  1. That is what I meant in another post about England being weighed down by the Union, same as all the countries are though for different reasons. An England that is no longer "leading" the union if Scotland and whoever else leaves it would imo quite quickly rediscover itself and find a more modern identity that looks more forward than to the past Independence for Scotland is a win win for Scotland and England, imo ofcourse
  2. one question I have about Scotland rejoining the EU after an independence win, is whos going to make that desicion, will it be a referendum? I would hope it is along with any other fundamental questions that need taken. I guess its not maybe discussed yet as I havent read anything
  3. I think from my experience a lot of those countries you list, while pro EU they do feel that Germany and France have too big a say, particulary Germany
  4. I have thought for a while now that the union weighs them down just as much as it does us
  5. i think the opposite I think this time it will be relatively easy for Yes to win. That deosnt mean it wont take a lot of hard work and reaching out to all voters. I just think the odds are so stacked in Yes favour with Brexit, a particulary unpleasent tory party, the most unpopular leader since thatcher in Scotland and if its true the fact that a lot of nationalists seem to think the younger generations are massively pro indy. All that to me indicates a walk in the park with a reasonably competent campaign. The hardest bit will be getting the referendum
  6. I will be voting yes, just that I believe we should manage our own affairs. Its as simple as that for me. As much as I think it will be a good thing for us in the long term. I also think it will be the same for England and in long term they will prosper from it as much as us
  7. agree and that could be included in any written agreement, something could be done to take away this boring talk that happens before an indyref evens begins, if anything all the shite beforehand helps the unionist side and people tire of the debate before its even began everything becomes old news if its discussed for too long and nothing changes
  8. not too soon for me with the Brexit argument, without that it would be too soon for me and I doubt without brexit the momentum for one would be winnable compared to last time, i think indyref now would be easy to win once its granted
  9. I think the aim is that this adds the pressure to get an Indyref
  10. it would need to be a public discussion, maybe a citizens assembly of Scots
  11. Id still go longer but thats how the discussion starts and at end we have an agreed timescale and your right it should have a clear agreed process for achieveing a referndum also. We have that 90% of the talk around this subject is gone and focus can be on the important thing yes or no
  12. I think for these fundamental issues like independence and brexit an agreed interval makes sense, for example to look at it another way if its a yes vote for independence and for whatever reason, outside issues, anything some early downsides occur and support grows to stop the process of independence. Are we going to have a vote after a coupe of years to not follow indpendence through. It would make sense imo for these big fundamental change issues to only occure after agreed time intervals and after the vote whatever desicion is left as it is until next agreed window opens
  13. I would agree with that but would make it longer than 7 years but the time frame would be something to be discussed and agreed by all
  14. imo these sort of fundamental questions are so dominating of the political time that some sort of agreed interval between referendums should be part of the agreement. Thats good for everyone imo That deosnt stop any party carrying on with an independence path it just means its all clear and agreed how often the window is open to have these votes
  15. One thing has to be agreed , after this indy and imo it will happen , when exactly its the difficult part. It has to be the last one for a long while. Get indy done by Oct next year and have it in writing we are done with the question whatever the result until 2045 earliest.
  16. That is a risk of this, that it drags on for a few years with no change, though I doubt that will be the case
  17. I get what your saying but I think from a yes perspective its about building up the pressure
  18. It would be a mark of consistency in the level of support for another indyref though and add pressure in getting one I think
  19. If we vote for that, that cant be something decided post independence without a vote
  20. I read it as that too, no really viable otherwise
  21. I hope it can be written into this indyref when agreed (for me it will happen) that its agreed regardless of result no other referendum will be held within 20 years
  22. Its got to start somewhere, all that matters now is winning it
  23. Wonder would he be a certain starter at Madrid, if he wants to go we cant stop him. I dont think we can replace him this season, the added value of a regular penalty taker/scorer is difficult to replace ontop of how good a rightback he is. Though we could strengthen the team and be better if the money is used to improve more than one position. Any idea what the sell on is for Warsaw if he goes
  24. Independence is neither AOUB, Alba or SNP. Plenty independence voters who are not in any party or group
