Agreed. I probably never phrased it right. I believe in his book he wrote that through his friendship with Emlyn Hughes and Bob Paisley his betting took on a whole different level as they had “contacts” plus the increased wages led to increased bets and subsequent losses. Unless you can control you gambling it’s a terrible addiction.

I think Frank made a massive mistake in not staying at Liverpool. IIRC it was Bob Paisley who got Frank interested in horse racing and betting which was a downfall for him and his marriage.
