  1. I get that we're looking for goals from all areas. We'll need more than just big Kev's 10/11 (if he gets the same as last year) BUT can someone tell Goss that he's not the next Turnbull and maybe passing to a striker, or moving in the box to shoot might be a better option?
  2. KVV auditioning for the Bois new lyricist. Though he only knows one tune...
  3. Well my Tivo box is 79% full so an extra 4hrs a week not watching MoTD/Sportscene will help me catch up on trashy American dramas... Got a list of possible days out that I can take my wain on and get her off her laptop for a while. Also been working our way through her Disney Classic DVD's. Plus tickets for The Killers, Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers to look forward to. Also, isn't baseball just Professional Rounders? "A group of grown men getting together to reward the act of running around in a circle." And cricket? Kinda similar except they run up and down instead of a circle.
  4. Can I just suggest to anyone in green and white, that while the league is won, IF you let us win (and The Rangers beat Hearts) then it'd be 90 vs 89 points. Wouldn't that be funnier than a four point gap? Throw on your reserve team and say "Look at us getting beat by Motherwell, we don't care!" Can see the 'close but no cigars' twitter trolling now...
  5. Guys, I feel like I must apologize for our form from January*. I got a black hat with the badge on it for Christmas to replace my usual Trivium hat. Wore it for three months, until suddenly once I couldn't find it before a game. Wore my Trivium hat instead and what happened? We beat St Mirren 4-2. Been wearing the old hat since and we've went and won again. (we got beat by The Rangers too but I don't think headwear would've changed that). I am 100% convinced that that new hat was a jinx. I am renewing my season ticket, but I promise I will never wear that cursed cloth again. * I don't go to away games tho so don't blame me for that.
  6. 66% of our league wins in 2022 have come in the past 5 days. Who'd a thunk it? Big Victor's earned himself at least a 6-month extension with that tackle! Not a volley, sadly. 7/10 prophecy, should've put money on it.
  7. Are we 4-4-2? Or (from the mind that brought you Bevis-in-attack) is Slattery now part of the front 3?
  8. Was gonna give my mum the ST to take the wee yin on Sunday, instead I'll be taking her on the Saturday. I'm not sure which of us is losing out here. After the game, child is staying with her grandparents while I go to an empty in Edinburger way. Have to change trains Central/Queen St so the train from Motherwell to town full of bluenoses will be even better if we take something from them. We can draw them at their place so why not at FP?
  9. My wain's been asking me if she can get a picture with Sol after a game for 3 months. Finally we won so he came over and she got one. Efford was along doing the same thing a bit behind him. Seen Grimmy and Tierney signing stuff while training at half-time too. Nice guys Also, is it just me or do Sunday's hit different with 3-points?
  10. I did not see "Anywhere across the front 3" in that. Colour me surprised! Although, "steps needed toward becoming a first team player" looks like he'll be on the bench beside former teammate Tierney, for a while anyway. Less the boost we need now and more potential replacement for Roberts when his deal ends in summer?
  11. Seen on Facebook : Calling all Motherwell FC fans One of our own, Jamie Preston, sadly passed away recently at the very young age of 30 & to show his family some love & support from the folks in Claret & Amber, I would like to arrange for a minutes applause to take place on the 30th minute of the game MFC v SMFC game on the 2nd April 2022. Please share this far & wide to let it reach as many fans as possible. This lad was an absolute gem of a guy, and a huge MFC fan. Please help in raising the roof for him on the 30th minute! RIP Jamie Preston
  12. Funny how the longball we try and fail at seems to be the one that works against us. The two today, Hibs' second last week, all just a punt from the back over everyone. When it's Attack Vs Defence in training is that the ball that works, so that's what we do on matchdays? And the first time Carrol gives the ball to VanVeen's feet is the goal, yet the other 88 minutes it's a big yeet from the back. And we've got 5 subs instead of 3 now right? Is GA refusing to use them out of pure spite?
  13. He spent the next two minutes holding his neck. The same area he was holding during the second half of the Aberdeen cup game when he fell on his shoulder. There's no point discussing with you if you've not been watching it. The short of it is, your man Cleary is a c**t who suckerpunched KVV.
  14. "Hey Deano and Donnelly - remember last week when you were the only two in midfield? Remember, in the second half, and you two had to run about like blue-arsed flies? That's the plan this week for the whole 90 minutes." - GA's team talk, probably.
  15. The aforementioned train from Waverly stops at Bellshill after Holytown. It's due in at 11.35. There's one train from Bellshill to Motherwell that will get you here in time. It's due to leave Bellshill at 11.38. Comparitevely, Holytown's probably the easiest to Google Map it to Fir Park, but you wanna risk it for a biscuit, may the odds ever be in your favour.
  16. Just watched the Dundee game there. Might be the only one, but I thought it was an improvement on Wednesday at least. Our problem seems to be one of the basics of playground football; awareness. Balls are played overhead to where they think KVV/Efford should be. Three players go to get the ball and pass into space where one of the other two should be. O'Donnell tries to pass as if he's not aware where McMullan is. GA needs to practice on getting them to look before hitting it. I'm not firmly in the Alexander-out camp yet. It's been said here before how some players have improved, and the ones he's brought in seem okish for our normal standards. If he can stop the head tennis and idiotic thrown-ins then I'd be happier with his 'style'. & as far as the conversation about booing, I hope someone's explained to O'Hara/Slattery and Goss/Tierney that it wasn't them being booed.
  17. First home game I'll miss due to hopefully being on a train at half 3. Can't say I'm exceptionally disappointed to be missing this particular one after last night. SOD/Carrol/McGinley to punt the ball up the line "into space" which no-one in C&A to get to, midfield to be missing, all 11 players in the box to defend their corner. Dundee to be unimpressive but punish our mistakes and win 2-0. But then, I thought we'd at least draw last night so wtf do I know?
  18. At the start of the season we were horrible to watch but grinded out results. 30% possession at home with 2 shots but one of them went in and was usually enough. The 6-1 Rangers game ended that, so we changed it, played some football for a change and were better to watch with some wins. Since the break we've had decent possession and shots, but converts and results way down. Bring back Alexanderball I say!
  19. Next games seem winnable, and we have good home form this season. Looking for at least 3/4 points this week to keep us on track. Alexander to make 6 or 7 changes as if he's Jurgen Klopp going from Champions League to a Premier League game.
  20. Not currently. But they do play Sandstorm as the teams come out. And if we win it's Twist And Shout (obviously) and Celebrate Good Times at the end. Or It Must Be Love otherwise.
