Is our shirt really that famous though Marvin?

His media training coming to the forefront as he knows all the right things to say. We are all giving him until he gets his own players but he will realise how difficult that is to spend our budget as I would imagine the quality he will be wanting will want decent money or he has to buy players like Brydon who he hopes he can improve with coaching. He will know you need of youth and experience to be successful. Hard summer ahead but final 11 games will give him an idea what is required to be successful in this league as we will play all team that we will possibly face next year.

  2. I think going by Bartley's comments on the interview and the outing the players for poor professionalism at the AGM. We can say he will not be looking to keep any of the out of contract players and the ones who are contracted need to buck their ideas if they do not up things. Reilly has found that out already,

McKay has had a really poor season although since Bartley has come in he has played slightly better. Wilson is a cracking player but his injury record is really poor. Lewis is the only one who has played well this year at times.

Brydon is a Bartley signing whether we sign Logan if he impresses only time will tell. That is the type of player he says he wants young and hungry that can improve and he can improve and possibly make some money for the club.

Was thinking Cochrane, East, Ruth, McKechnie are all under 23 as well as all the young boys and the club would be due a fee if we offer them a contract. So do we offer say the first 3 a contract even if Bartley does not want them to possibly get a development fee for the club. To be honest I think Bartley would just let them go and start afresh.

Do agree that every sub we made yesterday made us worse though

So the player we all say coming on(Wilson) is our best player made our team worse. We need minutes in his legs to get him back. Cochrane was knackered because he was the only one in midfield working hard and Murray was again hopeless that's why Bartley brought the 2 midfielders on. The first 2 subs were the ones that weakened us if that is what you are talking about.

    Dubrowski

    Logan Brydon East Hendrie

    Gibson Cochrane Wilson

    Kabia Paton Connolly

We need 4 in the middle of the park the Hamilton game and the Kelty game they both played through us very easily. Move young Gibson further forward and I feel you will see a totally player. Hopefully Bartley sees that although he does not see that Connor Murray is a total waste of a jersey for last 2 games.

  5. I have no problem with Bartley outing the players in public. I am old enough as I come from a generation where hard work is a must. Why play people like Murray when you are looking for hard work. Kabia needs a kick up the arse as well. McKechnie and Irving coming on is not players who are going to change a game for any team. McKechnie never takes a man on and beats the defender and young Irving positioning and decision making is poor.

Bartley saying that a lot of players are out of contract is threatening they already know this. Don't think players will down tools for him but many managers have went down this root and the managers don't last long all be it at a lot higher level were they can afford to ditch them. I'm from the carrot or stick generation and I stil believe this exists today as all personalities are totally different and need different approaches. That is what man management is all about finding the best way to get the best out of them in any industry.

My other issue over the last few games is the amount of time the Todd has had on the pitch he has been really poor but stays on the pitch all the time going against everything Bartley promises. He is not a captain or a leader in my opinion. Only player I heard on the pitch yesterday was Cochrane

  6. Cochrane was the only one today that got pass marks. Brydon, Todd and Murray were hopeless. Kabia unlucky with header but boy is he lazy. When are we going to stop playing young Lewis as a wing back he is getting exposed to often on the defensive side. Play him further up the park it will be so much better.

  7. Well everyone believes that Bartley will be a good manager one day. But has to prove it with results. As I said in previous posts he identified our problem positions and brought people in. But all the same mistakes happening form some of the new players as well.

Again Murray was a total  waste a of a jersey but again gives him 65 minutes as he was against Hamilton.

Yes individual errors cost us again as it did for WG. Hy did Brydon not just tackle their forward when he had the chance. Harsh penalty bit it did not his arm.

I'm sorry I know we all enjoyed Ross scoring his first goal but he is not the answer at all in my opinion.

Kabia looked okay in first half but he has to up his work rate.

People say on here they think Todd plays well every week. I honestly believe he has been below average for a long time.

Then again most of our players are below average I guess. If this is them ayong for their own futures then as someone else said they better start looking for a new profession.

  8. Ultimately the decision for Paton if he is given the option to play higher up. He easily could be a regular in championship team like Ayr or Morton or does he sign on for another year under project Bartley.

We should go all out to try and tempt Dabrowski to sign cracking keeper and would make a huge difference in L1.

Logan and Kabia have the rest of the campaign to prove they are the answer.

It could be a full rebuild if players don't impress Bartley and I am sure he will have already compiled a list of players he would like to work with in the future.

Interestingly from Bartley's interview on Alba he said his philosophy is winning game switch the players he has inherited and getting a formation that suits those players and then implement his own style when he has his own players and has that winning mentality. Plus signs so far are the increase in fitness in a small space of time. The players know if they do not follow his instructions they will be watching the game. Found it interesting in Hamilton game he used McKenna before D McKay does that mean he does not rate him either. Expect some movement over the next fortnight with players going out. Obviously the 3 he has mentioned but possibly others as well.

Hopefully Wilson and Connelly back in full training this week to give more options. We were to open in the Hamilton game and Cochrane was fighting the midfield battle on his own due to Murray and Todd being more forward thinking.

Cochrane has been really good since Bartley came in and I think it would be more beneficial to have him and Wilson in the centre of midfield to give us that solidity.

Have been really impressed by young Brydon he obviously was one of the first parts of Bartley's jigsaw.

It's a very long shot from where we are now. But who knows, a wee run of wins at 3 points a pop combined with one of the teams currently above us hitting the buffers and its amazing how quickly things can change.  Even if we don't make the top 4, a few wins and playing better keeps the interest going and brings some positivity to the club.  All the while Marvin is working on who he keeps for next season and talking to agents about who could be available next season - which, as you say, is the big picture now.

Who should we keep for next season?

Only Brydon, Gibson, P McKay, Reilly and Wilson are under contract.

Logan has been released by Hearts. Dabrowski out of contract at Hibs. Kabia out of contract at Livi.

Surely gives us a chance with these players if they are interested in staying and are up to the standard Bartley is looking for with us although in a short space of time I would imagine Dabrowski will not be short of offers,

Reilly has been told he is free to leave on loan initially and is obviously not part of the managers plan.

Wilson and Connelly injury records this year have been poor but Wilson is a fantastic player and gives such a presence when available. Connelly has been average this year when he has played but I think he needs a run of games to see the best of him.

All the other guys out of contract are fighting for their futures. Some will no doubt want to look elsewhere and some may want to stay to be part of the future project under Bartley.  Interesting few months ahead.
