It would make sense to have this in place, but, this board isn't blessed with that. Anyways, onwards and upwards. They'll have to sort out the board positions before a manager I would've thought?

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we go into the new season with the only change being Blount will step away.

McCall's record in his previous spell here:

    Queen of the South November 2005 28 April 2007 70 19 24 27 27.14

That 27.14 win percentage is worse than Gibson (36.59), AJ's second stint (28.85), Naysmith (35.04), Bartley (37.04) and isn't much better than that of Gus (23.81).

It would probably have been worse had it not been for Stephen Dobbie and Allan Jenkins.

Look what he’s done since then though with Thistle and Ayr

I'm not sure we'll have a big enough player budget for him.

We will still be one of the best payers in this division next season, for the love of god just hope we use our budget on 18 players rather than 28!

*but yes understand players going PT with a decent paid job outside football might see us struggle to attract some players.

Without shooting a messenger, I was told that he (JM) was asked about 3 local businessmen joining his board but seemingly (I use seemingly as this is Dumfries rumour mill 🙂 ) he said no, as if he brought three people he didn't know in, they would vote for their own ideas and he wouldn't get his own way..

I’ve heard about someone who has been quite vocal about joining the board saying they aren’t interested anymore because they wouldn’t have got on. Also heard that it won’t be a shock if Billy is still here next season…

If ever you need an example of a business with a snapped rudder....

    • A Board on the way out who have no defined replacements bar one appointment (and seemingly rejecting a local consortium due to demands of new director)
    • A Manager who has completely failed to deliver and waiting on receiving his jotters on Saturday evening/Sunday morning (hopefully)
    • Stadium in need of investment and some basic HSE interventions
    • Tanner Fund folding due to various issues
    • Back to Back annual financial losses

And this is only a few points that are `glaringly obvious to the eye.  I hope that there is further news on the board front imminently so things can start to be addressed and next season planned for.  Its a full restart that is needed and if the board (new or old) do not sanction the sacking of MB, then I genuinely am concerned for the support next season.  The financial losses (imho) can only be addressed by the new board engaging fully with the fans and making them feel part of the kirk and getting them gee'd up for next season in a positive manner. If they fail to sack MB and they continue to fart about with attracting new board members (with local content) those fans that have been lost in this last couple of seasons (and beyond) will not return....simple fact.

What’s the demands of the new director bit all about?

The budget isn't going to be that big next season and I think it would be too small a budget for McCall to be interested tbh.

I got told opposite by someone working for the club. He said that the cost in putting down the pitch (grants not covering all of it) should mean we have a slightly larger budget. Dunno how true that is though.

The board downed tools years ago. Bad decision after bad decision.  I am delighted they are going at the end of the season. It can’t come soon enough.  All the shit they have left us in both on and off the park will be their legacy.

The first job of the incoming board will surely be to sack Bartley and his staff.

Murray’s contract is expiring this summer anyway so imagine he’d go regardless (hopefully)

It’s an interesting one, because I agree with you on Ferguson, and Todd being good again today. However, I was speaking to a scout for a potential playoff opponent at half time today and he liked the look of Ferguson, and thought Todd was the big issue in midfield. Intriguing how others can see it so differently.

I’ve never understood the appeal of Ferguson. From what I’ve seen of him, he doesn’t create chances, he can’t tackle and he doesn’t carry the ball up the pitch for us. He was a player I was excited about when he signed for us, but he’s been absolutely awful all season in my opinion.
