There’s something called negotiations and may take a pay cut as the likes of Euan Murray and Keith Watson could well of done after undoubtedly being on more money before signing for us

We could sign Byrne in January on a PCA and won’t have to pay a penny

Let’s be real IM hasn’t got trust in Masson or he’d be playing a lot more and it says a lot that a midfielder is starting in CB a head of him, Watson has past injury issues and at his age will take longer to get back…. Corr good the lad has potential, Murray has been great since coming back and we don’t need Brown to cover we need a proper CH/Defender the only one that can “cover” is Dick but then who goes in at LB who’s a natural defender full back?

If Watson is out for another 4-6 weeks the Positive is Corr is back so that’s another Natural CH back in the frame and still has experience next to him in Murray and Millen. but we have to go into the market in January for a CH or a Versatile defender even if it’s a loan and Brown goes back into midfield

Their 2nd goal was absolutely criminal from our part Paton was unmarked in the box the only guy Thomas could aim for realistically and no one picks him up….. but the keeper could’ve been more confident and came out n claimed it he hesitated and he got megged. but the ball for Hamiltons goal was good but you’re right he totally lost fox and had a free header at goal

I thought big Kev was outstanding the day made 2/3 top drawer saves, thought the whole team done well but the 2/3 standouts for me was Brown/Byrne and Easton… was disappointed no to see Hamilton through injury because that last 20/25 mins was screaming out for him and as much as I like Gullan he’s no a No9 he just gets into positions that wingers/AMs take and is never actually in the box I think he’s better out wide. that being said a draw was a fair result and they didn’t look spectacular they are their to be got at

Against Quick and Skillful players he does struggle a bit but I thought he done fine but again it’s the same old thing that is killing us not defending balls into the box/ it’s not like teams are cutting us open at will

Tbf there’s nothing he could’ve done with the 2 goals (same with Thomson and MacDonald wouldn’t of saved them) one was a bullet header and the other was pish defending in the box apart from that they never really threatened aye his kickings no the best but that could be worked

Well said we can’t risk by having only one right back nonsense incase if Millen gets injured again (none of this Masson could play their pish, if that was the case then the gaffer would be playing him over a MF) we do need another DM as we don’t know how Matthews or brown will be coming back ( a Shaun Byrne would be great) we need options and a bench with quality so bringing in at least another 2 will give us that….. but a great comeback from 2-0 down at a tough place like firhill and get a point it was looking like they were taking all 3

Imo I hope we see a loan signing soon as the longer we wait we might not get the quality required to either help improve/add to the quality we’ve already got look at partick for example made 3 very good loan signings so far I know we’ve got until the end of September but I feel like get them in and upto speed with the system sooner than later (don’t want to see another Akio, Goncalves situations tbh where they were beyond hopeless)

Shame about Matthews rehab taking longer than expect I really think when fully fit would be a important player for us this season

Aye true that, I think it’ll probably come down to the 2 of us tbh as I’m sure he’s still living in fife and he wouldn’t have to travel far for training as you say just have to wait how this pans out

any idea what’s happening with Shaun Byrne? There’s been a few rumours (that’s all they are) that we’re interested in signing him

If the rumours of Shaun Byrne is true about us wanting him in then I’ll be happy with that, experienced player that’s played higher level/ and won this league before adds extra quality to the midfield…. He’s not played for Dundee in a few weeks plus he wasn’t involved in their B side yesterday he interesting how it plays out if true of course

I did notice Byrne didn’t play for Dundee B either last night and theirs been rumours circulating on our thread and on twitter (recently) that were in for him and he wants the move, it’s just down to Dundee if they want to release him or loan him out

I seen that as well, but there’s also been rumours that Murray is a fan of Paterson and is trying to bring him in we will just have to wait and see I suppose
