  1. Of course they can, we could have dumped them in the SM stand on the railway side alone but didn't. Football should always be about the fans, as many through the gates as you can safely get. No club in this league (or the majority of the top league) are in a place to realistically turn people away. Its not like United will sell out the rest of the ground. Like I said, hope it bites them in the arse, as it did with you guys in 96.
  2. If the Premiership shite and the wee gimp Brendan Rodgers have their way, we'll be replacing the surface regardless. Great occasion for Vaughan tonight, really great to see a support that was maybe 30% higher than last season's average league attendance turn out to congratulate him. Some effort considering the slow uptake on sales. Hannah looked tidy, He's got very good recovery pace as well, number of times he got back to a tackle was impressive, great to see the improvement from him. On the overall game, not much to say about it other than as per usual we had zero presence in the middle of the pitch. On a separate note, Dundee United are pathetic, cutting our allocation and putting us into an even more garbage stand and being generally wee bitches about next weekend. Can only hope it bites them in the arse.
  3. Aye, i'm not sure that was the intention in the statement, or at least hope not?. I think all clubs have done well making community ties overall, you can see that in attendances and turnover for the clubs. What Rovers offer is letting everyone play at Starks Park, letting kids enjoy their football on the same pitch as the players they watch on a saturday etc. Its probably really good for kids. It also means that there are less facilities to maintain and pay for given its all controlled within the one stadium. What Partick, Morton and Ayr offer, is something different but just as valuable based on their circumstances and infrastructure.
  4. The problem with the Balwearie astro is that its on school grounds and therefore cannot be used by external parties during school times, there are also no facilities there that do not belong to the school. So it would not be able to be used by the players for training, any external community operations during school hours, or when prioritised for school activities. Personally, I don't have any problem with newer synthetic surfaces such as that at Starks, its a quality surface and provides good additional revenue streams to the club. However, i'd also not be adverse to going back to grass if we were able to find additional space to use for training and all community efforts,I also think that any surface rules must come with stipulations that all clubs in the top flight who have games called off for frozen surfaces, waterlogged surfaces are heavily fined each time. If we're going to vote no to surfaces that are more suited to the challenges of our climate and more suited to prevent call offs, then upkeep and management of a grass surface should be proactively addressed and prioritised by clubs and not an afterthought, like it feels like at Dens.
  5. Hopefully this will make some people consider attending too Worth noting that Raith TV should be covering it too.
  6. Hilarious to think he got caps for Scotland. Absolute diddy. Still, in 2 weeks, United will somehow start to play like peak Barcelona, apart from Alex Grieve who is complete murder.
  7. Queens Park away, but we're no talking about that now Good hit, but some shocking defending yet again.
  8. See Lewis McCann is a wearer of these stupid tiny shin guards. Fucking pointless things.
  9. Can we find his barber and make sure the place is shut down? No respectable business should allow someone to leave their shop with that.
  10. East End Park always looks like that. Dundee United have finally realised that Grimshaw is garbage as a right back and dropped him
  11. No probably not, but given that it has been the chosen date, I hope we can get a considerable number of people to go to it. Though regarding the Euro glamour friendly, that wouldn't be any time before the league cup group stage as Spanish sides don't tend to start pre season until July. I wouldn't be surprised if our talks with the SPFL are around giving us a free weekend at the end of the group stage or potentially postponing a league game (a la Rangers/Celtic tended to do historically)
  12. Ticket sales for Vaughans testimonial don't look great, home or away. Hopefully we can get a good crowd there, the lad deserves it, but it is mental that its midweek, mid season.
  13. Brilliant watching Neilson there letting Murray get infront of him without any challenge then complain that his keeper doesn't bail him out.
  14. Connolly has always been this player when he's isolated out wide in a system like this. Last season we overlapped him with the fullback and made runs inside of him to give him space to cut in and shoot, this season, we're far too stretched and no deep runners to help him. He cuts inside and has no one occupying his defender to make some space. He's never been quick or able to take a man on and beat them convincingly.
  15. Good call from the ref, but not convinced McBeth is a footballer. Where did they find him? Glasgow Warriors?
  16. I'd love to see a stat on how many second balls we win from defensive headers, it doesn't feel like it would be a high percentage.
  17. We really do make it easy for teams to get through the middle of the park. Far too big gaps between our lines.
