  1. We did "successfully" defend the other 90 corners/crosses, so they were going to get one at some point. Should look good in the stats. Our xG must have took a kicking though. If this is going to be a Gannon situation of sticking to a style of play regardless until it becomes unsustainable, I hope there's a Jennings and Humphrey in there. It is still early and stuff, and Alexander did a good job keeping us up and some, so I'm not quite at the drinking straight out of a jack Daniel's bottle at 9am stage, but I might have a decision to make when my current stash of death wish coffee runs out.
  2. Lawless was fine, but we looked like we were in "minutes in the legs mode again". Opponents really could just let us have as much of the ball as we want.
  3. Blah. no international stream today either. Wish I'd known earlier so that I could have flown over to be one of the lucky 5k to witness the return of grimmy.
  4. No van veen or o'donnell in the squad and Watt on the bench? Surely injury related, as I couldn't imagine us not putting out our best possible XI in the cup.
  5. O'Hara has the tendency to make the Lamie pass, where he just nonchalantly rolls the ball into an area where he decided someone should be. However, he does pop up with some handy goals, and wins headers.
  6. That Twitter rando will never know the entertainment he provided. Did casagoldas agent not die some weird way? Edit: Oh. https://www.steelmenonline.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/8042-esteban-casagolda/#comments Some thread.
  7. Well, he's *from* Algeria, and there are lots of numbers that aren't exactly 4m.
  8. St Mirren? I was definitely there, but can't remember how he scored. Think his other goal was a long range or a free kick. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/7636873.stm
  9. I believe this guy may be able to bring the longing title. We need to stop being cheap.
  10. You have permission to negotiate. Please remember that you have to get final approval from this board in the form of three gifs, one of which has to be the one where Robert Redford looks like Zack Galifianakis and nods.
  11. Right, I need someone to make a decision here, I have a guy on the phone ready to print the 5k "welcome Feghouli" t shirts I ordered. I'd like to add hoodies, but now I'm getting mixed signals.
  12. Heading over to Twitter to put pressure on the president. I will tell him there is no need to be afraid.
  13. Searching Twitter for motherwell always throws up some absolute gems, and a lot of OF fans that care about us too much.
  14. Only if it's McGregor. Otherwise I think the rule should be applied with common sense.
  15. Stream has been fine for me for quite some time, and I live in deliverance country. The last issues I had with the stream were in the early games of last season. I could have done with it being shite a few times mind.
  16. I believe the narrative is that Clarke likes Motherwell because Stephen O'donnell played for Kilmarnock?
  17. Maybe we can start doing the Ric Flair "woo" at FP, like they do at all the stadiums here.
  18. O'donnells game gets way over analyzed compared to many others on our team, and it was the same for scotland. He's a good right back at our level, and will have good games and bad games. The current formation leaves our full backs exposed with a lot of heavy lifting to do. We need to do something to reduce the number of crosses that come into our box, and our full backs getting constantly doubled up on doesn't help that. Some cover/competition for places will be helpful, and that's probably going to be grimmy and johnston, as I doubt we will use up budget on a back up right back.
  19. We can't afford to carry Donnelly and Maguire in that midfield. Maguire is improving, but he's getting overrun. Donnelly is miles from being match sharp, and it's going to take more than a couple of games after being out so long. However, until we bring in more bodies they're legit the best options we have. I could maybe see an argument for ohara in for Maguire when fit, bit I don't thing that adds too much. Slattery looms like a good signing, if we can get someone else with a similar pedigree I think we'll be OK. The front 3 need to work their arses off in the 433, and Watt is a big part of that. I hope today was just a case of getting shields some minutes and giving Watt a rest, as he needs to start most games. Oh, and leaving us seemed to work wonders for Tait and Hartley's reputations. Two players who struggled to get a game for us in their last season most likely wouldn't get a game for us now either.
  20. I vividly rember watching that Pat Nevin goal from my seat in the cooper. All that running around his boots paid off. I get this game mixed up with the one where Tony Thomas scored, think that was a cup game. The whole game right here https://youtu.be/0flk6ZD_T_M
  21. I would have been about 9 for my first game, and my oldest would have been 3ish when I first took him, when Gretna were sharing the sand pit with us. He just ran about with a Capri sun. His next game was the Flamurtari one at Airdrie, and he wasn't the slightest bit interested either. He did get more into it at the last scottish cup final, his 3rd game. The middle one is a girl, and football is for boys* I had hopes of getting my youngest (4) into it this year, but our move back home got scrapped, so he'll need to wait. He is vaguely aware that football is a thing, but calls all sports baseball. I don't think me swearing at my laptop before everyone wakes up is endearing anyone to the game. *joke
  22. I'm interested in both options here. Pakora pie: Some pakora in a pastry case, maybe with pakora sauce mixed in. Pie Pakora: a pakora made out of pie meat and pastry bits. There's no way neither of these things exist. I might order some pies and give it a go.
