Alright, so I want to have a chat here about Shaun Byrne do you think you guys will call him back in January or not? Because I’ve seen on some socials that at least 5 will be a head of him if he was to be recalled and is he defo out of contract end of the season?

We’ve asked Santa (aka mr potter, Murray and Barrowman) for a great Xmas gift and that would be a Shaun Byrne 2 year deal

Someone came into our thread earlier and said McGill has been linked with us (probably bullshit) but I don’t see where he gets in that front 3/5 I think it would be a waste of cash imo we need more an attacking full back or a CM if Byrne goes back to Dundee I can’t see it being a forward

What’s your thoughts on the possible contract renewals part are you on the side of more belief most of the players mentioned sign new deals or still on the caution side?

So with the January window coming up what do you think we will do? Obviously there will be your usual rumours but does anyone think we will sign 1/2 players or just mainly focus on extensions? (Know you can sign an extension at anytime) but I think maybe 1/2 might be announced then imo

Tbf I wouldn’t worry about him liking social media posts he said he likes everything that he’s either mentioned or tagged in, happened with us/pars/falkirk and a few other clubs before I wouldn’t read too much into it. and in the high earner bracket he should be, as I’ve said previously give him what Ethan Ross was reportedly one of if not our highest earner… and with this season being played 3 good cup runs/ Dundee United attendance/ the pars and partick and all the revenue made so far we can probably make a lot better offers to players than we could previously.

Even though it is a concern I’m still optimistic Easton will sign a new deal look at it last season with Connolly everyone was certain he was away in the summer but signed a 3 year deal (2 but a automatic extension if appearances reaches target) I know money talks most of the time but I’m sure Connolly would’ve had better offers than us surely? Ethan Ross seems certain to be away in the summer and probably signs for Falkirk permanently, so that’s a rumoured big wage off the wage bill we could always give majority of it to Dylan Easton over a 2/3 year period. If anyone in this squad that is likely to leave it’s Sam Stanton and probably ends up at like a st Johnstone or somewhere like that

He could move down south if that were to happen I’m sure you can only play for 2 clubs in a season from the same country

Did we see Dylan Easton put on a show at tannadice? Yes we did!!!!!! I’m buzzing with that, but that last 30 mins though seemed to of lasted like a week

There’s definitely something different about this squad this season Hank, in previous seasons a lot of games we won we would’ve crumbled in and lost but this “we never stop” attitude we have as a former Celtic manager would say is class from the squad going into games thinking I’m not worried if we go 1-0 down or they equalise. becasue we know this squad has something different about them you feel more confident we’re gonna win the game then lose it. but I am buzzing for today we just have to focus on us and if Dundee United are missing players so be it

If they want to get the necessary quality in to push them on for the title they kinda have too, especially in the striker department as Moult has an injury history, Watt isn’t a prolific goalscorer…. Caveat to that we may also need 1 maybe 2 in depends on the Shaun Byrne situation and what positions we need

Doc and Watt missing for you would be massive for us in terms of midfield battles and creativity and who ever the player is… got a strong enough bench to change anything if it goes wrong?

Maybe he sticks with brown a CH Brings Murray back in and maybe push O’Reilly out to the left if dick isn’t ready and McGill at right back or we could go to a back 3 again with Murray coming In for Millen

Also a Benedictus new Contract, plus throw in Jakubiak who could be on a decent wage as well

I’d like to apologise to @TxRover for the Ross Millen at CB shout, I thought it was absolutely wild but turned out it was the right decision and he played very well in the right side of a 3

I think people (me included) thinks this is the best time to get a game because let’s be real when Murray and Byrne returns Murray will slot into CH next to O’Reilly and Brown will go back into midfield and if he doesn’t play tonight when is the next time is he realistically gonna play?

He has to go with Corr and O’Reilly imo there’s literally no one else because brown has to play in sole MF position again there’s no one else that knows/does what a specialist in that position does… O’Reilly does have experience Dick, Millen and Brown in front of him communicating, none of this square pegs round holes pish like this guy could fill in here and there just play them in a natural position…. Like when have you ever seen Mullin play at FB? When have you ever seen Millen play at CB apart from a 3 where it was forced? Like literally doesn’t make sense at all plus he’s not great in the air and sometimes caught sleeping and could be got at defensively

read a piece in the courier that was published a few mins ago on twitter by Craig cairns with the contract extension frame…. It said Masson picked up an injury during the game then I was watching that oh no no no podcast and I think John Greer said he was talking to McGill and he said he was wearing a protective boot (could just be a precaution) so the O’Reilly signing makes sense

He was playing for Hamilton last year unless he meant Hamilton were the pub side?

As long as he can defend his box well and can defend in 1 on 1 situations and put his body on the line that will do for me

There’s something called negotiations and may take a pay cut as the likes of Euan Murray and Keith Watson could well of done after undoubtedly being on more money before signing for us

We could sign Byrne in January on a PCA and won’t have to pay a penny

Let’s be real IM hasn’t got trust in Masson or he’d be playing a lot more and it says a lot that a midfielder is starting in CB a head of him, Watson has past injury issues and at his age will take longer to get back…. Corr good the lad has potential, Murray has been great since coming back and we don’t need Brown to cover we need a proper CH/Defender the only one that can “cover” is Dick but then who goes in at LB who’s a natural defender full back?

If Watson is out for another 4-6 weeks the Positive is Corr is back so that’s another Natural CH back in the frame and still has experience next to him in Murray and Millen. but we have to go into the market in January for a CH or a Versatile defender even if it’s a loan and Brown goes back into midfield
