... Quietly optimistic that this window passes without any significant departures.
Aye. We have to remember the source of where Linfield's interest came from. Like other "rumours", it could all be sh*te.

He’ll have other factors to consider but absolutely nothing wrong with living in Northern Ireland. Love going there.
It's also a short flight. I'm sure lots of Scottish based players who play or have played in Northern Ireland didn't live there Monday-to-Friday.

I'd hope Callumn would prefer to stay and finish the job. Selfishly for us and also because he's been on that clichéd journey with us and would be a fitting end IF it's to be his swansong.

We’ve signed Jaze Kabia, any good for you?
Jordan Allan really can't catch a break!

I really wouldn't want to presume that we're already in the final and planning for where it might be.
Let's get there first then worry about the choice of venue!

Actually he didn't. He signed for them though.
He was in the ghetto - close enough

Did he not get done with assaulting an Elvis impersonator or am I just making that up.
Was his defence he was caught in a trap.

And yet he never played for Livingston at any point in his career strangely. Was never the sharpest tool in the box but did manage to persuade sevco to pay him 6k a week to play in league 2.
For balance:
Stokes was a great player but by all accounts since is a questionable character ... and he did play for Livingston!

The media staff are not paid for matchdays, which can sometimes be 12 hour days for them.
The working practices here are mind boggling .
Genuinely making no judgement as this might be standard practice everywhere but an observation I'd have is the match day seems to be the bulk of intensive, time-sensitive work and theoretically where the most ROI is - stream, audio and replays - so why wouldn't you A) pay commensurate to recognise that B) put the most time and expertise into that "product".

I was responsible for highlights for many years until the end of 2020/21, the ones below were from the same camera that is still used today (the one that you recommend ahead of the Covid season) and I recorded and edited in 4k.
The quality is night and day to what they are producing now, the only reason I can presume is that they are editing from a copy of the live stream rather than by taking a recording directly from the camera - presumably to save time as replays will already be made for them.
Personally I would rather they spent an extra hour editing to get that quality or the quality @LeodhasXD produces for Alloa now as they are miles ahead of ours.
I did get my hopes up when I saw “high quality highlights” mentioned but sadly no change.
Thanks for the insight.
I appreciate that there is a rush to get the highlights out asap but wonder if there is a compromise - just put out the goals in the evening - and then publish the full highlights Sunday morning.
I think we'd all agree that quality over speed is what we really want as the outcome.

Whats our GD against Alloa this season?
If you are all too busy to answer, i'll happily wait for @LeodhasXD
Cannot wait for the crystal clear highlights .
Sorry @LeodhasXD!

That’s an interesting little tidbit, are any of the Carron Works still maintained for historical interest? That’s the kind of thing that’s flogged like a dead horse to tourists here in ‘Merica.
Unfortunately not
The main clock tower remains albeit in a parlous state. There is a display within the base of the Carronade cannon which CIW was famous for.
I think it's 'maintained' by a local group but even the newer buildings that were built where the original Carron works frontage was demolished have fallen into disrepair. The CIW site is used by various businesses so is privately held.1 -

For any history buffs, Rabbie Burns scribed a poem on a window at the Carron Iron Works. Was also visited by one of the founding fathers of the USA, Benjamin Franklin.
Not to mention when King George IV visited too. Not that I'm a monarchist but this was at a time when the royals didn't need to justify their status by opening libraries.

The town really has always been a bit of a dump, hasn’t it?
The '88 video captures a point in time when much of Scottish society was changing and as we see now, many towns and cities even now have seen much, much steeper decline than Falkirk.
However, bear in mind that prior to the 80's Falkirk could be considered an industrial powerhouse with lots of heavy industry - some of the remnants appear in the video - but globalisation and government put paid to much of it. Thinking of Falkirk now it's actually been quite robust for much of my lifetime and we should look proudly on the heritage we have sadly lost.

Involved is not just putting a little bit of cash in. The club needs that major share holding part of the stool to be much more active IMO.
Indeed.
Cash is always the root of whatever the club wants to improve but what skillset and experience/expertise is required and what goals outwith the obvious aim of promotions do posters think the club should be focussed on.
Open question to all just out of interest

@Dave McInally we can probably all agree there is a player there, he just doesn't work in this team.
A player like Ola will divide opinion everywhere - I've been a cheerleader for Nesbitt from day dot and you know how others feel and felt about him until fairly recently.
Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

Yet, after showcasing his talent when starting against Edinburgh and lastly scoring against Clyde on 19/11/22, he’s only started in 4 matches for us.
One shortly after in a 6-0 win vs Wick when he was subbed at Halftime, then at the end of the season when he scored and assisted vs Peterhead in a 3-1 win and the other two this season vs Ayr and Queens Park where he put in a good performance against teams a division above and won the penalty that seen us dispatch Queens Park 1-0.
Just seems unfair to go from a player who’s due more starts and want to see his contact extended to one people are happy to see leave.
Much of this for me.
Oliver, Allan; Ageyman and even McGinn to an extent afforded minutes when their previous outings hadn't been stellar or were playing through pain and yet we couldn't find minutes for a player who needed development as we all saw.
Regardless he's gone, we move on.

Thoughts on Ola then? His time with the Bairns is clearly over...
Hopefully not.
Definitely a player in there and sad to see him go as he's different to what we have but not consistent enough to start every week.

Don't think it will be as far down the pyramid as that but familiar surroundings might benefit him.
Think I may have called Allan's move last week

Shown like that it's actually cover for Donaldson where we're weakest as there isn't a natural right-sided CB as cover.
Henderson/Mackie could cover both McCann or Lang.

I don't suppose anyone has experience of hiring the stadium for a small meeting room and how much it is likely to cost? I'm looking at about 8 people, preferably on a Sunday morning over the next few weeks.
No experience but this might help:

He's a bang average player with an awful attitude every time he got subbed off he threw a meltdown.
Wish you lot would make your mind up!
One week Rankin is out of his depth and couldn't pick his nose and the next it's players with bad attitudes - who might disagree with said managers opinion - downing tools2
