Always next quarter

Decent enough effort all round, learned very little which is in its own way a success as no one went off script. I've attended many a Q and A over the years and a group of these have been time I will never get back. This fell North of that. Would have preferred if it was a seperate football and operations session. The group are willing to engage so that's the most important take away.

Trying to be half full on this one. Every break has gone to Airdrie when we played them, coupled with their dominance it's been 1 way traffic. Just trying to find something to help me sleep pre play off games. Wonder if a bit less pressure could now fire us up again for what looks like a play off stint? Ashcroft was the key signing and it went pear shaped. Surely it's Watson and Murray till the end of the season. Full backs need an upgrade for next season. A couple of wider points, the exodus from the South Stand should be a worry for the board. Hope the numbers continue to show up. Also wonder why facebook doesn't get the interviews when we get beat, maybe damage limitation with comments. TBH our social media is unreadable with negative supporters and opposition fans seeking retribution. Definetly reaping what we sowed. Finally fair play Airdrie, but can we not just go back to you lot being a despicable bunch of hammer throwers.

Bit of smoke and mirrors here as through an Ian M filter it paints a picture of Airdrie being a bogey team. Rovers still doing well accross the fixtures. Said many times McCabe gets the very best out of his players. Could he step up and build a team? Time will tell as he must have his admirers.

Huge respect for McCabe and Airdrie as a whole this season. However 3-4 times the budget, that's an utterly wild suggestion.

Played the game back today while papering the living room. Didn't realise how bad the wind was from my seat. Not sure there was a benefit to either team, to be honest. Came away thinking really professional job, some great interplay in the first 20. Fair play to Kev, I had my eyes covered everytime the ball went his way and he done a consistently good job. Mathews isn't doing himself any harm. Funny how we get blinkered on guys we like, hope he stays. The media folk have loads of cameras so if there isn't a full replay of the kids half time activity heads should roll. Saw the commentary comments so had it on. It was a bit bland like other clubs but the comment re "can't string a sentence together" is unfair. The full match replay is a great freebie. Steady 3000+ after the United game is a great sign. Thought even at 1-1 the crowd stuck with the team. Unfortunately caught part of the cameraman fall as I was looking that way. Glad to hear he got good treatment. First aiders were there really quick. Didn't know the club medic was involved also great support. Lots of positives though Tuesday gives me the fear. Hope it's Ayr that trip up United, despite our rivalry in the past they are a far more likeable bunch than ICT. Walked to the bus station chatting to an Ayr supporter and his lads, sound as you get post a defeat. No idea why Logan Chalmers treds water in his career. Must drive home singing "can I play you every week" when he faces us.

Really important win in really poor conditions. Kind of win that I don't always expect us to get. In fact accross the season these are the types of points we have dropped. Half-time kids activity the absolute high point. Hearing about the photographers' injury, the absolute low point.

Been to a few of these, nice to have a blether with players. £80 seems way more expensive than previous years. Pricing suggests they are targeting a different group of attendees. Can't keep giving it the cash is tight for fans line them hike the price here. Pity the price cuts me and my laddie out out but like Stevo posts one man's rip-off is another's good deal. Sure it will sell well and will be a good night.

The Police angle is the one that should be bringing fans together. Football supporters already get poor treatment and guff like 6 empty rows plays into a narrative that such actions are fine. If you are worried about folk on the pitch do your job. Old firm, Edinburgh, Fife, Dundee derby all manage without the mysterious 6 rows away fan only rule. Seriously fans should be pulling together here as its us who get locked out. A giggle for united fans to some degree but what goes around comes around. I got 4 tickets by total fluke on the first release but the folk I know who didn't are good folk who just want to watch their team.

Excellent post, its supporters who get caught in the crossfire. Just back from the Spar and the boy that served me explained he didn't get tickets for himself and 2 grandchildren. Takes them every away game with a carer for one of the lads. That's the collateral damage and that's what makes the whole fiasco a race to the bottom.

Perception is all that matters, Unlike Ferguson I have watched every interview and there isn't smoke never mind fire. Sure post match from previous games have heat of the moment comments but hardly targeted criticism. Just watch the Ayr post match with manager and player both of whom show respect to Morton. All that's irrelevant though, Imrie shows himself as needing that chip on the shoulder. No loss in 15 so it works for them. The Morton forum match preview is interesting, while it's full of wild comments and seethe. It shows how we are perceived.

What a night and what a goal. Like many I'm treating every win as its own event and if we are in it at the end great stuff. Still feel we will be too inconsistent V the teams around us. Was just going to post that too, I want to hear the managers take and indeed anything available on that performance. Ended up next to the "choir" last night and thought it would break me for 90 minutes. Left smiling at kids getting exactly what a great football team should be giving them. What a laugh it is watching Rovers.

