  1. I’ve just seen Oli Shaw’s miss on Sportscene. He’s a terrible striker.
  2. Stupid Hibs and stupid Nick Montgomery. For a brief moment I actually thought we were going to keep a clean sheet.
  3. I’m taking the wee man through for this, he’s been wanting to go to another away game. The only other time I’ve been to Fir Park it was 2-2 and Stephen Glass scored. I fancy a repeat of that score line.
  4. Idles were outstanding last night. It was a massive venue - 16000 capacity - but they pulled it off. A 2 hour set, the standing crowd was totally bouncing, I was quite glad to be watching from up above.
  5. I landed in Berlin this evening. Check in and security staff were on strike but thankfully incoming flights were unaffected. From joining the passport queue to being allowed in only took 3 minutes. Currently enjoying a Burgermeister then heading for a couple of beers around Mitte. Idles gig tomorrow night with some sightseeing during the day and potentially a lower league football match. I love this city.
  6. Massive queue due to the public sale starting at 10am. I got into the system ok having been put in a queue at about 10 to 10. Picking seats is awkward on a phone, I kept having seats added to my order when I tried to move the map. A bit fiddly but I managed to get Portugal tickets, the checkout and adding my son for the second ticket was easy enough.
  7. Hibs have been greatly improved in the last couple of matches. It’s a game we need to win to boost our chances of a top 6 finish. This evidence points to us not winning.
  8. I’ve just booked to see Idles in Berlin next month. I’ve had the urge to see them for a while and didn’t fancy the Hydro in November so decided a European trip would be fun.
  9. Boyle scores for Australia. Should never have been a penalty but he took it well.
  10. Just realised I’ve put this in the wrong thread. That said, I’ll probably see more chances for a Hibs player in this game than I will tomorrow.
  11. If anyone wants to see how Boyle and Miller get on against Uzbekistan, it’s about to start on Fite TV 2.
  12. McLarens is where I got mine as Sadlers had none left - presumably as they’d sent them all to Station Park.
  13. I wish there were more 360 grounds. I went to Arbroath once and walked the whole way round, it was brilliant seeing the home fans change ends at half time.
  14. Hibs were murder in the first half, don’t know how Forfar weren’t a couple of goals up by half time. Second half was better, our subs made a difference and we could have had at least one more. The day on the whole was very enjoyable, it’s what the cup is all about. Station Park is a decent ground, one I’ve never been to before and possibly won’t be at again. The bridie before the game was good but I still prefer a steak pie. Nice to hear the home fans giving Douglas Ross so much abuse.
  15. I agree. Even if Hibs were at home today I probably wouldn’t have made it, there’s too many other things to be doing this weekend.
  16. FC Copenhagen 1-2 Aarhus We’re on a family holiday in Copenhagen, so I took the opportunity to take my youngest son to a local game. Copenhagen have been setting the pace in the Danish Superliga this season, but have stumbled recently, and Brondby’s win earlier in the day meant that FCK kicked off in second place. They were still there at full time thanks to two goals from corners which Copenhagen defended horrendously, and some excellent work from Aarhus’s goalkeeper. Copenhagen had two goals correctly disallowed for offside, and despite having the huge majority of possession and chances, couldn’t take anything from the game. It was a great experience for both me and the wee man - we barely ever travel to away matches, never mind foreign games - impressive stadium, good atmosphere in both ends, and very easy to get to on public transport. Man of the match was Elias Achouri, a Tunisian winger who looked dangerous on the attack and got FCK’s goal.
  17. Billy Bragg at the Usher Hall was absolutely superb tonight. A 2 hour set covering his career, with plenty of anecdotes and politics in between songs. For the encore he did the first album in all its 17 minute glory. A glorious night.
  18. Team number in the group isn’t tied to the pot, a team will be drawn out for a group then their number will be drawn, so we could be any number.
  19. Thanks for this, I grabbed a pair of tickets and took the wee man - it was a brilliant surprise for him, he was absolutely buzzing!
  20. I got tickets for that this morning, I’ve seen both bands several times before and it should be a great night. Glad now that I didn’t make the trip to the US for their joint tour last year. I’ve never been to a gig at the castle either so not quite sure what to expect.
  21. Good game today, both teams wanting to play football. I’ve always rated Rudden as a striker but his defensive work stood out today. Carson was also very good. Beck looks like a cracking player.
  22. On my way into town now. Haven’t been to watch Hibs in over a month for various reasons, so I’m looking forward to this one, especially as it feels like absolutely ages since I’ve seen the Dee.
