  1. Good cover for all the midweek games we may have. If Cove win, that’s definitely two and if we make the final of the cup that’s 3 minimum.
  2. If we don’t bench Long after the last two weeks then we know fine well we need to play him as part of some condition from his parent club.
  3. Having watched the highlights back and my thoughts from the time, is there no hint of offside on their second goal? I mean the guy is literally on the line and hasn’t moved. Suppose there was no real complaints from players or management.
  4. Very fair post, maybe tell this to your manager going by his comments this morning.
  5. Thing is, most teams would have struggled on that surface today and that’s just a matter of fact.
  6. I spoke with the Bonnyrigg scout during the week quite a bit as I work beside him. He was at our game against Edinburgh and he said that they were going to target Long all game because in his words “he’s not tall enough or commanding enough”. He saw that in one game. He also said they were going to target set pieces and you can’t play on their grass. We knew this would be the case. Another two goals for set pieces, Long comes for the first and gets no where near it and it’s in. Second one finishes with the boy a yard or so away from Long and he puts it past him. He’s got to be so much braver and sharper and come and punch that ball. It’s confirmed what I said weeks ago, Hogarth is the better keeper by some distance. The pitch is as bad as I’ve ever saw. My U18’s team I coach played on a better grass pitch this morning in the middle of a council estate. It totally evens the game up. We aren’t hammer throwers. We don’t play for set pieces. We play football and unfortunately we couldn’t do that today. We can’t make ourselves more physical or whatever have you , you either are or aren’t. I don’t think any team deserved to win that. Second half they did nothing until the 90 odd minute. We had some decent chances, Donaldson in particular second half. Morrison with his 1v1 miss too was a massive chance. Pressure is firmly now on us next week because of McGlynn last week IMO. We can’t go three without a win or Hamilton will be licking their lips.
  7. Don’t know where to start with that article but I’ll make a go of it. First of all, it’s a clear attempt to unsettle our squad as up until now they are miles off us footballing wise as the last game suggested between the sides so they need to try something. Second of all, imagine the message it sends to their attackers when they want to sign three players who all play in similar positions, so that’s a bonus for us. Thirdly, imagine letting that go out. We’ve tried to take not one but two of the team above us’ better players but they’ve said no. Everyone knows there is not a hope in hell we’ll accept anything that Hamilton or any other team outside the top 6 in Scotland could give us for three players in January. It would almost certainly guarantee we wouldn’t win the league. Would have to be silly, silly money to make us part with them. It just screams utter desperation really.
  8. My stream wasn’t the best yesterday so actually missed a lot of the game. However after watching the highlights, we should have scored a lot more than 2 even in that first half. 2 off the bar and 2 off the line. I suppose on another day they might go in for us.
  9. Totally agree. The defender puts his hands on Donaldson’s waist in the box. Is it soft? Absolutely. Is it a penalty? By the letter of the law , Yes. The uproar from Hamilton fans and Dunfermline fans () on twitter is laughable.
  10. One thing I realised tonight that makes it even more madness to change to a formation we aren’t used to is that we had little time to actually train to adapt to it. We played on Tuesday, were off Wednesday so only could practice it Thursday and Friday which is no time really to learn a totally alien formation. Would prefer we did the changing of the team next week in what’s sure to be an interesting game on a cow field.
  11. Let’s never see your 3-4-1-2 again John. Clearly all to suit Jordan Allan.
  12. I don’t buy the “this shows the subs aren’t good enough”. They were on a hiding to nothing either btw and it was actually detrimental to them. 6 changes to any team usually results in that team playing poorly. If we had made maybe 2 or 3 I don’t think we would have been as poor. The change of formation was frankly ludicrous. The only thing it confirmed to me, that I’ve been saying for months, Allan isn’t the answer. He cannot play up front himself and only works in a two. MacIver was a massive miss too.
  13. Don’t give a flying hoot. That’s 2 points dropped to me.
  14. Another thing he’s potentially fucked right up is the feel good factor that’s been built around this team and the club. If we lose this, you know what it’s going to be like. Everyone will be up in arms losing to team full of loan players and rightly so. There was no need to potentially unwrap all the hard work that’s been done.
  15. If we had started with Bisland we could have kept him on and brought Morrison on instead of Yeats. Edinburgh have been scoring even when they were losing. I just can’t understand McGlynn today. He should rightly be questioned.
  16. Absolutely disgraceful from McGlynn. Just what the f**k did he think the was doing? We’ve worked fucking hard to get 11 points clear and then he fucks about with the team? He could have done it next week. Words cannot express how angry I am, as should the board be. We need to get as many points as possible and quickly and he does this. Get this “we need everyone to get game time”. No , the fucking earn their place in the 11 and until then they’ll have to wait. Fuming.
  17. It’s only taken us 6 years but we’ve finally been given a performance from Hartley that we’ve all wanted.
  18. That was utter domination from the start. I know from the minute I saw him up front himself that’s the performance we’d see from Burrell. Another team coming with negative tactics, despite Hartley saying in the press it was only 1 loss in 17, to hit us on the counter. Michael Doyle is a pathetic football too, diving to try and buy free kicks. That second half we were a total pleasure. Hartley was his usual self who cannot handle defeat. No shake of hands with our players or the referee just straight up the tunnel. A pathetic rat of man.
  19. MacIver has been excellent. His movement as it’s been said has been top drawer. Was only a matter of time before we scored I felt. More please as Cove will get a chance from a set piece or counter.
  20. With Hamilton looking to further strengthen this month I’m hoping we get the points on board to create a lead that no matter who they sign it won’t matter!
  21. Don’t think it matters too much. I think this week is fairly pivotal until the mid Feb. We ‘could’ be 11 points clear by tomorrow. Then you’d imagine we’ll be too strong for Edinburgh and you’re hoping Cove may get a draw or so on Saturday at Hamilton. That could potentially open up a 13/14 point gap. All ifs buts and maybes.
  22. As long as you guys don’t sign anyone before Tuesday evening . In all seriousness how are you guys set up for Tuesday? A lot of injuries? Confident of getting something or fearing the worst?
