  1. Came in about 11pm on Monday, queue initially was outside Border Control but moved quickly and baggae was through soon after so no real complaints.
  2. Probably the best performance I have seen for a very long time. Took Stranraer 40 minutes before they had a shot that was high and wide. Can only assume that was a different Stranraer to the team that has gone 5 games undefeated. Thought the keeper was lucky to remain on after conceding the penalty. All our goals were well taken and Taylor has lightning pace. Not much to add to what has already been said but must agree about Darren Jackson and the way he commands his area, he has been a great signing.
  3. Were you there for the start or did you do your usual entrance 20 minutes late?
  4. Grandson is 6 years old and his great gran died about 6 months ago. He would see her maybe once a week or so when she was alive but did not seem overly close to her. She always thought that he was a bit wild compared to his sister. On the day of the funeral he picked some flowers at school and had to go and lay them on her grave that night. He has a blanket that lay on her bed and a soft toy made from another. He has mentioned several times that he wishes he was dead so he could see his great gran again. This morning he has said he is going on a hunger strike so that he will die and see great gran again. He has refused to eat his breakfast and asked that the toy and blanket be removed from his bed as it makes him too sad. Apart from this he is a typical wee boy wild and full of life although some of the things he comes away with makes it seem like he is a deep thinker. Time for him to see a Grievance Councillor? Any advice gratefully received.
  5. According to the BBC last night's fixture between Bo'ness and Celtic B was cancelled due to International Call Ups. How are the B teams supposed to develop when you have teams like Bo'ness crammed with Internationals?
  6. Have either broken a tooth or the filling has fallen out - did not feel anything until this morning. Went to dentist first thing and explained what the problem was. Unless it is swollen or I am in extreme pain there is no available appointment until January. The receptionist suggest going to the Chemists and get a temporary filling kit! What a state out Health Service is in.
  7. Just back from Majorca, hotel restaurant was buffet service and had a hot grill area which had three bowls of different sauces. Along came a female, who was old enough to know better, lifted the spoon from one of the bowls of sauce tasted it and put the spoon back in the bowl. She was totally nonplussed about it but her husband heard my comments and said nothing. Staff informed and bowl removed. Clarity B**tard.
  8. Just back off Easyjet flight to and from Palma. Not our choice of airline but that was what the package offered. On time, plane clean but seats are tight other than that pleasant enough flight.
  9. Absolute pish talk in the media about getting them made Dames for their efforts - at the end of the day they were losers. Nothing was said about the Women's Netball team who were beaten finalists just a few weeks ago. Media also crying their eyes out about the missing England players and the subsequent ban for the stamp on the Nigerian. No mention of the fact that Spain were not at full strength.
  10. But they will be under 25 so brain will not have fully developed thus they were unaware their actions were wrong.
  11. As others have stated I cannot believe that 2 days from the start of the league we only have a squad of 16. Had it been 16 top notch players that would have been bad enough but it looks like there may well be a couple of shirt fillers in there, time will tell. I would have been happy with a squad of 18 to start with and then use loanees for any that are struggling or needing offloaded. Any word if the manager is going to have a meeting with the fans. Would love to hear his thoughts and plans on the current situation? The first five games are going to be difficult and will give us a good indication of where we are.
  12. In a restaurant in Toronto a number of years ago the bill arrived and showed that they had added service charge. Waiter then queried as to why I was not leaving a tip. Remove the service charge and I will leave a tip I told him only for his to reply that they expected patrons to pay the charge and leave a tip. He was disappointed that day.
  13. Glad to see that you took Munro back. Has he learned how to pass to one of his own players yet?
  14. Had really high hopes that from our early signings we would go on to have a really strong squad and have a good season. Now getting the fear that we are in for another struggle unless we get a couple of decent signings in before the Forfar game. We cannot afford to be lacking in out first 4 or 5 games and be playing catch up.
  15. Sunak, for all the good he is, at least has a meeting with NHS leaders today. Scottish Parliament resumes on Tuesday and the item on the agenda to be discussed is Independence. Sturgeon showing what exactly her priorities rare..
  16. Bus drivers that refuse to enter the bay at the bus stop and sit out in the middle of the road preventing anyone from passing them.
  17. "Experts said a school shooting involving a 6-year-old is extremely rare, although not unheard of, while Virginia law limits the ways in which a child that age can be punished for such a crime." Very hard to believe the above statement. Should not be extremely rare it should be nigh on impossible. But see below...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Kayla_Rolland Above refers to an incident Michael Moore talked about in Bowling for Columbine. It is pretty harrowing.
  18. Rather than waste NHS time bought a kit from Boots and did it myself.
  19. Re Alcatraz - we are going to SF in May and last week I booked my tickets for Alcatraz. Try here - www.alcatrazislandtickets.com
  20. Great to see so many incompetents whose heads are firmly up their arses.
  21. A wee while ago I needed my ears syringed. Local health centre contacted and said they can do it but must get authorisation from a doctor first. Made appointment with doctor who took a quick look and filled in the form. A total waste of an appointment. Yes there might have been an underlying issue but surely that would have been picked up by staff carrying out the syringing. We need to adapt a more common sense approach to doctor's appointments.
  22. Hopefully he will have seen us on a few occasions before his appointment and have a rough idea of who and how he wants us to play. There are a few that need to be moved on, if at all possible, in this window and he must get a goalkeeper in the next week or so. On paper our back-line looks strong but in reality it is entirely different. Hopefully he can sort that shambles out and if so we start each game on a level playing field rather than knowing we will be conceding a goal in every game.
