  1. Clyde left Shawfield nearly 38 years ago. There are a nearly 2 whole generations of Clyde fans who have never seen the team play there. Move on man
  2. I would be more than happy to share my reasons, and as I say this is just my perosnal opinions on the matter 1)The squad much like Peterhead’s in its current state isn’t good enough. I don’t think a change of manager for either club will see any pickup in form. Happy to be proved wrong. 2)As I said, in my opinion if we finish 9th or 10th we will be going down. This team don’t have it in them to win 2 2 legged ties in the playoffs against in form teams. Duffy actually improved the squad in my opinion in spite of having the leagues top scorer sold from under him and we are still miles off it. Again will be delighted if proven wrong. 3)The Swift taking over from Duffy in the summer rumour is at this stage just a rumour. All be it a likely one. If the plan for the board was to bring him in and sound him out for the main job, or to have him around the squad before giving him the job in the summer this plan shouldn’t change because of what Peterhead are doing. 4) Next season should in my opinion be a fresh start. If that’s with Swift taking over officially then he shouldn’t have the stink of whatever happens in the run in on him 5) If there is no plan from the board for Swift to take over in the summer and to move him on. Handing him the job just now and he keeps us up forces our hand. We should see why division we are in before making decisions like this 6) Is Stephen Swift the answer? Jury’s out 7) Not sure getting rid of managers in the hope of new manger bounces is a viable model to run. How long till we get rid of Swift for another manager for example. Swift gets till end of regular season if we finish 9th with no up turn in form so we get rid of him for the playoffs? Again I’m more than happy to have my mind changed on these. My viewpoint at the moment is very pessimistic, just want the season done and we go again in the summer hopefully in league 1 but likely league 2. We are awful and the buck stops with Danny Lennon and The current board for that.
  3. I think there’s quite a few reasons why we shouldn’t appoint Swift as our manager just now. Most importantly of all being is that we will most likely be going down regardless of us being 10th or 9th. We can’t just chop and change because others have done so.
  4. From reading the proposal we would be converting the current 11 a side pitch into a stadium. I’d imagine the 5 a side pitches down the bottom left would need to be removed in order to make space. Behind the 5s pitches is a housing estate. Not sure what the building is on the other side of the 11s pitch but I’d imagine it’s not getting knocked down. Ultimately it’s all speculation just now. The worrying thing would be the fact all our eggs are in this basket with no backup. Truly a pivotal moment in the clubs history
  5. All these posters should be pretty easy to spot at the next game
  6. Ultimately we do not know as the question has never to my knowledge been asked. My understanding was through Lennons own admission the recruitment issues lied with him- “ I have final say on player recruitment” or words to that effect-There were suggestions that perhaps Lennon didn’t want to work with them or take on advice from them. If true you either move on the manager and find one willing to work with your salaried recruitment team or you move on the recruitment team and give free rein to the manager. It’s all fair and well saying they are comedians or a waste of a wage etc but ultimately we don’t know the relationship or the way the relationship worked. You would think at a fan owned club these things would be transparent.
  7. The calls for Duffy to go now whilst understandable are absolutely unrealistic. The blame for the current situation lies solely at the feet of the current board and Danny Lennon respectfully. Lennon should have been relieved of his duties long before he was and he coasted by on goodwill from promotion and being an undoubtedly “ nice guy” and a “ good football man”. He was given numerous transfer windows and wasted a lot of transfer budget on players that weren’t good enough and can’t be moved on. Will be interested to see if he gets another job as I personally think at this stage he is at his point in his career where he would make a better assistant manager. The board should have seen the Groundhog Day and he should have been moved on in the summer, giving him a new deal and this season was completely reckless. The club is currently at as low a point as I can remember and looking back it’s easy to see how we ended up here. From decisions that are decades old to things as simple as 4 different chairmen in 6 years. The club has no leadership and when things are going well on the park like the 18 months of the promotion and the half season in league 1 it’s excusable. When you are being served up utter nonsense football by players no where near good enough season after season then it’s unforgivable. it’s a sad state of affairs, but ultimately Duffy won’t be going anywhere and the next 2-3 weeks will be crucial in staying up this year. Recruitment has to be spot on. Everything from the ground up needs to be looked at just now, from the CIC model, the value we get from the recruitment team a football philosophy and a new manager capable of delivering it. A complete reset of everything required ready to go again this summer if we are in league 1 or not
  8. Airtricity league runs from February until November and he signed in July until the end of the season over there so he is a free agent. Reckon Duffy will have his eye on a few moves and will no doubt turn to players he has worked with before. Rob Jones won’t be one however
  9. There has been no long term vision or stability at the club for a very long time, Danny Lennon had to work with 4 different Chairmen in his tenure as manager, a ludicrous statement in its self. It’s been evident for a while that our current board don’t have a clue how to grow the club and relied heavily on the party line of “ Broadwood was a noose around the clubs neck”. Ultimately with that excuse in place there’s not much incentive to try and get things better. Ultimately Clyde have became a league 2 team in waiting, hopefully we can be up the right end of the table when the time comes to go back down Will crownpoint ever materialise or be any different to our situation at Broadwood? Time will tell but, when Clyde moved to Broadwood the proposition of having a football team and the football climate was very very different. The club needs gutted from top to bottom however as long as we keep putting volunteers in key positions on the board I’m afraid we won’t be able to attract the level of people we need or the roles get the time they need, and there is no money to fix that issue.
