  1. Hughes is in the same bracket as McCall and Brown and I feel is way out our reach. Next manager who comes in should have knowledge and experience of managing part time football or at least a body of work outside the top flight to show that they can work at our level
  2. Undoubtedly the correct decision to get rid of McLean despite him being given a rough hand. Id imagine in our current state and league position we are looking either at a young manager looking to break in higher up the league or an experienced head who is looking to get back in the job pool. With that in mind I think McCall and Brown as mentioned previously are a bit out our depth. Wouldn’t bother with Thomson as he wouldn’t be up for the project of it I feel, hes played his hand in that regard before. Maybury I think could be a decent shout alongside McInally. Got an inescapable feeling it’s going to be Peter Grant Sr…
  3. This is what tends to happen when you are trying to buy a teams prize forward on deadline day
  4. The fact that you think being challenged about sharing private information about a vulnerable young adult as someone taking the moral high ground” says everything.
  5. They weren’t widely known, what you have posted is lifted directly from his mothers post. A post you have said is up to her to share further afield. Disgraceful behaviour
  6. I was talking about you and your actions. I agree 100% it’s her decision, so that’s why I’m shocked you would share her sons health issues here on a public forum
  7. “It’s up to the mother if she posts her message further afield” Posts her sons medical issues on a public forum.
  8. There’s literally hundreds of podcasts that I don’t particularly like, yet I don’t continually engage with them, their hosts and I certainly don’t offer to sponsor them.
  9. it’s like playing the Euromillions. Always have that optimism despite the writing being on the wall and knowing it will end with that inevitable feeling at the end of the night. Unfortunately I think we are absolutely snookered here, there is an absolutely toxic feeling around the club. All the eggs are in the Crownpoint basket, board apparently not willing to splash some of the donors money on a much needed goal scorer. As has been said for years we are sleep walking to the lowland league, and the boards embarrassing conference league statement told us that’s where they were resigned to us going. If previous post about looking for out of contract and loan players are true then that doesn’t fill me with confidence. It’s a market that has been open to us this whole time, I’m not sure who they are expecting to unearth that can help us out. The fact is we HAVE to spend money on transfers to get out this situation, especially up front or we might be as well turning the lights off. We are staring at the real possibility that we could end up with no Crownpoint and in the lowland come the end of the season. We would have no one to blame but ourselves for it either. As I say, much like the euromillions maybe our ticket will come in but can’t help shake the feeling that it’s September and I wish the season was over already. The fans will only turn up and watch the this utter tripe for so long.
  10. Can’t wait for some deadline day drama tomorrow. See there is a guy playing for Cumbernauld Colts called Billy Mortimer banging them in and is currently the second top scorer in the lowland with 7 already this season, maybe he’s worth a punt…
  11. Ok… Who have you been told we were in for?
  12. I think saying that because they haven’t won the league he wouldn’t be suitable is a bit reductive no? Are there many managers with multiple league winners medals that have successful squads looking to join a Clyde in free fall to the lowland league?
  13. If it’s there I can see us spending some cash on some bodies and buying players. It’s the only way out the current hole we find ourselves in. Realistically money would need to be spent wisely but, top end league 2, lowland league, west of Scotland types or guys further up the chain not getting game time. Question is can we get them in? Even without all the off field turmoil it would have been a hard task In terms of who I would bring in for what it’s worth if there is cash to be spent and down the line id be interested to see how a guy like Gordon Moffat at Clydebank or similar style manager could do. Young, plays nice football and has an in depth knowledge of a player market we should be performing a lot better in. A guy like that coming in and doing a Maitland style job at Clyde would be interesting. Of course the risk with that is that you end up like Stenny in the Swift era
  14. I have had a bit of time to reflect on this whole issue and documented some of my thoughts here Once you see who appears to be the main driving force of this EGM bid, it unfortunately becomes pretty clear as to why they haven’t came to the fore front. Quite frankly there just isn’t a lot of goodwill there and they possibly knew a lot of fans would have instantly ( and in my opinion rightfully so) not engaged with them had they been seen to be the ones spearheading it. It appears they have instead engaged with Clyde fans to act as the spearhead for this movement and to get it going for them. Why they have chosen to do it this way I do not know considering one of the main gripes with the current regime is a lack of communication with fans and an appearance of secrecy. I feel like it’s quite telling that there has been nothing out of their camp since the letter was put in. You would think that for something that has been in the works for so long there would have been a ready to go statement, a plan of what their vision is, who would be a part of the new board. I think judging by the reactions of some posters on here, the announcement of the extra funding from the donor alongside Duffy being shown the door was rather unexpected for them. Maybe this forced the hand a bit however for me that should have made them putting their vision across more important and at the forefront of the movement, right now it seems a bit like they are maybe scrambling around, but these could be because the people who are pulling the strings a bit aren’t the ones at the front spearheading this. It is no secret from my post history that I am all up for a change of leadership at the club. However for me there has to be solid, viable plans put forward. Give me something to make a choice on that I can buy into v the current board. Anything that can sway the Crownpoint decision or give the donor a reason to walk should at the moment be shelved or at the very least accounted for in a takeover or EGM. Finally I would like to point out that I hold absolutely 0 ill feelings towards the fans that have engaged with and signed the EGM letter and engaged with this movement, at the end of the day they are all passionate Clyde fans who want to see a thriving club and a on field product to be proud of. This is something that we all want, and it’s understandable to me how this situation has came about. I would hope that other Clyde fans would show them some kindness at this time when it would be easy/predictable to react in a different manner. For the next wee while until we know the result of the Crownpoint bid and can see how the donations are getting used, what happens in the dugout maybe a we need a bit of fan unity.
  15. I would imagine that the investment alongside Duffy leaving kind of forced their hands a wee bit in terms of trying to strike when the Iron was still smouldering. As I said previously it feels like a strange episode of Succession
  16. See to be fair they did say that they came on the thread because you messaged them on twitter.
  17. I think they are trying to split hairs/be facetious because the person rumoured to be behind it is a former Director and not a former Chairman. All in all this whole thing is like a bad episode of Succesion
  18. “ Abuse and name calling” Keep telling yourself whatever you need to hear bud.
  19. Lol is that it? 4 days for this? Always satisfying to see people resort to the classic “ figure it out yourself” or “ Do your own research” when challenged on their claims. For what it’s worth you and me are in agreement and on the same side of our opinions on the board, I just happen to think you are going about it in the completely wrong way. I can see just fine what’s going on and certainly don’t “ need my eyes opened” by anyone especially not a Walter Mitty. Hope you have a lovely evening
  20. I don’t get it because there is none. You are on here to try and spread as much ill feeling as possible. You seem to have a history having a go at volunteers of this club, and it’s not enough that the person in question has given up their position but now you are still gunning for them after they have left the club. Let it go. You have put out multiple claims incoming takeover bids shadowy figures that ACTUALLY control the board Feeding a narrative Duffy was the money man Saying there was no investor and alluding to the chairman making it all up. now it’s ex volunteers of the club out to somehow harm us because they have a position elsewhere You can’t back any of it up or wont. It’s all very tiring to read so good knows how you have the energy to consistently post it. Either put all your cards on the table or wrap it man
