we will be until the first few games into the season but fantastic start considering the lack of squad numbers , injuries  , Teenagers filling the bench

I think there will be at least 2 in within the first few games of the league season with rest coming in towards August with will likely be loans

I know it was only P'heid but I thought we looked very different to a McGlynn side tonight. Murray spoke early about workrate and we saw that, even at 4 up and beyond. Some of the passing and distribution was superb; though balls, reverse passes etc and for a midfielder, Brown made a good CH. Again, only P'heid but we have to be pleased with that I think. I am.

Under McGlynn if we went 1-0 or 2-0 up we would’ve just sat back and passed it around the back 4 for about 25 mins

Just watched both parts, great detail all round. Murray answers aren't cryptic puzzles instead just good questions and informative answers.

I felt with McGlynns interviews you knew what was coming before it began and it was the same old every week, quite refreshing to hear different things from Murray

  4. Just watched the full match replay and we actually scored from 2 corners I’m shocked 😂 but we did look good going forward causing them problems, the 2 trialist CHs never really had much to do and kept it simple never tried anything fancy but not really a game where you can take much out of as it was just a training game and pretty much over after 20 mins

Decent wee chat with Steven MacDonald about ticket sales, shirts and Murray still looking at players. Good idea to give everyone a bit of info at what’s happening while it’s been quiet.

2nd this and he also said there will be a Striker and a few CHs coming In at some point and Murray has sent people down south to look at a few teams for players and also Murray is going to make good use of the loan market never said anything about the said Striker/CHs being Loans or permanent

Aye 4 I think, all on the bench. I tuned in just after 4th goal went in so not sure line up as there's no updates or player line up. Just the commentary.

    MacDonald, Dick Berra Brown Mullen

    Connolly Easton Stanton Ross

Zanatta and Gullan up top 4132 formation supposedly

scorers Gullan x2 Ross and Easton

Yeh it definitely seems that way now, ive heard someone is signed .... but no idea if its a loan/permanent deal or if hes a centre half/centre forward and ladt few season the source knew the name now hes not being told anything.

My pal got his daughter a season ticket today and some rovers clothing and he did say he noticed someone new as in player wise that wasn’t here during the last 3 pre season games so it could be this guy your talking about mate

He did say he was a big fan of the loan market, so it could be that's where we see movement.

Also did say we needed more players, but only specifically mentioned signings.

This is just my opinion, I think we will see 1 more permanent signing then fill the rest out on loans if the budget is down a bit, but the kits seem to have sold well and that could go towards the budget same if we sell more Season tickets, plus we will have cash income from the cup games and the TV money vs Aberdeen to contribute towards that

If dick is going to be a cb then he is happy to start a 18 year old every week? Made sense if we signed Paterson, budget must be cut severely if that’s the case or he really is deluded

Dick should be nowhere near that defence as a CB the guy canny defend and also Murray can’t wait and see if Lang comes back and he’s the 2nd coming of Maldini, we need at least 2 CHs in but would take 1 early in the window and 1 late type thing

Agree however Ross maybe signed for us because mcglynn was here. He's maybe told his agent to find him a new club since mcglynn left. It's all the talk of one person at this stage though.
It's also not beyond the realms of possibility that our squad had been largely together for a few years and built by mcglynn, so Murray wants to come in and make his own mark. He's chosen to move a few players on in order to do so. We still have a good core of players that have been with us for a few seasons now but Murray will ultimately be judged on results so let's let him build his squad and see the results before judging him.

If your just signing for the manager and not to actually care to play for the club under a new manager then he can go, we want players that care and play for the badge

Or he wants rid of Zanatta.

Or he intends for Brown to play more at Centre Back until Lang is fit, necessitating Easton playing as a 6/8 instead of a 10, so Ross moves into 10.

If that is the case for brown then surely Brad would be playing the deeper role as that’s what he’s best at (obviously when he’s back if course)

Do we? We have Berra and a returning Lang. For short-term cover we have Brown, Dick and Masson. If the budget is a concern, as it seems to be, I suggest we will see one CB in, preferably one that can cover RB (Oh, why did we let Big Dave go, eh?😉) in a pinch, although Dick has ventured there too before…but would be less than ideal, especially as it leaves us with Young and no cover at LB.

Ideally speaking, we would like 4 or 5 CB on the roster. Our current options cover 4, counting Lang and Brown, so I’d be surprised if we didn’t plan on possibly trying to find a loan CB over the next couple of months after we sign one more CB soon. However, with Berra and Lang clearing being the intended starting pair, it may be difficult to get a top quality loanee, as a starting wouldn’t be assured.

Scrap this Make shift pish!!!!!! Browns better in midfield, Masson isn’t anywhere near ready and Liam Dick is pish defensively both at LB and CB, Lang is too much of a risk just throwing him in there he needs at least a month or 2 to get fitness/match time we need at least 2 and on the Loanee situation you could be right but what IF Lang comes back and gets another long term injury these things need considered

Indeed, I think there have been 3 signings announced in the division since the beginning of last week and all are unknowns from England, which seems to be becoming the market of choice for clubs in the championship. The market up here in Scotland is absolutely dead.

Because Paul Hartley is taking every Scottish player and their dug to Hartlepool with him

  14. I’m looking at a few signings In this division and most teams have signed people from down south/ league 1 or 2 up here because there’s no real quality in this league at CH or Forward areas. (Also Hartley signing every single player in Scotland doesn’t help either)

we all know Murray needs at least 2 CHs but getting the right ones for his style of play/quality will be a bit difficult as I said yesterday the premiership teams are back in training and playing games so it will be maybe 2/3 weeks before anything concrete happens in the loan market

It’s clear there are reasons why Musonda and Benny left the club when you consider we don’t have enough centre half’s but it certainly paints a picture when a Zambian internationals best gig is Ayr United no disrespect to Ayr ,  Ian Murray is not daft he knows where we need to strengthen but do we need another Riley snow a panic signing like last year and IMO gullen was a panic signing aswell offering a 2 and a half year deal with little in return so far  . Hopefully lessons have been learnt from last season by the club regarding desperation signings and I would rather go with what we have and sign the right player rather than squander what little money we have on shirt fillers just to make fans like myself a bit more happier

Riley Snow wasn’t really a panic signing it was more like a Gamble signing and unfortunately it never paid off, the real panic signing last season was he who shall not be named on January 31st