Lots of sense there but that UJ flag has been associated with more negative stuff and the club should (if they can) try to keep it away. The easy issue at home games is to say it can't be placed on a walkway or place something else in its position. The new board don't strike me as daft so I'm sure they have sought advice. It's utter garbage to have anything of this nature near us. What annoys is the fact the folk with the flag know they are placing their views above the values of the club. What next the tricolour Rovers and a wee rammy in the concourse. I loathe the UJ being linked with Rovers but have to suck it up. This one has gone beyond and ties the club into discussion elsewhere as having a different value base to the one I see them creating.

I think it will be Brown in midfield and Corr/new lad. Would probably prefer the option of Brown remaining with Oreilly and Stanton/Easton central. That aside fair play to the club for trying to drum up interest with what seems like constant emails. I'm just completely Meh about the fixture. Pub it is and in figuring out why I'm not that excited its either the 4th derby of 6 that doesnt inspire, ticket price isnt great but on reflection not crazy or because we're facing big league based opps. Disappointed about the away strips as it's a missed opp. Doesnt sound like the clubs fault but christmas kits need to be sent to santa as a "pre-order" voucher doesn't cut it. Expect to end up in JD sports Hell giving into PSG type guff instead. Have Rovers ever done Christmas jumpers?

Interesting to read TX description of price setting, didn't know that. Yeah £20 is more a missed opp in the cup tie, I note I might go but a bit cheaper and I would have taken my auld man and maybe 1 of the kids. I'm pretty committed to attending games but many are going to be happier in front of the telly. Pricing could have been more tempting. Just easier to walk down to Novar, home 20 mins after the match and catch up with pals who don't go to the game. As noted my biggest gripe is the challenge cup game which is nonsense but TX may have solved that puzzle. Some offer from Hamilton post cup games reducing costs at Christmas. Tough one for us to match unless we get a plum cup tie (if successful V Pars)

There is a theme of understandably trying to get every penny for club investment. However opps like the Challenge cup and derby 4 of 6 on TV have me a bit ill at ease with the balance tipping towards screwing every penny that can be got from fans. The challenge cup especially is just silly and will surely bite the crowd size £16 and £6 under 18s for Falkirk v United is the tipping point. Maybe I'm just annoyed at not being able to afford to attend. Swithering over the Pars game, would probably push the £20 but the TV game makes it hugely tempting to just go to the Novar.

Just went to buy tickets for Friday then didn't. £20 adult and £10 kids!! Simply cant spend £80 on challenge cup tickets with a run of away games coming up. Had hoped for maybe £12 and £8, bairn got offered free tickets to Pars game at his club tonight...won't be there either

That makes sense, good angle. Walked from the bus station with 2 Airdrie fans who said similar. We were all of an age to remember the 80s and 90s matches. Re the flag, a point I missed was that of a St George's flag, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest in fact shows we've got pockets of support that grew from folk becoming pals. Was chatting to Sunderland supporters in the 200 club who came due to Ian Porterfield. They were having a braw time as it should be.

No interest in politics between 3 and 5pm and this particular flag brings its own wee agenda. Appears against an Irish team, remembrance game and for good measure a bit of buddying with our local unionist terror supporter. Does the name of the club no favours in the context its being used. Some folk just like to provoke so fair play. My negative side feels we are just a bit off the place we aspire to be. Beyond injuries we need an extra defensive body. I'm sure JP is looking for the loan deal version of Shaun Byrne. Finally Airdrie can GTF with their actually quite likeable, decent banter, good football. It's not natural.

National Cup and its £3500 for a TV game, £6,500 for a third round exit! That's absolutely amazing to me. Wonder what the English equivalent is?

Stinking draw, 6 derbies in a season kills the edge. Big chance for Pars to see this as revenge for the last cup tie etc and for Rovers to turn the screw. Would have rathered avoid each other. Still it will keep Fife police in overtime.

The Pars players missing are certainly quality. For most along the road the fact that Rovers are missing: Jack Hamilton, Jamie Gullan, Ross Mathews, Dylan Corr, Keith Watson and a fully fit Dylan Easton is outweighed by their value. Not sure I buy that.

Really looking forward to this, confident united will pull away in the league but for now were a handful. Our defensive choices will likely define our potential success. Never a fan of the crowd size as a metric of value. Having said that decent effort by the board. Extra cash is grand but releasing seats for supporters to get in is more important. See Hamilton back as a lone 9 maybe with Hammer or Vaughan in behind.

Maybe not the best example as it was I think 34 games Caley were undefeated. That's a notable run. Coupons burst on it now.

Really excited for this, just bought tickets for 4 pals who drift in and out of going to games. Back from holiday Monday and buzzing to get back to Starks. Arranged a work swap to do a Sunday for no extra overtime just to make the game. Hope to see Watson back but Brown is capable as we saw yesterday. Hard to tell from pics so how sharp was Vaughan yesterday. Comms notes some great touches. Assuming Connolly isn't quite match fit yet. Any news there?
