  1. 100% - given where we were and how we were playing and set up I did not see this coming. So it is nice. Very nice. The Rangers win with some other results going our way makes the last 4 games before the split very interesting. Both Dundee and Hibs need to play Rangers in their last 4 and then we play them both in our final 2 pre split games
  2. Ta, for someone who's opted out of social media by in large now this is a good shout. Updated my details.
  3. Catching up on the Theo video. I very much think people are over analysing it. Ironic given the content, ha. It's 100% a spotlight on the good work we've done as a club on a player who was widely derided as having no chance. Shines the spotlight on him and shows the current setup can get the best out a player. All good. I'd wager most folk, the vast majority, will just shrug at the title of the video and watch it.
  4. Have to say, none of my early channel 5 memories involve football.
  5. I keep seeing 2025 and forgetting it's next year. I mean it feels like the proper future to me
  6. Yeah definitely. To be perfectly honest, through a combination forgetfulness, laziness, lack of interest and having a small child I've completely lost track of who does what and what feeds into what and what does not between the The Club, The Well Society and The Community Trust. If someone could do me a venn diagram that would be brilliant? If I was to think about it, since the well society got majority ownership and had seats on the club board I've always thought basically the well society could push through whatever they wanted essentially (i.e. if we kidded on the well society were a foreign investor tyrant for a minute) but the WS haven't and we've essentially been owners but let 'the club' and it's employees do things with occasional WS input? Is that about right?
  7. What a day that was. I sit in the tranquil main stand and ended up about 4 rows in front of me when we scored the winking goal. Embracing a guy I'd hated for about 5 years due to his horrible takes and shouts. One of the big lads they focussed on in the south stand who was crying after full time was in my team at work as well. Delighted Early 20s I was then. Take me back. Take me back.
  8. I keep coming back here and just thinking - that's fucking great int it. Lovely stuff.
  9. Haha. Mental, isn't it. Literally over half my lifetime ago, never thought about that. 3rd at high school I was in 97.
  10. Today was one of those days where we played brilliantly a d got what we deserved including not being punished for every daft mistake. Same as Mugabi above, SOD himself was the one who ridiculously lost his man and it took a Kelly save from about 2 yards out to bail him out. That's not a criticism really, he was brilliant today (and I'm not a great fan) but we just don't seem to have got off with many like that this season.
  11. YAS. UP THEM. Scored 2, hit the bar and had another couple of great chances we score another day. Also cleared a couple off the line to be fair. But that was so well deserved. Add a million on to your bid the lads from EK
  12. No pace in the wingbacks position today for us due to Devine being unavailable and Gent not fit. So I'd expect more of a flat back 5 a lot of the time. If Rangers cut off Spittal's runs and Miller's passes we will struggle to attack...let's see how it goes. Vale's pace could be key.
  13. Yeah I did get the reference - if it was fully tongue in cheek and not a sideways dig then fair dos @thisGRAEME
  14. Pretty dismissive unnecessarily I'd say. I've never heard either but the last thing we need is the wealth off the radar chaps knocking at the door I'd argue.
  15. This absolutely nails it for me @Vietnam91 I get what you mean @Busta Nut but nothing has happened yet. I'll die on this hill that we should speak to people and see what they have to say - nothing is binding. I voted to consider losing majority stake but I'm miles off accepting that in a binding vote. For me, the WS need to see this vote result as a second warning shot (the first being that the video created real interest) and use it as a further catalyst to up their great recent efforts and engagement. The vote was 1000 odd people which is not a small number and it should be taken seriously as a real indicator of mood. Next home game is two weeks away - I'd hope to see the WS out in force in the stands, the Cooper, the hospitality suites letting people know what they are doing and what they are building. Bold WS banners up to make it clear who they are. @JayMFC could the WS use the advertising space around the stadium for example that's out of date? I mean there's adverts in the main stand men's bogs that have out of date Joe Efford kit sponsorship on them. Email and social media is fine but there's a whole world out there who are not regular users and/or not even WS members that could be used to galvanise and boost nay future votes binding or not.
  16. Yeah, I get that, but it's part and parcel with these types of things (i.e. Business sales/investment) a lot of the time. Very hard to keep things like that watertight. Especially essentially small business like ourselves.
  17. Wouldn't be so down on it. Leaking could also be a tactical move the other way. At the moment we've no local business type bids we know about. Just foreign investment which no one really trusts. Now, suddenly we've got knowledge of a local potential bid for investment just after a vote result comes of the WS? Im sure a sizeable chunk of fans who don't want foreign majority stakeholder are suddenly interested In regards the vote, into the same vein of wanting investment bids, the WS vote goes the other way and it probably empties the two candidates who want a majority, perhaps clears a path perhaps for a non majority local bid. Good for those who want It. Bad for those who want as many investment options as possible. It goes the way it has and we have competitive tension in the bidding process. Which is a good thing.
  18. Spot on. Don't think it's that. I am non paying technically I guess. Paid the lump at the start when that was what the deal was, not been a regular monthly contributor for a good while now.
  19. Can't really talk for the socials but at games, where I sit certainly, SOD and Shaw get constant abuse and I don't really hear much to anyone else
  20. Surprised at that but I do think it's right course of action personally. See what interested parties have to say then have a proper binding vote.
  21. It's not an easy decision at all the centre backs. Which is odd considering how murder they've all been together for most of the season. That's the absolute key Kettlewell has to figure out. It might mean one or two go who maybe we'd rather keep but if it makes the collective better then such is football. How Kettlewell does all that and makes sure he doesn't end up with worse...I'm glad it's not me.
  22. That's it for me too basically. It's kind of odd in that when you take each defender in isolation they do have their plus points - so it's more about their negatives and how big and bad they are + how they are as a unit (Spoiler on the latter : Bad) I'd keep McGinn as he's versatile and consistent, and I think Casey and Blaney too as they are under contract til 25 and I do think playing beneath their potential. Butcher is done, sadly I think, at this level and I was one calling for his return to the middle. That's another thing I've changed my mind on. Sorry in advance about that. Haha. SOD just isn't good enough in general enough nowadays and McGinn is a better version of him for me. Mugabi's negatives outweigh his positives imo. He's clumsy, lacks positional awarenesses, makes absolute howlers, often can't kick the ball where he wants it and takes so long to get up to speed every season. I do agree with you @Antiochas III in that currently he's probably our best bet at central defence til we find someone else but I wouldn't keep him for that reason. For what it's worth I could see Kettlewell re-signing Mugabi, SOD and McGinn. Letting Butcher go and mutualling Blaney back to Ireland (mainly due to being injury prone) while he looks for two first choice centre halfs and a few wingbacks
