Kilsby is a great signing IMO. Does it mean Church is out long term though?

I'm sure he can play at CB too.

A little bit concerned that with the current system he would take Gibson’s place (hopefully he’ll switch with Logan instead).

Bye bye Toby Raggett. Had to double check he was called Toby and not Tony! Very strange signing tbh. One for the boys maybe?

    Room for one more maybe?

Desperately need another centre midfielder in my opinion, shocked that wasn’t the priority for this window.

    I’m sorry but that’s not controversial…..it’s just nonsensical!  😂

For example what would a team that required a bigger capacity do if their current location had no scope for expansion?

Obviously there should be exceptions. But examples like Tottenham, Everton and Aberdeen (potentially) moving grounds is ridiculous to me. Why rip apart 100+ years of history and association with a ground to move to a soul-less commercialised ground? Just doesn’t sit right with me.

If I win Euromillions I've told the wife I that I'll build Queens a new stadium ... fortunately I don't play Euromillions ...

Controversial opinion but I don’t think teams should be allowed to move grounds. Absolutely hate that in modern football where teams just move to a Corporate goldfish bowl.

A few weeks back I thought  at the very least changing the assistant manager might be something to consider as it was clear Bartley was going nowhere.  Someone other than Murray may have provided a different perspective for Bartley (and the players) and perhaps a change in coaching styles/approaches - as it’s pretty damn clear the current set up isn’t getting the best out of the squad.  But very much doubt that’ll happen either.

Murray actually has quite a good reputation as a coach which is surprising enough. Of course when Bartley got the job he should have had the option of who his assistant was though.

Sadly I did expect and suggest their keeper wouldn't get his gloves dirty today, although we made it a little interesting without really threatening them.

Great to see Brydon start again but then worrying to see that he didn't come out for the second half.

Brydon was always planned to play 45 minutes.

Currently this page is as exciting as the team some of us claim to support,  I don't post often but that's me finished with this page it's all doom and gloom , and I have enough of that going on watching the team .I think some of the posters on this page are pleased we are struggling so they can run with their agenda  .

f**k off. We have went from a team trying for promotion to the Premiership to being glad to avoid the play offs for League Two in the space of a decade, what are you expecting fans reaction to be like?

Also, it doesn’t need an “agenda” to realise our current set up off the pitch is a major reason we are struggling on the pitch.

Darvel had won 5-2 at Montrose and went through a spell of being at least lower Championship standard . We also had a perfectly good equaliser scandalously disallowed - which doesn’t excuse anything, but somewhat changes the narrative and the BBC repeating it ad nauseum.

I actually rated our performance against Annan’s Solway Firth select in the LC as even more incompetent, other than the extra time where we ran out easy winners.

For that reason last night was always a worry, but other than the bonnie piece of play from Clyde midway through the first half and a couple of late set piece flurries, things were comfortable enough against a stuffy organised opponent who will improve under McCall.

Our attacking and defensive corners need work, as does Morris’ decision making.

Hopefully Clyde get back to their homeland soon, having to groundshare in Hamilton must be as grim as it gets.

Absolute nonsense Darvel were ever Championship standard.

  8. I’m always very critical of the BoD but not really on this occasion. What is the point in signing 3/4 players when Bartley hasn’t shown that he can get the best out of the squad he has?

I personally don’t see the point in giving him a few players as even if we did make the play offs, we would just embarrass ourselves as we have no chance of going up. If Bartley was to get binned, it should have been a month ago, so a new manager could get a plan for the window, but since that hasn’t happened I’d say we may as well just stick till the end of the season and evaluate things then.

That’s us signed Shug Wilson until 2025. He’s been brilliant ever since he regained fitness and we probably wouldn’t have gained so many points over the last few weeks without his input.

So frustrating he’s fell out with MB as he’d be our best player. Questions need ask the fact he was allowed to leave in the first place.

  10. I’ve never understood the last few seasons recruitment with squads of 25+, I think it makes a lot more sense to run with a much smaller squad of 16/17 senior players (like Morton do) and the rest from our academy. That is surely a better way to manage our finances so we are in the market for a better player. Having said that, with this seasons injuries we would have struggled for a full squad most weeks.

Too many posts today from me (I know) ... but a last word on the Legend ...

For all his outstanding attributes on the pitch, one of Stephen's greatest for me is that when he's interviewed he just comes across as a really nice and humble guy, plain and simple and a real family man.  He's not from the Dumfries area and yet he's bonded so well with the club, the fans and the town and of course the feelings are mutual.  Truly, the guy is a one off and we'll not see his like at the club again.  Am I the only one who's convinced he'll manage us one day?

He made a good impression at Blackpool as Caretaker so think he will just be waiting around till their manager gets binned with the hope of getting the gig full time. Also he has two young kids still in school so can't see him being our manager unless we went down to part-time due to travelling involved.
