  1. Archie's sister-in-law Ella Carter described his death as "barbaric", and said there "is nothing dignified about watching a family member suffocate. I know it must be hard to accept that someone's life is over but as far as I am concerned the "Barbaric" thing about this is how the wee boy had no dignity in death. The whole affair was turned into a circus and the actions of the mp are outrageous. Funnily enough I said to the other half that this is getting to the Hannah Moore stage.
  2. Behaviour like this should be in the C**** on the road section. Hope you are proud of yourself.
  3. It has been apparent since the cup games that certain players were uncomfortable with playing it our from the back and you just knew we would get caught out when teams cotton on to out tactics. There were plenty warnings last week and today just affirms it, yet from the after-match interviews it looks like we will be retaining it. Matty Yates goal was a cracker but apart from that. Why were changes not made at half-time? Two league games played, 3 halves where we have been totally underwhelming, things really have to change next week. We have the players the manager has to sort this out.
  4. Was taken to a night market in Cambodia a few years ago and sampled quite a few insects, amongst other stuff. Once you get your head round what you are eating some of them were not too bad.
  5. Opening league games are often quite nervy. We got the win which counts but there are issues to address. Too often we were getting caught trying to play it out from the back. Once teams start to press us high up we will have issues if we continue to play that way. Thought Sean Crichton had one of his best games for us. Yates is a find and Orr took his goal well. Wedderburn put in another great shift, who can take the ball from him as he is so physically strong. We had a very good first half but the second half was a nightmare and we were lucky to get out with the win. O'Reilly was not really on fire and I think Corbett needs a few weeks rest to get his niggly injuries sorted out. All in all we started with a win which is what counts, the next game will be interesting and it looks like it could be a very competitive league this year.
  6. Sewell apparently on a 1 game suspension from his time at Largs. Looking forward to this and we should know better where we stand after the match tomorrow as Rovers have had quite a good pre season.
  7. Still so far up the Bortis arse it is an embarrassment
  8. Pedantic staff preventing you accessing the booze lanes in Tesco and Asda in Falkirk prior to 10am. You are not buying the alcohol until you reach the checkout so why do they prevent you from putting it in your trolley/basket prior to that time? Staff quote it is against the Licensing Act but I don't know. In Lidl and Aldi you can walk past the booze without any issue. Anyone know if this is against the Act?
  9. Disappointed by the scoreline but not the performance. As Swifty said they were up for it and in that situation it is very difficult to counter. Thought the goals conceded were poor and the first penalty looked very soft but as said we kept trying to play football. Matty Yates looks a great signing and hopefully he can keep his form going. Looking forward to next week.
  10. Cracking result last night. Great comments from Neilly and FF. Swifty must now be getting a huge headache of the pleasant kind trying to work out what his best 11 is going to be.
  11. Good result yesterday but they were poor opposition. I like how we retain the ball and if there is nothing on then if gets recycled but there are times when you wish we put a few more crosses in earlier and see if anything comes from that. Miller was outstanding yesterday but agree that when Wedderburn came on things slowed down and we started to make life difficult for ourselves. Gives the manager food for thought. I have never been a great lover of Orr but I am sure last season things started off slowly for him before he found his form. I would, however, go into the next 2 games with Yates and Sewell as the front men. The Albion Rovers game is going to be interesting as it appears that they may not be as bad as we think they will be.
  12. Stolen, with thanks, from A Photographic History section Ochilview match in 1951: Stenhousemuir 3 Hibernian 5. Hibs wore their traditional green jerseys with white sleeves, Stenhousemuir maroon and white hoops.
  13. In his interview he stated that referee stated holding on to the ball is a mandatory red card. Will be interesting to see how often this is enforced on the field. Swift will be able to stand behind the dug out on Saturday but if 2 matches then he will be in the stand for the second game.
  14. Same - watched this the other night and really enjoyed it even although you knew the outcome to a certain degree. Rylance was really good but felt at times I was watching Bobby Ball.

  16. Latest Odds from Ladbrokes Bonnyrigg 3/1 Stenhousemuir 4/1 Dumbarton 5/1 Forfar 5/1 East Fife 8/1 Annan 9/1 Elgin 12/1 Stirling 12/1 Stranraer 16/1 Albion Rovers 33/1 Cannot see Bonnyrigg, in all reality, finishing as champs unless the bookies know something we don't
  17. Raab looking very uncomfortable on BBC a short while ago. Time is coming when they will surely throw him under the bus to save their own skins.
  18. Along the lines of the steve martin one but without any of the comedy. Do yourself a favour and give it a miss.
  19. Had the misfortune to watch the remake of Father of the Bride with Andy Garcia. One of the worst things I have ever watched.
  20. What a terrible goal to lose. Should have cleared it up the park, still lesson to be learned.
  21. This is when you really need a fans meeting with the manager and board to find out exactly what is going on. No bullshit just the facts and then you can gauge the lie of the land and if it is worth paying the overinflated price for a season ticket.
