  1. I actually wouldn’t rest a lot of players for tomorrow nights game. Change goalkeeper, Mackie in for Mcann, and probably play Agyeman or Ross in for Morrison and/or Nesbitt. Ideally you would rest Spencer but Bisland won’t be eligible and with Oliver and McGinn injured Hendo and Spencer are our only two centre mids available. You could play Nesbitt in there if you really really wanted to. Firstly, the players have had a full weeks rest. Secondly, our next game after that is in a full weeks time. Finally, I would quite like us to have a go at Dundee Utd tbh, with the expectation they will rest some players. It’s the Scottish cup game next week that I would rest pretty much everyone. Due to the fact we have Montrose three days later and would be good to have a fresh squad for that.
  2. Doubt you’ll see Bisland since he’s on loan from Utd
  3. 3 pts is the main thing and all that. But Mcglynn got the team selection wrong today. Morrison obvs not fully fit and Nesbitt was just woeful. Thought it was harsh to drop Ross and Ageyman, yes we drew to Qos but the week before that we were different class. Don’t over complicate things please John and try to play players that aren’t fully fit x Hendo loves a yellow card this season dosent he suspended for the Montrose game - not ideal!
  4. I think Allan, lawal and McKay all have a very good chance of going out on loan come January. Assuming we keep Ethan Ross, I think we should strengthen the spine of the team - CB (cover) Cm and a striker.
  5. Brilliant result yesterday. Now onto Alloa next week. Hamilton have Montrose away so a real chance they could drop points and we could potentially go 5 points clear. Alloa always seems to be a team that on paper will be difficult to beat. However, we have a really good record against Alloa over the past 2 seasons. Played them 6 times. Winning 4 or 5? And drawing the rest. Please do correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think they’ve beaten us over the past 2 seasons. Coupled with the fact that we have put 4 past them twice, I think this will be a routine victory for us and hopefully come next Saturday we will indeed be 5 points clear.
  6. Agreed. I think it was the interview after the Hamilton game Mcglynn said something that gave me the feeling that he dosent really trust the subs but I think some of the fringe players (lawal, Bisland Allan) deserve much more of a chance than they are getting. Albeit it was a meaningless game I think we have more depth than maybe Mcglynn himself perhaps realises.
  7. He has remained relatively injury free since then. In first couple of seasons he always seemed to get an injury that would keep him out for at least a couple of months. I do wonder then if the rumours about him not passing a medical is true then. I suppose most clubs would still take the risk on a 2 year deal considering they wouldn’t have to pay a fee.
  8. I think Cal Morrison will be away regardless of what happens tbf. He’s been with us for 4 seasons now? He might just want a new challenge. He’s our highest earner and will want even more if we go up which the board and Mcglynn might not find feasible even in the championship. Coupled with the fact he’ll probably find a club that could offer him more anyway. I have no ill-feelings if he does decide to leave I just hope it’s not a pre contract agreement in January. He’s a very very good player but even his biggest fans would probably agree they’ll be question marks over whether he could do it in the championship. However, I have heard rumours in the past that he might not pass a medical at a different club - something to do with his knee I think?
  9. Assuming everyone is back next week. I would go for a front four of Morrison, Ageyman, miller and McIver. With Ageyman playing through the middle. Definitely our strongest attack. Miller had a few class touches when he came on and he’s certainly some player. Was quite impressed with Bisland tbh. Would feel very comfortable if through injuries and suspensions we had to play Yeats in the middle and Bisland at right back. Overall, very impressed with the performance could and should have been more.
  10. I agree about getting him signed up but I know from a very good source that he’s our highest paid player (no surprise really considering he’s signed two contract extensions since he’s been with us) and I don’t see the board committing to that sort of contract considering our financial difficulties and not knowing what league we will be in next season.
  11. Noticed at the end of the highlights the commentary stated that Calumn Morrison might be the best player in the division. He 100% is imo. Can anyone name a player in the division that is better?
  12. I think I’m also in this camp. Love the way we are playing right now but you are right there is also a part of me that feels that Airdrie defeat is unforgivable. Looking longer term - is Mcglynn the man to get us in the premiership? I don’t know is the honest answer. If pressed I would be inclined to say no. However, he had Raith looking really good, until he signed he who shall not be named. With a bigger budget and some things going our way he maybe could get us into the premiership. note - I know I’m getting far too ahead of myself just always nice to talk about these things on a football platform.
  13. Pearse Carroll signed for Blantyre the other day. A junior team I’m sure. Glad to see he’s still playing football wish nothing but the best of luck to the kid. Great prospect.
  14. I’ve been critical of Nesbitt but even before his goal I thought he had been terrific. What a finish. Agyeman makes such a difference and needs to start next week.
  15. This will be a tough game I think. For a couple of different reasons. Firstly, kelty were certainly a bogey team of ours last season. Kelty won 2, Falkirk won 1 and the other game was a 0-0 draw at the Falkirk stadium. However, it will be interesting (and almost a necessity that we don’t have any bogey teams this season) if Mcglynn can get one up on kelty this season. Secondly, we have injuries to key players. We are such a different team with miller and Agyeman and both will be sorely missed. Do we still have enough to beat kelty? I definitely think so but we do need to make sure we put a better performance in than last week. Otherwise we risk a draw or potentially even worse. I think Mcglynn will go with the same team as last week. However, I would love to see him try McIver and Allan. Even if it’s with McIver playing in behind the striker. I like Nesbitt but he dosent get close enough to the striker, dosent have any real pace to beat a man ( like Ageyman has) and drops too deep at times. I think Mciver and Allan would make us much more dangerous. I’m going for 1-1 draw or a 2-1 Falkirk. Morrison and/or Lang with the goals.
  16. Good result yesterday against a good queens team who will almost definitely finish third. Like others have said we really miss Ageyman and Miller. We just aren’t direct enough without them and yesterday had shadows of last season. With that being said I would be tempted to change it up next week. Maybe player McIver in the #10 role with Allan or Oliver up front? I know Ross played all across the front 4 in his county days and he would offer a suitable replacement for Agyeman in that role. I would still play Ethan ross next week he definitely just need some game time. I hope Mcglynn tries something a wee bit different for the next couple of games as I’m not 100% sure that starting 11 yesterday would beat Hamilton.
  17. Heard Ageyman is out for a few weeks and will most likely miss the Hamilton game. Need to wait and see what Mcglynn says in his interview tho.
  18. Yeah Miller and Aggie and both huge misses imo. Thought Ethan Ross has looked good tho. With our current injury list I think we will have to grind out some results over the next three games before we play Hamilton. Hopefully we can get a goal and I wouldn’t be too disappointed with a draw. Queens aren’t a bad team at all.
  19. Tbf nobody has said we needed two up top this season. Last year, yes, there were a fair few shouts for it. But now we have a striker than can actually play the lone striker role one up top is working perfectly.
  20. I do wonder if we had managed to stay in the premiership when hearts, Hibs and rangers were all in the championship what we could have achieved. Definitely consistent top 6 finishes and probably a shot at European football. I also wonder if we could have won a Scottish cup or even a cup double like St Johnstone did.
  21. I really really like Ola. Hope he breaks into the first team this season. Seen he is playing on the left tonight. Not seen much of him out wide tbh wonder if that could be his way into the starting 11.
