You lucky b*****d. I love the area around La Rochelle. You’ll probably have forgotten all about the match by now. Enjoy your break.

Its certainly been better than bottom 6 fitba, thats for sure.

Been doing a bit of a tour round La Belle France - Paris, Loire Valley, here and off to Bordeaux tomorrow.

Really liked La Rochelle, we stayed on an extra couple of nights as we were enjoying it so much. We drove to a wee village in Ile de Re Friday (La Couarde de la mer) - very very classy, full of minted very well dressed Parisiens (and us 😆) with lovely wee cafes/restaurants and a deserted beach.

Real pity there are so few direct flights to LR from the UK and none at all from Scotland - mind you, at least that means that 99% of the people here are French and there are no arseholes in fitba tops......................

If we finish 9th and he’s still in charge after our ‘review’ then the club is run by those who don’t have a clue.

2nd goal was a carbon copy of the first, nobody in midfield marking Aberdeen free man.

He needs fired into the moon as he simply doesnt have a clue how to set up a team.

We have a CF there and have made zero passes to him today so far.

Just finished a 2 hour lunch in a lovely wee La Rochelle restaurant.

2 pichets of Bordeaux Red down and now back in the apartment (weather is not the 27c it was yesterday.......) so might have to watch this pish after all..........

Thankfully, have some more red wine supplies to get me through the apres midi.

Can be summarised as "YOU'RE THE REAL RACIST GET BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY EVERY BRITTISH PERSON AGREES WITH ME"

The "everyone agrees with me" bit is so common among racists. Life must be very confusing for them.

    I saw a - truly - incredible tweet from 30p Lee yesterday.

In a normal society we would be shaking our heads that he was deputy leader of a mainstream political party until recently.

    An out and out racist.

    BBC Radio 4 report tonight:

They went to a Scottish town to gauge opinion regarding Humza's resignation: Glasgow? Dundee? Aberdeen?

No, it was Dumfries. Solid Tory Dumfries. And the people they stopped all had non-Dumfries accents and sounded English to my mind. To be fair rather than getting "Hooray, the end of the SNP. Rule Britannia" type opinions the most strident opinion was "they're all useless". Hardly an endorsement of Ross, Sarwar or Cole-Hamilton really.

R4 Nick Robinson is in Edinburgh today, and they just went over the Scottish newspaper headlines (as if papers are in some way the main method that people consume news).

He was almost giggling at the Herald editorial slagging off HY departure, while he was at pains to state that The National was a paper "designed to pursue Independence" before reading out its headline.

I started listening to R4 a few months ago, as R Scotland is so horribly parochial, but when the presenters venture out of their London or Manchester ghettos, you do wonder how much of a clue they really have.

eta - they just interviewed people in Dingwall, and - rather oddly - found 3 people who could only say that the entire time had been a shambles, nothing worked, something about ferries and that we need an election.

Doesnt appear to be reflective of the national mood, or I imagine the mood in Dingwall.................

Would you tell the parents of Alesha Macphail that the person who killed their kid (who the snp deemed old enough to vote) doesnt belong in prison? Would you be so glib about it as you have here?

I dont want to be glib about it...........but, iirc the Chief Inspector of Prisons actually wanted a change to secure accommodation a few years ago, and the bill had support from other parties?

I suppose its designed to prevent young vulnerable bams from turning into older and more hardened bams in places like Polmont................although I do appreciate that there are some offenders - like the guy you mention above - who really do need to go away for a long time.

Obviously you see more of the end result than me.

The UN actually want under 25s removed from the prison system, no sure I agree with that !

You do have to wonder how Humza thought this was going to pan out. It's not like there's been any surprises here.

Best case scenario is that he thought the guy who used to have his job but now nurses a grudge would strongarm his bitter former leadership adversary into backing him regardless, which would make him a simpleton.

I dont think he is a particularly astute politician, but his hand was forced by the corner painted by Harvie and Slater.

We can argue all we like about whether the Greens would actually have decided on a VonC in 3 weeks or so, but if HY had let that play out it makes his govt look even weaker.  Ultimately, I dont think they had much choice but to boot the Greens into the long grass - even if that was at the expense of his job (which he must have seen as one of the main outcomes).

Harvie and Slater had stated over the weekend that their main beef was with HY and if the SNP selected a new leader then that would perhaps give a solution - and yet we have Harvie on the radio this am "warning" against Kate Forbes !

When the SNP put a new leader in place, the likes of the Greens and Alba will be placed squarely under the spotlight - will they side with Unionists if Labour go through with their (ludicrous) VonC against the entire government?

    Unlikely imv.
