  1. Mentioned this in a post on Wednesday. Miller retreats, Nesbitt and Telfer go through the motions but never really look like they want to win it back. All it needs is one of them to make the foul and stop the attack. By this stage I'm not even looking for a midfielder to win the ball but at least try and be a nasty b*stard to allow us to get organised for the set-piece farther from our goal.
  2. I'm not writing him off either but, for me, I expected more.
  3. 2 hours or 20 mins I've seen nothing that suggests he's going to start ripping up L1.
  4. @Bairnardo echos my view. If you demand the money he's on you have to back it up with more than we've seen so far.
  5. The contradictions of the arguments for LG are wild. Main one now being that service which has been poor ALL season will now somehow improve whilst not actually addressing why it's been poor. Um, ok. At the outset, Griffiths talent was meant to overcome any fitness deficiencies as it was L1 and yet two thumping free-kicks and a dragged shot with similar amounts of game time to Ompreon and Wilson in reality. Yet we've to give him a chance.
  6. So without addressing that issue, we hired Griffiths on that money to score us goals The argument made for exceeding the wage any other player gets was that he should be capable of making - and scoring - his own chances. None of which he looks likely to do in his current state.
  7. He's had the ball. To suggest otherwise is nonsense.
  8. Not often anyone agrees with @Shadwell Dog but I do concerning Griffith. It increasing looks like a mistake. He's gone from being described as someone who'd score for fun to someone who with better service would score for fun. As we have witnessed all season we are not a team renowned for providing that to strikers so unless he regains his sharpness against East Fife, for me, his signing was folly as he'll have same goal tally as Ompreon and Wilson at considerably more expense.
  9. I'll make a bold statement but Griffith's has to open his account against East Fife or he will go down as one of the biggest failures of anyone's recent reign yet.
  10. Dowds will go with many fans blessings now. Struggled at first, written off by his employers and doubted by fans; brought back to play a level below what he's capable of and has given his all. If only some others had shown his attitude after all that we might not be in the predicament were in.
  11. Inexperienced in Scottish football but a CV that trumps many. I think the Rennie situation has got to come to a head but it's the personnel not the formation at fault here. He can be criticised for the recruitment - along with others - but if your midfielders aren't prepared to run, harry and jockey then no formation will succeed. Evident at Peterheads goal the lack of dig and desire to win the ball back from Nesbitt, the original culprit with a loose pass; Telfer giving up the chase and Miller retreating which pretty much invited then onto the defence. It's not silky footballers we need but jobbers at least willing to do the dirty work.
  12. Having watched the interview like Sheerin, for me, Rennie is too passive. Rennie should be demanding a win and not simply looking forward to another mediocre performance in pursuit of getting players fit.
  13. What @RandomGuy. fails to see is that Rennie isn't a long term appointment so binning him now really has no bearing on whether we give him time or not. Persisting with him is admitting we're waiting for the season to end rather than planning longer term and getting someone committed to what obviously needs done. Not a single member of the 1st team staff, realistically, has any skin in the game. Rennie could be gone of his own accord and the loan players, Griffith's and Hetheringtons etc who have shown nothing under two managers will all be gone as well. The harsh reality is Falkirk are in no-mans land now under Rennies continuing tenure and even if the board and he came to agreement recent displays suggest he's no closer to improving us.
  14. Not a hope in hell Jack Ross is coming to us when he's just knocked back returning to St. Mirren, who from the outside, are a club on the up.
  15. Has been mentioned earlier but when was the last time we looked like the home team? Dowds the only player, for me, who gets pass marks this evening. Everywhere else on the pitch I witnessed Williamson and Telfer shite-ing out of challenges or panicked clearances under little pressure. Jacobs at the death summed this team up for me: On his own in Peterhead corner with *3* Peterhead players chasing him down and every other Falkirk player retreating back to our half. The lot of them can go.
  16. So, so poor. It's fair to say come the end of this season we're in no better position than when we started. Yet more turnover of players, a new management team and another season battling in L1 with a part-time squad. Rennie and the club have had time to suss each other and both parties should realistically be looking at alternatives now. Tonight should also put to bed that Dixon is some sort of defensive rock beside the others. He and Miller are done and even their passable performances are behind them. Whoever we appoint needs to change the culture as whatever is in place now has seeped into the fabric of the TFS and is rotting everyone who passes into the team.
  17. Will be interesting tomorrow to see what's changes, if any, are implemented from Saturday. It was said a few weeks ago when Watson signed that defending starts from the front and yet our backline appears as exposed as ever. As we can all see that means the midfield isn't doing it's job and that needs rectified. Peterhead are fighting for their survival and our midfielders will need to break up their possession and snuff out the hope they will come with. It's evident we need to work harder out of possession as Saturdays poorly conceded goals show. If MR doesn't know or realise his best team by now he and the BoD need to clarify the intention for next season managerially as to me, the players and manager no longer have "skin in the game" and our season ends in a whimper.
  18. Flung his arm out at said Cove player dragging him away from the melee. As for Kabia being fouled, goalkeepers once again proving a protected species when in any other part of the pitch a player would be booked for jumping over the top of another.
  19. This pic from Paul Sheerin's Aberdeen care-taker spell foreshadowing what was to come...
  20. The vlog highlights the issues provincial clubs in Scotland face. I can't imagine supporting another team and imagine it's only representative of the age group he spoke to on the night esp. the Falkirk lads in it. As for the "controversy" , it's indicative of footballs tribal nature and fans will use anything to put players off, even if it's untrue - Take Akinfenwa chant a few weeks ago as an example. A decent and humorous watch but clickbait none the less.
  21. My reaction to signing Griffiths now reminds me of when we got Latapy. I thought he was done and the baggage wasn't worth it and look how that turned out! Just to be clear - I'm not comparing them as players - just my view at the time of hearing of their signings for Falkirk.
  22. Aye. Mine was meant tongue-in-cheek to be honest.