  10. I don’t really find the appointment that surprising to be honest, assuming the deal is to the summer. We are paying off a huge contract, are currently consigned to a relegation fight and it’s 7th of November. We have to be one of the most unattractive jobs in the country. It was always going to be a Duffy/Bollan type. Looking for a way back into the game, available and experienced. Duffy also knows the club. If it’s the right appointment time will tell, hopefully he will tighten the ship and we will stop losing daft goals. I guess one positive is that Dumbarton never got relegated when he was there and went straight down after he left. Maybe he can get the players fighting and battling for points. Who knows, sometimes you need to look for the positives even if there aren’t many. Here’s hoping he can keep us up and he can hand over a league 1 club to a better candidate in the summer
  11. Issue with Lauchlan is that he has a habit of leaving teams before things get hard. Done well to scrape Peasy up on the last day last year then left as soon as he started losing some players. Left EK after losing the playoff final v Cowdenbeath. Left Rossvale halfway through the season after getting them promoted Seems like he only wants promotions/ success on his CV and avoids the challenge. Which obviously doesn’t help us in this situation
  12. Just took the head of football operations job at St Johnstone
  13. Completely forgot Darren Young was at Stirling. Agreed there is no chance then.
  14. Yes could see them coming in. I’d file Darren Young and Gary Bollan in that similar vein of available and level we could get in
  15. With regards to Diamond and Corr. We really don’t know much about what they done and how Danny worked with them. This should be addressed at the meeting , as they might be getting it in the neck for Danny not wanting to work with them. For what it’s worth, the repeated failings in areas regarding recruitment and bringing back Nicoll, Munro, Lyon etc reeks of Danny acting and not a recruitment team. In terms of a new manager I reckon we either give it to Moore for the season or we end up with someone like Jim Duffy to try and sure things up for the rest of the season. A new manager would want a summer window and a club not engaging in a relegation battle on November 1st.
  16. I believe Otoo was a left back that can also play in CDM? Could be wrong Cuddihy and McNiff whilst performing well there were still very much shoehorned in. McNiff looked absolutely lost at L1 playing there yet Lennon persisted. Obviously not McNiffs fault, the blame lies with the manager.
  17. Can’t forget McNiff, which was fairly successful the season we got promoted but he was rancid in league 1 playing that role
  18. I still remember the Game against Dumbarton I think second last game of the Covid season, we had Otoo on loan from Celtic who was a left back and he was playing really well there. Then for this one game he inexcusably put Otoo at left mid and Ally Love at left back. We did not win this game
  19. Just stop responding to them and giving them what they want. Block and move on. Just click the 3 lines at the top right ( or whatever you see to access account settings) >Account> Ignored users >Type the name in>Check all the boxes >Move on.
  20. Interestingly we didn’t pick up a single point during Liz Truss’ time in Downing Street
  21. So if you want Danny to go now you are a “ fair weather fan” but if he loses on Saturday then you agree he has to go. 8 loses on the bounce is fine but 9 too much. Or is this a case of Saturday is a fresh start for some reason?
  22. “No, I’m a bigger Clyde fan you. No , im a bigger Clyde fan than you”
