  1. There’s some pretty decent players who aren’t currently getting a start. The depth and quality of this squad may become a key factor in the next few months. Always room for improvements, but can’t see any great need at the moment.
  2. Just thinking back,,,, was it a very long time ago that the Sunny Dunny were anything other than top or sharing top position ,,,,,, Unique position or banal fact? probably both
  3. Don’t know if you’ve seen the match result - but it was certainly a very enjoyable trip. Actually next time I’ll go on the dromedary - won’t need to stop to fill up the water tank
  4. A midweek trip to Sauchie. Never the easiest of teams to play against at any time. Especially after their opening day defeat on Saturday. Can recall a couple of good goals the last time DUFC visited Bechwood Park. Hoping for similar once again. Fantastic service that every minute is recorded and available to the many fans who can’t make the journey. Good luck guys.
  5. And where does the weather warning for tomorrow factor in? Thanks I will have a nice Christmas, I’m pretty sure this conversation will reappear then.
  6. Only 165 days to wait until the worst day of the year in Edinburgh. Aye right.
  7. A very worthwhile trip up to Foresters Park, Tranent a few hours ago for little old DUFC. Notable performance in the second half which maybe rewarded Sunny Dunny with a very unexpected result. It was good to visit and see the new payers and talent that’s been amassed at TJFC. Good luck for the coming season to you guys at EH33. However the smiley supporters after 99 minutes were the ones with Black and White scarves. ️️️
  8. Aye, like a 10 week period either side of it
  9. Yes it does. But don’t really remember the weather stopping too many of my activities over the past 60 years. I’m pretty sure that Beast from the East was Feb/March. The worst snowfalls we have tend to be around late March/early April.
  10. Don’t really accept there’s a need to break with long standing tradition on this issue.
  11. Undoubtedly one of the stronger teams in the EoS. Very excellent setup both on and off field. A club that look to be well organised and going places.
  12. It’s a funny old game as the saying goes. From last seasons relegation of Newtongrange, Camelon, Whitehill and Dunbar that only DUFC managed to bounce straight back into the Premier League at the first attempt. Au revoir ,,,
  13. DUNBAR UNITED posting that Taylor Hendry has signed on at New Countess Park.
  14. Shaun Miller and Kerr Allan seem to be on the move from Dunbar to Preston.
  15. The availability of sound base data can only be a good thing for all concerned. Getting it isn’t easy. Surely the power brokers in the ivory tower see the benefit(s) but I have some doubts. This type of information could only facilitate the task of acquiring League/Cup Sponsors - something which apparently seems beyond them. However if clubs don’t text the match goal inf/time they then get fined by the EoS. So the paradox is that they fine clubs for not giving them data, but they actually do SFA with that data. I’m struggling to follow that logic.
  16. I wouldn’t worry about it - you’re just reporting the number that you’re fed. I doubt very much if the same person counting the crowd gets the exact same answer if it’s done again 5minutes later. I’d reckon that if you want to get to even 90% confidence limits - you’d need a fair bit of resource on the day. Random and activity sampling methods are based on having adequate resource. As you say in the earlier post - there’s not a lot of resource available - clubs have many priorities on match days and few persons to allocate the tasks.
  17. Hmm, trouble is the only factually reliable and indisputable data is the actual goals scored together with the relative times. As for the attendance information by some clubs - I certainly wouldn’t be quoting it as gospel. All you can do is compile the information you get. However having been at some of the games, I’m certainly not alone in being a little confused by some of the attendance numbers. Some clubs are quite accurate - fanbase and contactless payments must facilitate accuracy. Personal viewpoint only - it’s accurate attendance numbers that’s the driver of more investment from sponsors into clubs. It provides for the marketing strategy to factually based.
