Yeah I’m fairly happy with players in from Scotland this window even the January players signed from in the leagues here were good. this trying to find a hidden gem from down south need to get binned asap. there’s Motherwell taking a player on trail from west of Scotland league I think it was. Players are definitely out there.

Best two trialists from Brechin not even there today. Pretty worrying that’s we’ve apparently watched these guys and they’re not very good with 7 out of 9!being punted after 1 official friendly and the two that got kept on weren’t even the best 2 out of them. Can we please go back to signing the better PT players in Scotland already

I’d rather we just spent money on actual players for first team than spunk money on more staff and players that might never make the cut at the club. Loads of full time clubs struggle to afford reserve or even youth teams

A reserve team would significantly reduce our current wage budget so no chance of that happening

I was there too, boys started back training the Monday before and had 5 + plus weeks off probably barely kicking a ball about. Standard was never going to be great. Some of our and Brechins signed players looked miles off it too.

Folk wetting their pants at these trialists, folk wetting their pants at the result in a game to see if these trialists are any good or not Jesus Christ. relax 2/3 weeks till group games start plenty more time to get more trialists in and more pant wetting results for some.

He showed one good goal preseason that’s about all I recall in him we were far too quick to sign him after that. I’d like the club to look at these players in a few games and decide from there like I said previously general fitness and match fitness are totally different so few games played see if they sharpen up but so far I’d say 2 look like they could be good

Good loan players will still be available it’s just a matter of when. more players will become available as they might want to leave current club so transfer / buying market, players might want to stay full time currently but will opt for part time if no FT club is interested (see that happening) loads more players might fall under our radar through agents getting in touch or word of mouth through contacts. Management won’t just gamble on this group of 9 players that’s very naive surely learnt their lesson. squad isn’t in terrible shape just need few areas on the park covered. folk need to chill and stop panicking, start to panic if it’s the same current squad when first league game comes around

More players will become available and we will look at others plus there’s the loan market still plenty time. Yes we want more players in but I’d rather no sign pish and wait

The trialist that played centre mid was by far the best out the bunch then I’d say the other pass mark would go to the left winger in the second half. Rest didn’t look up to much big man who set up the goal and done well for it could be useful but very clumsy. Training fitness and match fitness are totally different so hard to be too harsh but you can tell who decent and just rubbish. see what like next week again but I don’t hold too hope much from this crop of trialists

Yeah I mean the first game. Got muddled up with games as both pretty terrible. was midfield consistent of tait gold Allan jabobs linn just looked back dick made 5 subs around the hour mark. Back 4 of oakley little hammy Hancock terrible day

Tbf oakley was shafted as soon as Stewart got injured never got anyone playing right sided midfield was this weird lob sided formation we played for weeks/month with oakley constantly doing doggies up and down the park with very little to no support. sure dick played gold and heatherington widest midfielders that day in cove with yasin coming on LW at haft time

Hancocks not the answer and doubt hed want to go part time already in his career. Still not convinced what hancocks particular strengths were tbh in the games he played yes albeit some out of position but he did play left back in a few. Fairly certain we will sign in the loan market to cover the left back position

Let’s be honest boy is only going to play as a last resort. if Gaston was to get injured or miss a few games we’d definitely get an emergency loan or whatever. How many games has Gaston missed in a row at most in his time here 2/3 which antel looked horrific. Boy will kin the position he’s coming into so if he throws his toys out the pram im sure dick won’t hesitate to show him the door.

Alot of the players from down south don’t stick at clubs particularly long looks at how many clubs they’ve been at. It’s a job for them they need contracts to pay the bills. Get paid, get accommodation for free, play football move on. They’ll go where the offers / opportunities are use teams for a stepping stone to possibly something bigger if the moves successful. Remember Arbroath pay the accommodation too and if they aren’t very good why waste funds on them. January window was about short term deals to stay in the league which we done just. Season past was shite yes but give it time see where we are when the group games kick off then when season starts. So far we’ve done well I feel

This season just shows we can’t really take any passengers yes he has potential but we a good solid reliable squad. He’s far too inexperienced for the championship, no point bringing him on here and there if he’s going to be 3/4 choice which I imagine he would be. A loan would have been decent option but if Peterhead are offering money we might aswell take it.

There’s a lot more to with Paterson though think he’s got a few issue away from the club. Again a good player but best for all parties they go their own way.
