Fair bit of space Dunfermline are leaving in the middle of the park at times.

I don’t really mind the extra promotion/relegation tbh. It allows for a lot more movement and prevents the Nations League becoming stale, with everybody playing the same teams all the time - see also the regionalised League Cup groups. Just a pity it’s come into play as soon as we make it to League A.

Aye, definitely competent - likely won’t be brilliant but won’t be a disaster either. He’s a right back but has spent most of his time with us playing at wing back and it’s not a role he’s looked comfortable in or suited to playing. He’s done ok when covering as the right centre half of a back three, although I wouldn’t want him there long term. Confidence might be a bit of an issue. Seems to me like he’s a player that really needs an arm around the shoulder and I think he got the opposite from Steven MacLean, before then being binned by Levein with him training with the kids the last few weeks.

Last two games have probably been the best he’s played in that role but it takes so much away further up the park when we have him there. Hopefully it’s just out of necessity due to absentees and it’s not another manager thinking he should play there, although not moving him when Sprangler came on concerns me.

Their game in hand is, thankfully(?), at Ibrox, but 5 points isn’t insurmountable. There’s still 14 games left to play, and we’ve likely still got to play Ross County once and Livingston twice. Bonkers to be thinking Saturday’s win took us anywhere near out of it.

I think three years is a tad strong but I don’t think we handled things brilliantly. That third loan to Montrose particularly stands out.
