  1. It'll be interesting to see how Gio sets up for it, think the defence picks itself, but then we're into interesting questions about fitness, form, and playing people back into contention for the Old Firm game. Plus one (maybe two?) new starters. Would like to see us use the 5 subs to rotate a lot of that, something like? McGregor Tav Goldson Bassey (King) Borna Kamara (Jack) Arfield (McCann) Aribo Diallo/Sakala Kent (Lowry) Roofe (Itten) In that 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 he seems to prefer with the wider players hugging the touchline and coming in, and then two in behind Roofe. Got to start using the squad more, and I'm worried that suspensions are going to start coming in for yellow's soonish - is the slate wiped clean after the winter break still?
  2. My biggest hope is that he balances out the attack from the right sided #10, so we stop seeing Kent being doubled/tripled up on.
  3. Fantastic bit of play by Livi there, need to push them back a lot higher up the pitch. Get the conceding ground to lob Goldson passes in behind thing but it’s not really coming up with anything
  4. Almost superhuman levels of restraint to not make the egg on Snifter’s face joke, you deserve recognition.
  5. Waiting patiently for all those fans who criticised Rangers for complaining to post about how they were wrong and the club was proved right in hindsight…
  6. Sorry, I thought the general complaint was that Rangers only get penalties when they don’t look like scoring. Or was that not your point?
  7. It’s like 90% possession and there’s been four touches in our half all game
  8. Barker is playing and didn’t on Tuesday?
  9. One of the examples in that Sky story is Barisic not being allowed to leave the field for treatment after Hayes had caught him, but then being told to leave later after Clancy had been helpfully reminded about it by Brown. Any way you look at that it's not great from a refereeing perspective, and clubs should be free to challenge. Was one of his quietest games all told. Thought he might have got more into it with Brown but seemed to have been warned off it.
  10. I'm sure Aberdeen are able to complain in equal measure? For what it's worth, I think McGregor should have got a red card and a penalty (Though could understand why it might have been given as a freekick in real time given it was right on/over the line) Think the second penalty if reviewed doesn't get given for Ferguson's foul on Barisic before he heads the ball at Morelos. Been fairly consistent in saying that the refs are shite and we need VAR to help them, as in both of those. Don't remember any dives tbh, there was lots of theatrical embellishment from both sides but nothing other than Kent's penalty appeal?
  11. Like I said, it's a concrete example of an objective fault with no pressure on him as part of a wider complaint about how shit he was in the other 94 minutes - something I think both sets of fans have agreed on?
  12. I think it’s probably more that it’s a really obvious example of Clancy not being good enough? There’s subjectivity and a bit of leeway given to the pace of the game in ‘should Bates have been given a yellow in the build up to the Rangers goal?’, ‘was he a bit too keen to keep cards in his pocket in the first half?’, ‘should McGregor have been sent off?’ or ‘was the foul in the box?’ for both teams in terms of decision. The ball moving on the spot is a yes/no thing that him and his team should be able to pick up on from 10 yards.
  13. Clancy must be happy someone’s done a worse job than him this week
  14. The foul was probably the reason, though with Clancy it’s no guarantee.
  15. Last night he got played centrally and not shunted out to a wing and scored?
  16. You realise that would have meant 70 minutes of 10 men and a goal down? 10 men yes, goal no, think it’d have been a free kick given McGregor’s position. Don’t think the penalty gets given with VAR. Would have cut down on the other shite as well.
  17. Clancy being shit and deputising Brown as his fifth official means he shouldn’t challenge for a ball, clearly.
  18. Bit of a pisser, think it’s the first real mistake in game management from Gio since he’s started. Positives in that Sands played decently and didn’t look out of place. Other than that, sat too deep a lot of the time, shouldn’t have taken Hagi off. Clancy is just a rotten referee. So so shit. Bring on VAR.
  19. Clancy telling Borna he has to go off because he’s got a nosebleed, caused by a foul that Clancy and his linesmen didn’t give, kinda sums up his night.
