last 2 have been dire, league 2 quality. Unless I'm missing something and they are "ironically cool"
  14. Saw the lad a few times last year and he has enough to make an impact. Confident and hard working along with an eagerness to go forward. Brilliant that we are acting quick to show time hasn't been wasted. Continuity of that release video will bother my OCD for weeks but isn't it great when a signing just appears? Beats any ITK twat massaging his ego. Good work Mr Murray
  15. From the other side of the divide I thought he came across well. I wanted to hear him as I really didn't want him near Starks but had no real idea why. Happy with how the mamagerial cards have fell though time will tell. Key theme from the interview is the need to accept infrastructure, history etc come with entitlement. Potential doesn't win games and he seems to get it waaaay more than Yogi did. Also indicates the Dundee angle will be used if cash allows.
  16. Commented on the Pars thread that 24 hours later and they haven't as much as an interview. In contrast our coverage has been excellent. Seems they parachuted in a "celeb" which seems disrespectful while Rovers went with the Raith TV guys who yet again deliver. Really liked the press angle too, took the 1-1 interview a bit further so kudos to whoever made that decision. Don't know what the new lad brings, I'm sure we will learn but like the gaffer he has some foundation to work with. There's just a feeling in our house that bridges are being built and we are meaningfully moving forward again.
  17. No interview over 24 hours from the appointment is absolutely tinpot. If it was your ParsTV guys responsible they would be getting it tight. Do the Pars bin their week to week guys for the "big" announcements? Pretty patronising if they do. I'm sure the Megacelebrity of ahem.... Forth 1 will be covering the Buckie, East Fife, Alloa and Ross County games. Lack of respect for your volunteers here.
  18. Exactly this, I've not been shy with criticism where I think they could have done better so fair play. From this point on its a rollercoatser could be the dawning of the next chapter or a calamity. Our Hughes adventure showed that. However its the best we could hope for at a time when we feared some more nonsense like Czaba rocking up. Inherits a good squad, could cherry pick from Airdrie and maybe the players he was aspiring to be marquee signings for Airdrie in the Championship could be in our reach. Get G/W out the equation and let's get down to business.
  19. Not many will have an issue with the points raised many of which I agree with. However the programme is littered with digs and point scoring against the club. It's not the remit of the programme to service opinion pieces that don't reflect club policy (whatever that might be) Editor knows what he's doing here and used an official vehicle to raise fan group/individual grievances. The front page carries a "not the" Rovers review tag yet its clearly the official programme with manager, Chairman etc contributing. First time I've read a programme in ages and aside from the issue it's a mishmash of pieces many of which are barely relevant to RRFC. Maybe that's how all programmes are. The player pics reminded me ream I sponsored a jersey, have I missed the player event?
  20. You mean Dick whose team finished 8th last season and who we would have hounded out? Programme is available through Rovers Down South twitter feed. Club seem to have pulled it. Had a read and it's full if the editor giving it the "it's my baw" treatment. We on here are no strangers to criticising the club but a takeover of the programme was bold.
  21. Programme spat is fairly entertaining. Club choose not to distribute an edition where editor and contributors use the official programme to have a pop. Guess it's a good way to avoid having to hand on your notice. JM has over the piece got us out the seaside league, 2 Diddy cups a play off semi (oh for Tumilty not be flagged off side) even this season over the piece we were 1 win from a play off (Colin Steven or a single kick of the ball on the fog at Partick) I would be gutted if he goes as I still think he has more to offer, get in a third wheel to freshen it up though.
  22. I'm firmly in the new contract brigade. JM inherited a league 1 team, since then promotion 2 Cup finals, a play off and a joint 4th or a 5th place. Just look at Falkirk to see what we could have easily become. 2nd half form has been appalling and JM needs to give the board answers how he has learned however....the grass isn't always greener. Look at Arbroath 8th place last year just avoiding relegation play offs. I really think we will regret not sticking with what we have for another year. Even if its a Director of football role with a younger manager. JM has a lot to offer us.
  23. Let the poor fella get comfy in his seat first Comms outwith club TV has been poor to appalling since the signing so I'm sure he kens what's needed. Brave to take on a role where the immediate requirement is to get the voice of the board out to the fans. Failure to do so wouldnt bode well especially after Sims outburst. Media and comms for an organisation who have hid behind the sofa for several months is either a great opportunity or a snake pit of a job.
  24. Post after post about your disdain for the trophy that gave a day out for 2 other teams. What an absolute joy thief you are. Queens fans were good yesterday and shifted some good patter pre match. At the end in particular, it fair warmed the soul to see the kids and players buzzing. We didn't drag our club through the mud and yesterday we got the chance to have it back.
  25. Let's don't Rovers, for all the recent crap this is a day for the players and supporters. Really looking forward to the day out and won't deny I will be as nervous as any other final.
