The problem with yesterday was that it felt like we were all expecting it to happen. There was no atmosphere from the home fans for a big game and the Thistle fans put us to shame. We have been awful over the last few months with a few games papering over the cracks. We have been outplayed in most of the games I’ve seen this season including a lot of wins. If is wasn’t for Dipos early season form we’d be down with Cove etc and to be honest I had a wee look this morning just to check and I’m hoping the gap is enough. With the form of teams below us (Morton, Raith and ICT) and our own form I think we’ll struggle to make the playoffs and I’m worried about the Falkirk game. We are so one dimensional and easy to play against right now that it’s hard to see where our next win comes from. Having said all that, this is still far better that the last few seasons and we would all have bitten your arm off if you’d offered us 3rd in February and in the QFs against a lower league team. That and this Championship is the worst in years so as bad as we have been the opposition haven’t looked any great shapes so if Bullen can sort things out… Cant remember when Dipo last scored in the league. He obviously had his head turned and was giving it the ‘I’m homesick’ chat which has been clear to see over the last few months. We owe him a lot this season and he’s carried us but if he wants a good move he needs to get his finger out. Reminds me a wee bit of when we could/should have cashed in on Shankland.

Really hope we’re not away on a Monday night. Does anyone know if it’s the same spread of games as this weekend ie, Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon?

Thought the game followed the way most games have gone at home this season. Away team on top knocking ball about with Ayr getting few touches though keeper having little to do. We score on a break, opposition lose faith, Ayr grow into second half before dominating final quarter scoring again. Thought Raith played well until, as has been said, final third, then little up front. Stats with 20 mins to go where heavily in Raiths favour but Ayr pushed forward looking for killer third whilst Rovers lost heart. The dream goes on for at least another 2 weeks…

St Johnstones last win over The Rangers in Perth was that long ago Allan McGregor was in goals for Rangers.

He’s only been 2nd choice recently because of his injury a couple of months ago. Once fully fit he’ll be back in front of Tomiyasu, and it looks like he could be injured (Tomiyasu) so may be pushed up this weekend. Also will have a long rest during WC. Tierney probably MOTM tonight.

Anyone else concerned at the amount of howlers Gordon is chucking up at the moment. Thats at least 3 big errors in the last months when I don’t think I’ve seen 3 in the previous 15 years from him. Hopefully just a wee phase
