    It's nice to see him moan about something other than one of his players get their career ended.

    He just inherited the ‘what’s trying to destroy your knee’ chart that the players stick up at Auchenhowie.

    PITCHES   ||   PLAYERS

    Killie     ||  Motherwell

                ||    Hibs / Porteous

    Livi      ||  Hibs / Various

    I do wonder if some journalists have spent too much time in a comfy world of football reporting, and not enough time watching it anywhere outside the press box.

    Be interesting to see how many of them ever have to pay for a ticket.

    It’s such a widespread, prevalent problem that the only solution is for away-fan numbers to be reduced, but at the same time it’s quiet enough you can’t hear it in the posh seats?

    Don't be a knob, they were taking a ridiculous amount of time to go off.

    They were, and from memory Newell is right in McLeans ear telling him that. Time added on for a knackered Rangers team defending a 1-0 lead with a ref who’ll inevitably book Butland for time wasting and hurry up corners and throw ins is a positive for Hibs. Putting your hands on medical staff and a potentially injured player is always a risky/stupid thing to do, especially on a booking.

    So, got home and looking at this.

    Obita 2nd yellow is questionable, and Moriah Welsh  - while a foul - is a yellow card.

    Mclean utterly lost the plot tonight.

    If that was the first thing Obita had done all night it’d be harsh, but he got lucky with the penalty decision, then luckier still with the physio/McAusland, and the ref had already had a word with him and the manager about totting up. He’d lost his head and if it wasn’t that foul he’d have done something daft a minute later.

    Moriah Welsh was fucking daft. It was lazy play that let down the rest of the team. You’d imagine both are getting pelters for it.

    Just noticed that Lennon and Hutton are wearing the same trainers that are usually worn on Sky Monday night football by their top presenters.

    What’s so fcuking special about these trainers apart from they are black and white?

    I think it’s to control reflections and the like in virtual studios -with white soles on shiny floors easier to work with. I guess they have a job lot and chuck them on every pundit if they turn up needing a pair?

    Whilst there is merit in what you are saying one of the first things all young aspiring footballers are taught is not to shite out of tackles like this as you are more likely to hurt yourself than than the other player.

    I remember being taught the same, and my poor googling isn’t finding anything to say different from any modern coaches, I’ll have to tweet the question at whatever throwaway account micks got now.

    Imagine being unhappy at seeing a promising youngster join an extensive injury list, what a spoilt fan I am.

    Honestly? f**k all wrong with it, just an honest full blooded challenge and willing to take anything in his path. McAusland shite's it, if he'd attacked it himself he wouldn't have come out of it so badly. If that was Lundstram there'd have been 50,000 folk cheering him and claiming there was nothing in it.

    VAR are normally creaming themselves to give decisions to Rangers and Celtic, particularly on their own patch. It's not that it didn't merit a 2nd look, it will have been looked at in the VAR room and the decision made that there was f**k all to greet about.

    I’m aware the VAR room didn’t decide to recommend a review because my criticism is of the VAR room? They haven’t proven to be the brain trust everyone hoped, we saw that this week in the Killie game and the Mayo penalty that wasn’t.

    Don’t think there’s much wrong with McAusland pulling out after he realises he’s not making the 50:50 either given it’s probably how he’s been coached, and he’ll have been coached that way because ‘take the ball, man, crowd, whoever’ / ‘Brexit tackles’ haven’t been kosher for years now.

    Shitebag challenge from McCausland. If he gets injured from that it’s his own fault.

    If you take the screenshot from a second before, where Casey has followed through on the ball with his foot open, studs up and kicking McAusland’s ankle, it’ll look more like a red?
    Still images don’t tell you much, though even in this one you can see Casey’s overextended and slipped on his standing foot, because he’s not in control.

    Given the standard of refereeing on display, even if the ref’d been told to go look at the monitor there’s no guarantee Casey would have got more than a warning, but that it wasn't judged worthy of a second look is pretty shite.
