I’m disappointed but still encouraged enough. Goals were shite to lose, probably highlighting work still needing to be done on Euan East in terms of defensive positioning etc. Think the end of the game highlights our need for an experienced head to sort us out and just see the game out. Disappointing to lose a deserved point. Encouraged enough that we done enough to warrant it, as I was a bit nervous. Goals 1+2 both similar, cross in too easily and a very clever Brian Graham peeling to our left onto east/Gibson. Moving forward we need to get Gibson back to his more natural right hand side and Debayo down left I guess.

Rae had little chance with any of the goals. Paton was pretty quiet on right expectedly but felt through middle was a problem for them. Nditi is a class act, McKay I actually thought was okay first half but second was all over the bit, East generally did okay bar the goals for me on first viewing anyway. Liked look of Chima when he came on, great build, looked decent on ball, bit of pace and couple of challenges in that time. Gibson his usual self although felt he started delaying too much at times. Debayo pretty anonymous when he came on but can be difficult. McGrory and Todd were neat and tidy enough, thought Cochrane followed suit when he came on. Connelly busy, but needed a bit more quality. Ruben was pretty quiet. Roy did okay but had to score that chance, if it’s against us the opposition put that away everytime.

Still think we’re just shy of a decent side. Another centre half, a winger/no.10 in mould of Jones and another striker.

Have said for a long time our loan signing will be crucial why we have not used any loans yet is a mystery to me .

You are spot on with what we need we must try and get it now not wait till it is too late .

We (yet again) need a no nonsense central defender who can organise things. As others have said our purple patch last season covered over the fact that for big chunks of the season we were pretty awful.

Have been saying this for weeks but some fans seem to thing you don't need experience in the centre of the defence just hope for the best with young players .

Thought we played well at times today. Schoolboy defending again our issue. We played extremely well keeping the ball on the deck against Airdrie and again today but there was to many long balls today. Ruben was not at the races and Paton was not in the game first half. Cochrane done okay when he came on. But for me far too many long balls at times especially when the new guys came in at the back. We are good on the deck so why punt it. Roy looked like the player they were all talking before he scored some goals. What about composure and time when Connelly shut the goalie down. Looking forward to the Killie game next week even although we lost today.

No good playing well at times scoring 2 good goals then defending like that .

Our defence should have been the first thing to get sorted not just at the last minute sign any defender available .

Have said we need experience height and a physical presence at the back until we get that we will struggle to win any game in the Championship

He’s been a revelation since he came back and no one gave him a chance. A pleasure to watch.

He was a pleasure to watch think left wing back on Saturday  got him even  more involved in the game coming inside on his right foot

Away from Wullie we must try and get experienced height and be more physical especially at centre back players of the build of a Ayo is what we need hopefully we can add that this week

As good as display at Palmerston as I've seen in a long time. Quick and dangerous going forward. Not giving Airdrie much time on the ball and relatively comfortable at the back. Airdrie got a well taken goal but I think if we hadn't made so many changes it wouldn't have happened so not too disappointed about it.

Delighted Junior got off the mark. I don't think he'll be a prolific goalscorer for us, more a creator but nonetheless the goal will be a great confidence booster.

The back 3 have done ok so far but we really need an experienced head back there to keep them right against tougher opposition.

5/6 more bodies and some luck with injuries and we should do ok this season.

Really good performance some of our passing and movement was really good .

Wullie Gibson best player on the park a joy to watch

My only worry is at the back we need experience height and a physical presence. We will not come up against a team as poor as Airdrie in the Championship .

  6. Good performance today but we will come up against much better than a poor Airdrie team .Willie Gibson best player on the park a joy to watch.

All positive going forward some of our passing and movement was really good . We  need height experience  and a physical presence at the back thought we lost the ball a lot in the air.

Dunn and East did fine but will come up against much better than they did today .

Hopefully add to the squad next week .

We’re a bigger club than Queens so it’s really not that strange tbqhwy.

Ayr and Queens are similar size clubs have much the same budget .

The likes of Dunfermline and Partick are bigger clubs .

Have heard we turned Maxwell down because we are close to a deal with Middlesbrough which will mean they will send us there best young players on loan hopefully Jones will be one of them .

We have accommodation all set up in Hamilton hopefully the deal will go through next week .

Alright lads, question about James Maxwell, can he play further up the field or on the right or is he only a left back?

We always played him at left back but he is really good going forward maybe could play left mid .

Needs to work on the defensive side of his game which he will.

Strange move going to Ayr some have said he was offered to us but we turned the loan down .

Hopefully AJ has better lined up but I doubt it

  9. Not looking like we are making any signings before Saturday.

All going to be at the last minute yet  we wonder why we always have a bad start to the League season.

You need to have a settled defence East and Dunn have done well but you can't get away with a make shift defence against the better teams as shown against Motherwell .

Hopefully AJ will update us in the press tomorrow on how close he is to new signing hopefully the quality he is waiting for is worth it .

Nothing. He's not going to play in Scotland this season.

Hearts are due a fee for Cochrane which no club will pay.

Away from that I can't believe AJ turned down Maxwell we will not get a better left back .

We have to hope AJ has signings lined up for this week I don't think so but time will tell .

    You are allowed loans.

Now that we are allowed loans surprised   about that   any idea how many.

Have missed you Skyline great to have you back.

On loans I hope AJ has some really good loans lined up if Maxwell and Breen are going to other Championship clubs

And why someone comes in clearly going against the confidence of someone somewhere within the club.

Look at me! I know things! You want a medal? One good thing about AJ, was that he kept a tight lid on his signings.

AJ does keep a very tight lid on signing we never have any idea if he close to signing anyone .

I think they were originally looking at October / November. It was fairly major surgery and the contract extension was intended to cover a rehab period and give him time to prove fitness again before making a decision on his future properly. He's nowhere near playing consideration at the moment certainly.

Skyline what are the rules this season with regards loans .

Paton up front. Would have gobbled them chances up.

Paton looked lost wide right thought he was a forward going to get us goals .

The new signing must somehow be better quality than we have just now.

Only way we can do that is loan signing it would be worth waiting on the likes of Maxwell and Jones think wishfull thinking on my part getting those 2 back

Names for Ballot for season ticket holders wishing to attend next week's game V Queens Park now being taken. (OS)

Also seems Kirk Broadfoot is linked with Inverness CT.

We will not get anywhere near what Inverness are offering Broadfoot .

He has the experience we need but he is  38 in August  surely his best years are long gone .

Yet to find a Killie fan who has a good word to say about him .

As was McGrory, who sat in front of back 4 and picked up a lot of the ball and pinged passes. Big centre forward will be quality and frustrating in equal measures. Decent few tricks but gave away a lot of fouls particularly first half. probably did better in second half when he played wide right. Full back was steady and appeared to grow into game but came off injured after 75. Centre half had a nightmare. Poor passing from back and general sloppiness. Gibson quality from left back, then centre

Never seen the game Broadfoot  not a trialist today .

  17. 13 hours ago, Fae_the_'briggs said:

He doesn't look that mobile in defence,  took his goal well but both goals have been a bit soft.

Broadfoot will be 37 in August so he will not mobile .

It is his experience we need with our young squad.

We will hopefully make a decision on our trialists this week but signing any trialist is a gamble really difficult to see after a few games if a player is good enough .

Our best hope is still to get loans in
