Ian McShane on his way? Or more crap rumours?
I think you will see EK doing a bit more transfer trading if things continue to go the way they are going, in terms of readying themselves for the play-offs. So it would be no surprise to see them sign players from higher up the food chain in preparation.

Could do worse than David Proctor from Cumbernauld Colts, done a great job (2nd in league) on a very limited budget.

Cumbernauld have a club doctor that attends all home and away games?
They have a bronze license, so yes.

Cumbernauld Colts beating Clyde in a play-off would be hilarious.
Only LL team to have the requisite Bronze license.

And one more relegation place, eh?
Don’t need anymore than that if Beith win the league again.

Would be surprised if it was as high as that. They offered Mark Stowe £300 a week when they tried to sign him in the summer.
Prepare to be surprised then.

5k a week at that level is absolutely mindboggling. Really can't see that.
Absolutely no chance they are paying anyone that, I would imagine the average is somewhere between £500-£1000.

They must have raked in £50/60k this season from transfer fees from EK alone.

And its a stance that requires querying if there's a desire to expand to 18.
Originally the argument was around getting the season completed in time for the play-off. Introduction of floodlights to licencing resolved those concerns.
This is now the 3rd season with at least 18 teams. Scheduling isn't an issue. The SFA handling the discipline isn't an issue. Availability of match officials isn't an issue.
It’s the SFA we are dealing with, they make it up as they go along. The reality is that they don’t want anymore clubs applying for their license, and by approving an 18 team league their worry will be that it may encourage clubs further down the pyramid to do so.
That’s my conspiracy theory for the day

Who knows.
My guess - and its a complete guess - is the SFA will push the LL to retain two B teams given their crackpot Conference plan was binned.
In which case, the LL should push for a permanent 18 team league to mirror the HL and increase the relegation spots as a result to at least two, try and turn it into a positive. Plus if two B teams remain, they should be eligible for relegation to tier 6 like any other team. If either Celtic or Hearts withdraw in the future, they're replaced by an extra team from tier 6. Any future B teams enter at the lowest level of the Pyramid in their area.
The SFA have reused to allow the LL to go to 18 teams on a permanent basis, 16 is the limit.

Somewhat amazingly, Perthshire are saying their game is on, not sure if that will be the same come 2pm

Hearing there's an inspection tomorrow at Berwick for the game against ek
It might have a chance, as worst of rain is in central belt, where we will be lucky to see any football played on grass.

Could be a few games In doubt if the forecast rain arrives.

The size of the squad is not the issue. The point is how many players can you put out on any given day. We have have 2 starters out with long term injuries, another 4 with medium term and 4 playing from game to game. Doesn't take Einstein to do the maths. Add in the normal bumps and scrapes and our availability is well compromised.
Yes we are fortunate that we can bring in players, no apology for that, should we simply whinge and not ?
Could you not utilise the 20’s squad, who are doing well at the minute?

Going as predicted, EK or Tranent will win it, out with the bottom 2, every other team is capable of beating each other.

It was a bit cringy to watch a grown man behave like a 5 year old. The Ref obviously heard some shouts and twice ticked off their manager. I’m not sure but I think I read the Ref can send off the manager if he can’t identify the culprit.
You are correct, it’s the head coach who is sanctioned in that scenario.

Well that was a strange day !
Flat performance with a flat crowd with next to zero away fans. Didn’t look like the same players as last week.
Only moment of interest was watching Darren Dod’s hiding behind the dugout in the second half and shouting abuse at the Ref and Lino .
A Saturday to forget, on to next week.I have seen Dods do that a few times at various games, particularly at Broadwood, pretty embarrassing to be honest.

I feel as though the team are in the verge of stringing some results together, just need a bit of fortune, and dare I say it, a bit of experience.

Thoughts on Gala Fairydean Rovers?
Got them in the next round of the cup and fancy us to beat them though have no real reference for the quality in the Lowland League aside from the game on TV last night and a pre-season friendly with Bo'Ness.
Underrated team, probably a 50/50 call who wins.

Aye, EK are really in need of more players right enough.
I think they have a few injuries, MK mentioned it in his interview after the Linlithgow game.

Like him or loathe him, I believe JG had the best of intentions, but he somehow managed to alienate , and rub a lot of people up the wrong way.
