I hate office “cup of tea” culture. “Who’s turn is it?” is twee, embarrassing nonsense.

If I want a coffee when I’m in work I get one from the vending machine or pop downstairs to Pret or whatever. It’s better not to involve other people, like with most things.

I agree. I've never had the misfortune of working on such an environment but my missus had this in her last job where they had a 'tea rota'. I never understood why one person had to make tea for everybody.

If you want a cup of tea, make it yourself.

    Great thread, lads.

My wife is 19 weeks, 20 week scan next Monday.

Everything fine so far, although a bit of an issue last night. For a few weeks/months she’s been asking me intermittently about breast/bottle feeding and I’ve given it my usual “whatever you feel best I’ll support you” etc and I know she’d moved towards bottle feeding, although admittedly I hadn’t read up and just thought it was six and half a dozen.

Last night ended up down a bit of a Google rabbit hole and read up on some of the advantages of breast feeding - reduces cot death risk, reduces maternal breast cancer risk, and I admit I freaked out a bit and asked what her thought process was around bottle feeding, and it ended up in a bit of a row.

Guess I’m just looking for a bit of reassurance that bottle feeding will be fine.  Her body, her choice, but I’m still a bit worried as I’m a complete novice with almost all of it.

Bottle feeding will be absolutely fine. Mine was bottle fed from the second he was born. As somebody once said to myself and my missus, when they're running around playing you'll never know who was breastfed and who was bottlefed.

  3. I turned 17 in January of 97, went to a 'big' football stadium in the April for the cup semi replay v Celtic in a bus run by a cousin. I remember the second half taking about 4 years but what an amazing atmosphere after Willie Young's full time whistle. I'm sure I piled off the bus at a pub in Moodiesburn on the way home where I got served my first ever pint.

Went to the final by train and the main thing I remember was being on the underground/low level on the way to Ibrox, the carriage being full of Falkirk fans until about 10 Killie fans got on, being sh*t feart of trouble starting but everybody just having a great time.

Apart from that, met my first proper girlfriend, lost my virginity and passed my driving test. I also have a vague memory of being in the high school teacher staff room for a leaving lunch with my fellow 6th years and teachers on the day of the election, during the lunch the Headmaster tell us all it would likely be the final time we were all in the same room together and thinking "yeah right then". Twenty five years later and there's still some folk I haven't seen since that day

  4. My boy wasn't himself yesterday with a bit of a fever and loss of appetite. I noticed a spot on his forehead last night, woke up this morning and saw a few more on his face.

Needless to say he has chickenpox.

Does anybody have tips in dealing with a child with chickenpox? Already got the Calamine cream and antihistamines

Just watched the SC highlights, and thank God that Kelty aren’t in L1 this season, as they would absolutely batter us.

They really look as though they collectively know what they are about.

A number of ex Falkirk players on the squad who would raise their game against us.

I’d like to give MacLean the benefit of the doubt, having not been able to see the incident on the stream.

Given how poor the ref was today, I wouldn’t be shocked if he got it wrong.

I've just seen the red card on sportscene,  I know the camera was a good distance away but that looked very harsh

Only time will tell whether Rennie is the right man or not. As I said I have my concerns regarding his status and exposure in Scottish football and that then leading to his ability to get the quality of players in the door that we so badly need at the moment.

Houston had status and exposure in Scottish football. The quality of the player he brought in wasn't always great as you so often stated.

A fourth season in league 1 would be disastrous for the club financially- I suspect we’d see a substantial fall in ST and PATG income.

This line has been said numerous times over the last 10 years or so yet we still have over 2500 season ticket holders.

With the new board in place now, next season will be their first full season in charge a good marketing slogan (remember the whole "our time", "my club" lines) I reckon we will see at least the same number of season ticket holders for next year

Wife's first day back at work today after the Christmas/New Year break. She's had breakfast, she's showered, hair and make up done, lunch is made, jacket and shoes on - she's effectively all ready and her next step would be to leave the house and get in the car, she's already running a bit late. She starts panicking "oh no, does the car need defrosted" (it's still dark outside) and proceeds to stand in the living room with the blinds open, big light on and staring intently to ascertain if the windscreen looks frosty. Just leave the house woman and you'll see if the cars needing defrosted!

What she means is why haven't you been outside to check for me and scrape it so I can just jump in and drive away

Smiths an athlete isn’t he. He actually looks like he struggles to breathe.

I wouldn't expect any of the semi finalists to be running any marathons any time soon

    This is boring.

Agreed. Next set is crucial and needs to be won by Wade for this to be close to being a contest. Been a walk in the park for Smith so far

The Dark Remains by William McIlvanney and Ian Rankin.

A Laidlaw book started by McIlvanney before he died, and finished by Rankin now. Very good. I often find McIlvanneys books a touch dense and inaccessible. This is much easier to get in to. Much more of a Rankin book. Almost a Rebus book with the names switched around.

I finished this about two weeks ago and found it an enjoyable read, probably due to Rankin's involvement.

Started reading Strange Loyalties about a week ago and really struggling to get into it. Tempted to read something else and come back to this later

  13. Brilliant match, Wright stuck in there and got the job done. Get it right up you Rydz, that will teach you to be disrespectful towards an opponent.

Hopefully Price beats Smith then Wade and there's no English player in the final
